Not a friendly space. Unless you know the bartender, I guess. I went in, intending to give them buisness, but they were rude and dismissive. DO NOT recommend. For a good time go to Harvest House, Dans, Oak st. Draft House, Rubber Gloves, or Paschalls. Even Fry st. is better than the pretentiousness of Hickory st. Lounge

Great atmosphere with respectful, skilled bartenders. I had a great impression and plan to visit again.

I came in with my friend and ordered a beer. My friend ordered a cocktail. The bartender gave my friend the cocktail but never came back with my beer. He proceeded to wash dishes and make another drink for another patron. After about 15 minutes of waiting I waved the bartender down and asked if I could get my beer. He looked surprised and then responded by saying "I think you might have had too much and I'm not going to serve you." That is a perfectly acceptable response and his right as a bartender. But I don't understand why he didn't say that when I placed my order. My friend was confused too as the bartender had not requested payment for his drink at this point. My friend said he has never seen anyone get cut off at this bar and it was only our second drink of the night. I looked around the bar and noticed I was the only person of color in there. I suddenly realized maybe this spot isn't the safest place for me to drink at and we left immediately.

Best bar in Denton, honestly. Best cocktails, great selection of Whiskey...when Josh remembers. Ken and Bob's humor is top notch. Brett, Ashleigh and Myra's no nonsense attitude, creativity, and excellent bar skills are second to none. That atmosphere is like Cheers. Its got a long bar top, plenty of room and character, and Hoochies (next door) delivers. I mean the only downside is that young, jock baseball playing teenager behind the bar that half falls asleep during his shifts - Beavis/ Butthead lookin' fool.

Well I stopped in a Tuesday night at 1:20a.. google said closes at 2a, Matt informed me they were closed. 4 people sitting at the Bar.. oh well, take my money else where🤷🏼‍♂️

Just enjoyed the inside bar area. Nice lounge area and bar seating. Bartender was top notch.

Great “old school” bar, a block off the square. Good mix of beers and cocktails, top shelf pretzels. Bartender managed to be there when you needed him & not there when you didn’t. Reasonably priced, too - 4 beers and an amaretto sour was about $30.

Good change of pace. Smaller, quiet and drink menu offers some uniqueness. Haven't tried them all but the ones we have are very good.

Always loved hanging at this bar. Went to watch the Stars in the playoffs and caught alot of grief from a random guy who is a regular, that doesn't like hockey. Ugh! We just wanted to watch the game.

This place was pretty cool. Me and my wife had a good time in here. It was just busy enough to be interesting, but not busy enough to make it 60 minutes between drinks. Def recommend

A brown haired, late 20s, female employee harassed my friend and I last night and was insisting we walk home after our friend (someone she knew) offered to take us home. She was insulting and verbally intrusive once she heard he was leaving with us, and was raising her voice and yelling at us asking why we wouldn’t just get an Uber (we didn’t want to because of surcharges, and also he offered to take us home before the idea of a Uber was considered). It doesn’t sit right with me that this woman harassed us and was perfectly fine with two ladies walking home in the dark. I think this establishment deserves better staff, and I think employees need more background checks and sensitivity management if this is how they treat regulars.
