Went there after seeing the basement entrance on a date. Nice yallternative vibe with a beautiful downstairs bar. They had the godfather playing which made me pretty happy. Ordered my drinks from a blonde/redheaded bartender who was very nice and hospitable. After a few minutes and another drink I walk around the basement looking at the cool decorations and furniture and books that are all around. I look up this staircase that they have that leads to the main event area, BIG sign on it that says not to go up that way, i stand there reading it for a second and turn around and walk back to the bar. As soon as i round the corner a bigger woman who was bartending yells at me "How did you get down here? youre not supposed to be coming down here from the stairs. Dont ever do that again" She was extremely hostile, aggressive and confrontational. I told her that i did NOT go up the stairs but that it was my first time here and that i was just looking around their property. She insisted that i had come down from the crickity old stair case and snuck into the bar. I showed her my drink sitting next to my date and my tooth pick and confronted her about her mean attitude toward me. I said i wasnt going to cause any problems and not to worry about me going up there because of the sign. I thought that was the end of it, when i sit back down i hear her telling other patrons "that motherf*cker thinks im stupid, i saw him come down from those stairs" I get back up and confront her again. "I do not think youre stupid, but i am telling you i did not go up those stairs and im not going to let you treat me like sh*t for something i did not do." At this point some skinny guy with long brown hair starts yelling at me telling me to get the hell out of his bar over and over, not once did anyone ask me what had happened, not once did any of them try and listen to anything i was trying to say. Not once did i get the benefit of the doubt of being a first timer at their bar. The man gets increasingly more aggressive and loud and starts screaming at me to get the f*ck out. I finish my drink and walk out. The actions of those two bartenders ruined not only my night, but potentially the relationship with the rest of their guests. never in my life have i ever witnessed bartenders act in such a way to anyone. If you ever go to this bar, be very careful, these people are extremely hostile. The beautiful bar and decor with the delicous drinks were completely ruined by the actions of those two employees.

To the owner(s) exclusively: Nice job throwing your little hissy fit and choosing to shut down over treating your staff with basic respect bud. I'm sure that was a great financial move on your part.

good music but unfortunately the bar staff were very condescending and rude and were giving me trouble because of what I ordered, I also caught 2 of the bartenders taking shots in the basement and behind the bar (one female with hat and piercings and the other was a short male with dirty blonde mustache and hair) I’m guessing that’s why they felt it was ok to give me trouble about my drink, the bathrooms smelled funny and looked dirty and there was trash riddled around the entrance of the basement stairs . This place was my introduction to the great city of Denton, Texas and I can only say I’m disappointed.

Very racist place and racist staff, I have been to many bars and clubs and never have I been discriminated like this, the bar staff was horrible and over looked me and skipped me and served 3 other people first, they also made racist remarks on my choice of drink and worse than that I was told “My kind” isn’t welcome to the basement by one of the bartenders who claimed to own the place. The staff at Andy's is great. Very welcoming and friendly. The room sounds kinda weird due to the layout. Overall I'd say it's a good place to see a show. Only the 2 single bathrooms makes it so that you have to plan to wait.

Came for the weekend pop up of Nichols bbq. Enjoyed the spicy Paloma a lot ! Good prices on drinks. Fun vibe. And Nichols bbq is phenomenal. Def come check it out. Great tacos - brisket and the tortillas are top notch. Really good fire roasted street corn too. Can’t go wrong with any of it. He’s constantly changing up the menu from week to week, always something fun and new and tasty on the menu.

One of the better places in Denton to see live music. Love this place, and love the staff even more.

Can't count how many times I've been here. Brought a ton of people here and everyone's had a good time. Lots of different types of performances, shown up multiple different times not knowing the performances and never left disappoint. Love the place. Cocktails were a little expensive beer was average definitely a unique place I prefer the basement bar and the speakeasy on top floor. Although the cocktails had a price they are well worth it hard to put a price on a drink made correctly

I love going to Andy's basement – it's cozy and the bartenders are super friendly and helpful. The venue has great shows every weekend and karaoke on Monday's! Not to mention the waffles are amazinnngg. Love this place!

I do not respect a bar and staff that disrespect the police, or call police on a police officer. If you do not respect our people in blue then we will never support your restaurant . Shame on you

I liked it better 20 years ago when it was proudly a "dive bar" in the basement, where the best calzones in all of Denton County could be found. Now, it's gentrified with expensive fancy food and snobby everyday non-working-class beers. Will not be going back.

Solid Concert Venue! Small space with great acoustics. This is my favorite type of place to catch a show

Great as a concert venue--small, intimate, up-close to the bands playing. Reminds me of my days going to the Triple Rock in Minneapolis.

Drinks: (bearing in mind that I don't drink, so don't take my word for it). My drink tasted like rubbing alcohol with an air of fruit. Everyone else in my party sipped, but no one experienced anything to write home about. Restrooms: I'd suggest going anywhere but here. Toilet transports you to the feeling of being in a latrine. I suppose after a few drinks, you might not care or even notice. Atmosphere: Vintage furniture in a cave. It sounds terrible, but it serves a hint of "Dusk Til Dawn" moodiness without the vampires. Overall: When it's late and you want to keep the party going, this is a good option. _________ Note: I was only on the lowest level and did not experience the food.

This is a great place to see local bands or chill at the bottom bar. They had the office playing on tv and it was amazing.

The bands I saw were great but the sound setup was terrible. I ended up leaving earlier than I had planned to because the venue was making food musicians sound bad. I'm only giving it 3 starts because they booked good bands.

Went for a band I like, glüestick. It's a great location, on the square and set up well for live music. The bar was friendly and affordable, I did not explore other parts or the building such as the basement.

Fantastic little basement bar with fun drinks and a grunge atmosphere. Drinks are cheap, bartenders are fun and courteous, and the new menu is awesome albeit a little pricey. Will visit again!

Toni was amazing. My son was so impressed by how fast the service. Tonight was definitely on top of everything even the guest that arrived late.

Great space for intimate concerts and VIP. Enjoyed kicking off the festival here with high energy!
