Our server Hope was really good with the cocktail and food recommendations and overall a delight! This place has the absolute best guacamole recipe in the city (please share)! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere of their outdoor covered dining section. The Baja shrimp and short rib tacos were simple yet amazing!!! Never disappointed here.

Had a birthday dinner here and our Waiter was extremely rude to my friends and I. There was only 8 of us and she made it very difficult to be nice to her. While everyone else was screaming and jumping around, we sat patiently and quietly the entire night, whenever we asked her about anything on the menu, it was as if we were bothering her. I watched her walk away from our table multiple times while she laughed, talked and enjoyed other tables. Asked her if the restaurant had lettuce to put on the side for the tacos, she had an attitude about not knowing if a TACO place had LETTUCE. Another person from our party came and we asked her to place another order and her response was "Do you want me to tell you the difference between the tacos I just brought over or take her order?" with the nastiest attitude! Had to ask multiple times for silverware. AGAIN tried to be nice because the place was so busy. Never complained or gave her a hard time about anything. The gentlemen who brought food to our table were very nice and smiling. The food is OKAY at best and the service is not worth it. Being that we were the ONLY black people sitting in the corner of the restaurant, we just decided to pay our bills and go. Would not recommend, there are way better spots in the city with way better service.

One of my favorite taco spots in Detroit. Because of the prime location of this place, not too far from Little Caesar’s Arena and Comerica Park, it can get pretty busy on game days. I came during a hockey game so it was packed but I was able to find a seat at the bar. I ordered the Hibiscus margarita to start which was very strong. I ordered 3 tacos, fish, a shrimp and a the Diablo chicken. All super good. I also ordered a house margarita which was also strong and tasty. Despite the bar being busy I received quick service and my food came out fast too. If near Woodward Ave in Midtown, definitely stop in.

MUST TRY!!! this restaurant is amazing! the environment is beautiful in midtown! it has the BEST tacos, and the staff is super friendly! I ordered the Baja shrimp and I will be ordering from them again and again! Our waiter also went beyond expectations to leave us with a to-go bag of chips and our favorite salsa! definitely check out Bakersfield! a perfect restaurant !!

Really liked the place. The only thing that could have maybe been better would of been the Organization while passing out the food. What a. Also think they could have more to pick from but the food altogether was amazing! I would for sure recommend and go back myself. Couldn't even get the pictures on time before we all started digging in and forgot to take a few lol..

Shrimp tacos, who knew they were so good! Breaded and a tiny bit spicy, awesome! Al Pastor taco was great with a pineapple accent. Pollo Verde could have been better if I ate it first before the more powerful flavors of Shrimp Baja and Al Pastor. Hubby had Carnitas Taquitos and Papa Chorizo taco. Both were great but he could have done without the pickled onions. Thanks, Elijah, for the Shrimp taco recommendation and great service!

Scott was the best server ever, he knew everything about the menu and his personality is amazing. Food and overall experience was 11/10. Get the first chicken taco option and Mezcal Margarita Pitcher, it’s a great deal! Will definitely be coming back.

Found this place a couple of years ago and I’ve been there several times since. Limited menu, but the food is excellent. Street tacos, taquitos, salads, and queso, which is out of this world, especially with the short ribs. Consider ordering the side dishes of cauliflower, and esquite…both fantastic

Huge selection of spirits and mixed drinks. Delicious queso dip and great, unique selection of tacos and other dishes. The Esquites corn is really good. Comfortable seating. A loud, social atmosphere, great for small groups or a date.

The taco's and drinks are really good. We had a large variety of taco's and we enjoyed them. The cauliflower side was really good, as well. We sat in the heated outdoor tented patio that was perfect for our family. The only thing was that the service was a bit slow. It took a quite a while for our server to take our food order and we had glasses that didn't get cleared away. Maybe that was a one off.

Finally caught TACO TUESDAY with discounted tacos! Every taco was amazing and unique in its own way. My fav were the Pollo Diablo (Spicy) and the Al Pastor.

Great place good food service was great even being super busy with a Red Wings game going on. $4 dollars a lil taco gets me a bit though especially when they rattle off what they are really fast and your left guessing what's what kinda. Drinks were made well, overall great experience and we were taken care of during a super busy time which was really cool especially when your expecting less. Shots of the day way to go though wow what a good deal there!

First time eating here . Staff was very friendly. They are very attentive to their customers. The atmosphere is amazing here . The music isn't too load and a great place for a date or even a gathering of friends . The food was delicious and served hot . The appearance and how clean the whole place is a example to all other restaurants. This will be my go to spot. I will also be taking my staff here as well .

Queso and Roasted Cauliflower are my 2 favorite options to get at this place. Their services are great and interior is amazing.

Love the Shrimp tacos here! Margs are legit, and they have an impressive whiskey list. Tacos are great all around. The beef and pork can be middle of the road on occasion - but that doesn’t mean bad by any means. Please be patient with the servers as they’re handling a high volume for a small staff during certain times. I’m rude for not mentioning a couple bartenders by name in this review - but I’m sure to tip them well during my visits.

Pretty solid spot for tacos and drinks. Margaritas are sweeter than I prefer but still pack a punch. Short rib queso is good! Tacos are good and there's a good amount of variety, so you'll have lots to choose from

The food was great and honestly the prices are good too for midtown! Service was friendly and efficient. They honored my reservation within the 15 minute grace period. Will be back!

One of the best bar and restaurant in downtown Detroit, if you are looking for Mexican food. The Tacos are reasonably priced. Ambience is okay and has good capacity to host medium-sized groups. Food was good and can be ordered to taste. Service was prompt and courteous. The management was very accommodating and flexible to accommodate our group needs. Parking is around the corner, and there are free parking spaces available off Woodward ave.

I love this place! The food and atmosphere never disappoints! If you go on Tuesday you can try every taco for $3 after 4pm. Use to be $2 after 10pm Mon-Fri pre-Covid. Still is a must try/must frequent for me. Drink specials are always bomb!

What an amazing place to get some tasty tacos 🌮 and guacamole 🥑! food was delicious 🤤! our server, Scott was super friendly and nice and made our experience absolutely superb. The interior is great, ambient and spacious. Arugula salad 🥗 is good choice if you like sweet dressing ! Spicy 🌶️ taco 🌮 was our favorite, so as the shrimp 🍤 taco !

Our server Jacqueline was very friendly, attentive and made great recommendations. Food was delicious, served fresh, promptly, great value and on point. The kitchen was very accommodating in some of the diary, gluten and vegetarian restrictions our group had. We had an incident with a homeless person right outside and the hostess of the restaurant, but our server was able to turn it around into an overall excellent experience. Will definitely recommend and return.

First time at Bakersfield, If I must be honest I’ve had better Tacos. But hear me out due to the service from Scott he somehow made the experience worth while. Margarita’s 10/10..Will I go back?..Absolutely just to sit in Scott’s area. Sometimes food taste better when the service and ambiance is A1. Which it is! Now did I order the wrong items .. who knows but I will return to give a second chance..Until next time.😃

Huge Tequila selection. They do offer a decent selection of Bourbon and Whiskey. They have a shot of the Day Menu for $5. And most of the shots are Solid Quality liquors and they are not adding Bottom shelf stuff. On Tuesday they do a $10 shot of the day and it's Top Shelf Liquor. They serve small tacos 🌮 so as a hungry man I can eat about 4 tacos.. I went on a Saturday and it was a little busy, But I found a seat at the Bar which I normally can at least find 1 seat..

The staff is awesome their very professional very polite and fun. The food is spectacular and they have a huge selection of like tequila drinks and stuff. Most restaurants in the area are very very expensive this place you can get really good tacos and stuff for cheap.

Here with my daughter. Glad we had reservations because of the Red Wings game. Scott was our server and he was great. Appetizers and drinks came out quickly and the food not far behind. Really good! Will be back. Highly recommend reservations!

The place is really good and the tacos are delicious. My friends and I loved the hot and spicy tacos. The size of the servings are small but it is a great place to hand out with friends.

Our server Morgan, was dead on top of everything. Her recommendation was true to her words. The food is non traditional Mexican. More like gourmet with a splash of lime. Now, the Traditional Bakersfield Margaritas with their tequila was okay. The decor matches the ambiance along with their food prices. Overall, if you’re looking for somewhere casual to dine that offers non traditional Mexican food I would highly recommend Bakersfield.

Love this place! I always order their shrimp and fish tacos and they’re always fresh and full of flavor. I’ve tried the queso as well a few times and it wasn’t bad either. The drinks are pretty watered down unless you tell the bartender how to prepare yours, which the customer service is great so they’re always friendly enough to make your drink how you like it. If you’re trying to beat the rush and get seated fast as this place gets pretty busy especially on Tuesday, I’d suggest going before 4 or after 7:30. They have two open patio dining options which is great for the summer. Wide range of cocktails and over 20 different tequilas and whiskey selections. Every day they have a different $5 shot special and on tuesdays it’s $1 off all tacos. I paid $15 for 2 tacos and a really good cocktail. If you’re looking for a taco bar outside of southwest and close to downtown I’d definitely suggest coming here on a Taco Tuesday or after a game.
