I really enjoyed myself this time at armondo's. The service was a little slow but other than that, everything was pretty satisfying. Their wet burrito dinner is something that I would reccomend. It is smothered in cheese and it is delicious. It has always been one of my favorites from here. As far as the drinks, my Michelada could have been more flavorful. Their Mexican drinks as a whole are okay but nothing special for what you are paying. There could have had better decor too. I remember before they remodeled, there was a much better Mexican theme. But adding the patio outside a while back was a great idea. I can't wait to eat out there again in the summer. One other thing that stood out to me is that the place is very clean. That is definitely a strong attribute that would bring me back in at some point. Overall, this place is one of the better places to go in Mexicantown. The food is quite good

Mariah was a great waitress. She was kind, friendly, and very attentive. The food was INCREDIBLE and the prices were great. I love the $5 drink specials.

I used to live in the area and always loved eating here. A friend and I were trying to decide where we were going for lunch and I suggested here so we drove up from near Toledo. It was so satisfying to eat at my favorite Mexican restaurant after a few years of not doing so. We both had an awesome meal and the service was great.

The experience was very enjoyable. The food was so good. Chips were perfect. Enchiladas Rancho Grande tinga de pollo was seasoned perfectly. California Burrito was awesome. We ate inside at 3 in the afternoon, so it wasn't too busy. I found that Weekends are busy and a wait should be something to expect.

Customer Service was good. Food was nasty & bland. I ordered simplistic Mexican dishes the food was still very bland and nasty. Ordered the shrimp quesadilla let’s just say the shrimp looks boiled and not grilled. Waste of money!!

A classic staple in Southwest Detroit line of Mexican eateries. A few items that have been long time favorite's are the Botana, Mexican sandwich and beefy burritos topped with cheese!! Salsa could be a bit better hence the 4 star rating vs 5.

Had a lovely lunch. I didn't get the waitresses name but she was very sweet. These tacos however were fantastic. The flour shells were crispy flaky, not greasy at all. A really good option if you like a crunchy taco but can't have corn

Nice place! Love the bottomless chips and salsa. Our waitress was awesome. The food came out really quick. We all enjoyed the food. Good serving size. We had to take some home. I hear their carryout is a different menu with different prices. It seems to be a popular option. We will come back.

One of many staple restaurants in Mexican town within Detroit. The food is great here...literally never had a bad meal. The portions are just as generous post-pandemic unlike many other places. The prices are affordable. Highly recommend a drop in for lunch or dinner if in the area. Then hit the Mexican bakery across the street for a sweet treat.

My absolute FAVORITE Mexican restaurant! Best Mexican food in the City of Detroit! If you haven’t tried it, stop what your doing go get some. You won’t be dissatisfied! I visit here when I’m in the mood for some authentic Mexican food. Then afterwards walk next door for some delicious pastries ❀️. Happy Eating!!

One of the original restaurants around here, and surprisingly the quality hasn't gone downhill like other originals around here. I've actually had take out from here 3 times in the last 3 months. Twice I had a Cuban sandwich and once I had the seafood chimichangas. The food was very good and will definitely be ordering again from here.

Love me some good Mexican food! Have been here a few times a really close family friend was who introduced me to the place and I for sure am thankful! The food and service was really good during our last visit, the salsa for the chips is not my favorite but still got the job done. Will be back in the future, thanks again for the experience!

I know y'all love good food! I come here all the time for carry out and dine in. In the picture you'll see my Quesa Birria tacos. Delicious with or with out a good dip in the consume. I paired it with a strawberry margarita and easily sent to my happy place! If you have to opportunity, stop by, grab some food, and find out for yourself. You'll be glad you did!

Stopped in for a quick lunch, had tamales with chili and cheese. The meal was good, tasted like most of the Mexican I’ve had downtown. Nothing jumped out in the meal it was like the rest of the restaurants down here, any of these you goto off Vernor and Mexico village area taste similar, I’ve been to all of them over the years. Was bummed they no longer have the lunch buffet, we used to hit this years ago and it was yummie they stopped because of the vid.

Everyone kept saying, go to this place. Usually, I go to Zochimillco, and they've never let me down. I've only ordered one thing for the past 30 years. Steak and Chicken Fajita w/cheese. One word, Disappointed. As you can see from the photo. It was lacking some color. You know, a little char from a sizzling skillet. Totally missed, and it was bland too. Drinks were good, and so was the service. Sorry, but I won't be back. P.s. I was treating myself for a birthday lunch.

This place is lacking seasoning!! The drinks super good... the quantity is great but it's ok in the flavor department! I had to add salt to the whole plate.. it all tasted the same... chicken was chicken.. beef was beef... nothing really wowed me... the fried ice cream is very delicious! The salsa is very runny and didn't have much spice... the hot salsa was just hot.. no flavor!

We went for a girls' night out. We were seated immediately and received water promptly. Our waitress came by with chips and salsa and took out drink order. Then when it food arrived, it was delicious! We had a great time here and I would highly recommend to anyone who loves Mexican food to go and experience Armando's. You won't be disappointed.

Good food, decent portions, good pricing. It was very busy, we asked the server for some recommendations and we ordered those, she didn't disappoint. The washrooms were extremely clean and well kept.

If you're reading this review then you definitely have to go here when in Detroit for authentic Mexican food! Been coming here for many years but it has been a couple years since I've been back and it looks like they did some renovations inside. This was one of my favorites downtown and this time also didn't disappoint. Don't need to make this too long of a story the food was always excellent and it still is excellent.

I walked in to place an order for carry out. The young lady with a short bob and blonde hair is the SWEETEST and her customer service is top tier! Jennifer or Jessica is her name (can’t remember). Food was delicious! I want the owner to know I am so happy with her choice in carry out staff. That young lady gave me the best customer service I have ever had and was very welcoming had a huge smile on her face the entire time. THANK YOU THANK YOU!!

Food and service was pretty good. Definitely was a good experience but still doesn't top my favorite two spots... I had gotten the burrito dinner with cheese on top and the two others with me got the enchilada dinner and another burrito dinner. Drinks I have to say tasted really good though. We tried the original margarita and the strawberry margarita which both were good.

They need to get a better salsa, a spicy good one. Pozole DOESNT HHAVE RADISH! this is a basic in pozole! Tacos are expensive and without a good salsa Not worth it. Mi enchiladas suizas were good and nice portion for leftovers. Micheladas were great! For a Mexican the absence of a good salsa is a not bueno!

I used to work there 49 years ago. The food was great back then. I went for lunch with friends on New Year's Eve and the food is still great. Wonderful food and wonderful service. Usually have take out but dining in was a nice experience.

Its been a while since my last visit because of the freeway construction, it was a pleasant surprise that they were still open after all the closures. The food is as good as it was years ago. it is now one of my favorites.

My boyfriend and I drive here at least a few times a month to get food and I order the same thing every time. It comes with cilantro and onions. Today I ordered it with no onions, I just wanted cilantro. Instead they gave me onions and no cilantro. My boyfriend went back In to ask for a side of it and they charged him for it! Even though it comes with both and I only wanted the cilantro. Not our fault you gave us the wrong thing. Then they were greedy and charged for something that COMES WITH IT! customer service isn’t good.

Omg there was a little bit of a wait to be seated but it was so worth the wait. I highly recommend the peach Margarita and the Birria Tacos with consomme. It was very good. And the staff was very friendly. I will be back!
