Simply amazing pizza. I came across a story about the owner fixing the parking problem on his own and pay some tickets for people it made me want to go support a business like that. It was totally worth the 2 hour drive to get there. The inside and outside of the establishment are well kept. They have a nice area for outdoor dining. The staff was awesome. They have a bar you can sit at and get drinks. I only tried one pizza, bit boy was it delicious. I'm so glad I found that video and decided to go. I will definitely be back when when I am in Detroit again.

Great pizza for after a Tigers game or just relaxing downtown. The sauce has a sweet taste to it. Food came out hot and drinks came out cold!

This place is really awesome for some NY-style pizza. The pizza was really good and this place has an awesome vibe. All the food was delicious. Loved this place. I would recommend to anyone visiting Detroit to go to this place for some good pizza.

One of our favorite places to stop and have lunch when we are in town. The meat balls are huge as an appetizer. I love their library salad and the small is still to much for me. Service is always great even when they are busy.

Great atmosphere, comfortable bar. Bartender was friendly, knowledgeable, and made delicious craft cocktails. We had the Bee Sting Pizza, Nonna’s Meatballs and Italian chopped Salad. Everything was outstanding. The Pizza has hot honey, a new take on pizza. Easy close parking at The Z. Looking forward to going back.

My wife and I go to Mootz whenever we visit Detroit. The pizza is unique and their specialty pizzas are the jam, son. I am always impressed with how quickly the food arrives at the table, too. Service is great and the ambiance is super slick. Kinda like Great Gatsby meets some modern panache. Get to Mootz!

First time here and it was delicious!! Not the typical Detroit style pizza more of a New York style pizza. But some many good options. You can buy them buy the slice through the carryout area as well. Really enjoyed the garlic knots. We sat outside which was very nice. Parking seemed to be available on the street. We got the beast of Burden this time and really liked it. We will definitely be back and will recommend to others to try!!

Downtown to pickup our Detroit Free Press Marathon bibs so we reserved a table on Open Table at Mootz. So glad we did! It was 4:30 and Mootz was busy but we were immediately seated. The waitress introduced herself and provided excellent service. The restaurant appeared well staffed. We all ordered pasta and no one was disappointed. Everyone but me finished their's except me but I really enjoyed the cheese bread before the entree arrived. I plan to return.

Everything about this place was absolutely amazing. I mean from the top tier level of attention/ service, not only from the server but from the manager. The garlic knots are amazing and are a must try. The pizza was also delicious, and I love that they use the cupping pepperoni as well.

Went out to go shopping on an early Sunday afternoon and nothing was open so we decided to get a bite to eat. We saw a sign on Woodward for Mootz's so we decided to go there. We were greeted and seated immediately by a very polite and personable woman. We ordered the bruschetta for an app. It was so bright and refreshing and the balsamic glaze was amazing. A perfect sweetness to compliment the fresh tomatoes. I had Cajun salmon Alfredo and he had pasta primavera with salmon added. Perfect portion sizes. The salmon was amazing and the Alfredo was surprisingly light. I would definitely recommend anyone who enjoys great food come here and I'll certainly return.

Came with friends to try the pizza. Was able to make reservations which helped on a busy Saturday night. Pizza was pretty good. Really liked the garlic knots. Fun atmosphere and great service.

Went with some friends from out of town a few weeks back. Pizza was great we had a traditional pizza and sausage joint. My friends shared the salmon pasta. And enjoyed it. Prices were decent, has a bar and free parking attached. Waitress was extremely nice. Definitely will be back with my lady, great cook dinner date / chill with the homies vibe with good service.

This was a nice little pizza spot. I’m biased because I’m from NY and it was NY style pizza, but it didn’t really taste authentic, especially for the price. But the fungi pie was pretty good if you’re a mushroom lover (which I am). I’d recommend if you’re in the area and looking for a quick bite, but I’m not sure if I’d seek it out.

Cool ambiance, great service. We got the garlic knots, Greek salad, “The Uptown and the Bronx” and the Mediterranean pizza. The garlic knots and pepperoni pizza was top 3 best pizzas I’ve ever had! I’d skip the Mediterranean next time, it wasn’t what I was expecting. Highly recommend!

Pizza is pretty good. The spicy Hawaiian definitely needed more pineapple to offset the spicy flavor of the Buffalo sauce. The meatballs could use more spices in the meat to add better flavor. The Grind drink was the best espresso drink I've had in awhile. If your buying by the slice they usually have 4 options available for you.

Amazing pizza (and music!!). I love that they offer halal pepperoni! We enjoyed everything that we ordered and looking forward to coming back to try out the rest of the menu. Also big shout out to the DJ - keep up the great work! Guys in the kitchen were having a blast (you could hear them singing along) and you just know that when the people making your food are having a good time, you'll be served up some delicious food!

We went the other day. The pizza was great, I can't wait to go back and try their other dishes. A plus was the year round dog friendly patio

This place has been on my radar for awhile. Located in downtown and luckily was able to find parking directly in front. The pizza was thin crust and they had a unique topping choices you gently don't find at a typical restaurant. I read the comments and one con is the cost. The prices are high for what you're getting but the taste made up for it in my opinion. I would skip out on getting a beer at the prices that they're asking though. Besides that the service by Georgia was excellent and she had perfect timing when checking up on us. The look of the place had a modern meets 80s/90s with the artwork.

Had dinner and a drink at Mootz last night, and although it was SUPER busy due to multiple concerts in Detroit we had a great time. We had the meatballs, caprese salad (not pictured), margherita pizza, and a couple beers which were all quite good. The service however was incredible even during a huge crunch, so hats off to the gentleman that served us while being super attentive and very courteous. 10/10 would recommend and plan on returning.

If you're going to add 20% gratuity for a party of 5 then at least bring good service. Pizza was good, our bread app came out after the pizza and only after we asked for it. The dishes were never removed from the table. Match the service with your food. Oh and the parking validation didn't work so thanks for that.

Very tasty! I'm glad we discovered Mootz Pizzeria. It's our second visit and won't be our last. Katie, our server, took outstanding care of us both times!!!! Tonight's choices featured gnocchi, Mediterranean pizza, and Italian chopped salad. They were all delicious 😋! It's a great place...... fun and open late! Thank you Mootz!!!!! ( and Katie)

Fantastic pizza! Also had the garlic knots, but ate them too fast to get a picture. Make sure to put in a reservation. Anytime we've tried to walk in, it's an hour wait.

The pizza sauce was a little to heavy, drinks were good. Good place to fi if you want a pizza that's not traditional, many different types of pie.

Fancy pizza, nice ambiance, and kind staff! I accidentally found some ham stuck onto my veggie pizza which was a bit annoying having to wait for the kitchen to remake it. I would've appreciated some sort of courtesy discount for the inconvenience, but otherwise the food in itself is amazing and worth it for a nice date. Great food.

I had a Ninety Nine cocktail to start which was fresh and delicious. Then had the Truffled Bumblebee appetizer which was amazing.Totally an off the wall unexpected dish to see on this menu but it was to die for.We also had garlic knots and Mootz cheese bread as appetizer's.You can tell a good Italian joint by their marinara...it was top shelf.Everything was cooked perfecrly..perfectly.. was thin and crispy and flavorfull.I had the beast of burden and my buddy had the bee sting. Both were very tasty ..the hot honey on the bee sting really sets that pizza apart.I really liked this place, staff was great, facility was clean and the food was excellent.5 flames in my book! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Mootz is a great place for Pizza. I am vegan and I really loved the vegan (and gluten free) pizza. It was very good, and the cheese was melty. The regular pizzas were also very good, the crust was thin and crisp. Good options for toppings as well.

Very contemporary atmosphere. The hostess was extremely courteous and accommodating. Garlic knots are a must have. I could have ordered a second batch. This is not detroit style pizza like Google mentioned. That did not detract from the experience. Very spicy buffalo pizz, good draft selection. It did get a bit smokey from the ovens.

1st time there, I heard so much about it and wanted to see what the hype was all about. I didn't get to try the pizza this time around because we had eaten prior, so I just came for the drinks. The sangria pitcher was just enough for memories and catching up with friends. Highly recommend!

If you like thin and crispy pizza this will be your jam!! Absolutely loved the pepperoni pie and will be going back to taste some other pies. The staff in the afternoon where really friendly and nice.

Delicious, unique pizza here. We got the Garlic Knots to start - soft inside, crunchy outside, all the garlic you could dream of. Then we had: the Bee Sting (NYC pizza sauce, pepperoni, fresh mootzarella, fresh basil, hot honey) & the Juliet (Mootzarella, prosciutto, fig jam, balsamic glaze, green onions, pecorino, shaved parmesan) The crust had the perfect crunch and all the flavors were very balanced. All ingredients were fresh and of great quality. The staff was very friendly and helpful too!

Don't underestimate this place as simply a pizza joint. Firstly the pizza speaks for itself with it's delicious, crisp airy crust and unique topping combinations. The twist comes with the bar offering. I'm personally a bourbon drinker and was surprised they had over 30 brands stocked but also the quality selections for other cocktails sets this place apart. I'm a bit of a food and beverage guy and the bartender John was extremely knowledgeable about his craft. The place has a great vibe to start or end the night!
