If you ain't fearing for your life, then the good ain't worth it. Yeah the area is a little sketchy, but At Asty? The food is too DIE for! 🍛🍗 We talking mofongo that will have you more full than a mofo on-the-go. We talking plantains that will have you calling em platanos. We talking fried chicken that... in fact, you know what? Less talking, more eating! (Food prep could be quicker tho 👀) Anyway, if you aren't a pretentious, snooty person or just like good freaking food, then Asty is a no brainer. Get ready to experience your new favorite hole-in-the-wall.

I'm Dominican American from NY and I missed the Dominican food from over there. When I moved here in Michigan it was hard to find good authentic Dominican food. This restaurant ended all my cravings. They made me feel like I'm back home in NY. I really recommend this restaurant if you want to try something different.

I had some tasty pork chicharrones and tostones here! The mofongo was delicious as well, and the dulces de coco are very sweet. The pork was a tad overcooked but still good. The staff were very friendly.

My wife took me here. I met Mr. Asty and he was just so wonderful. He made me feel like family. I love the rice and beans, ripe and green plantains fried. The spicy creole shrimp was on point. I'm from the islands and the atmosphere was warm and friends just like being home. Definitely going back. Thanks, Mark

The food at Asty Time is excellent. I’ve been here more than a handful of times and I have never been disappointed. Honestly I’m lazy when it comes to writing reviews but I just felt compelled to share this with other fellow food lovers. Here are some dishes I’ve had: chicaharron with rice and beans (had this yesterday for the third time- my go to meal), mofongo (mashed plantain-Google the dish as it is one of my all time favorite dishes), maduros, and of course chicken. The Sancocho (soup) is perfect and if you have it with white rice you will fall asleep with a smile that same night 😊. Seriously folks the food is great and the owners are very nice and the cuisine is authentic of course (I’ve visited DR many times to know this and my wife is from DR who also agrees with me about Asty). Oh and the prices are more than reasonable… if it ever has a bar I’ll be there every week to watch sports to enjoy the food, the vibes, and the atmosphere. Hopefully you will visit Asty sometime and be as satisfied as I am. Enjoy!

Best Latin food in Detroit. I am from Puerto Rico, and I’ve been in the Detroit metro area for 10 years. If I want a taste from home, I go to Asty. Excellent mofongo, carne frita, pollo guisado… everything is great! So happy that they’re there.

Wow, wow, wow great tasting food. You want a Caribbean dish, this is the place no question about it. Don't knock it until you taste it. Lots of people say oh I can cook that dish, not like these.
