Tea Resort & Museum is a resort under Bangladesh Tea Board, located at 3km from Sreemangal city. The resort is constructed on more than 25 acres of green hills and hilltops, surrounded by tea estates and Lawacherra forest with captivating views. The resort is conveniently located near Sreemangal town, well-communicated with Dhaka, Chittagong, and Sylhet by road, rail, and air. All the bungalow was made during British time. The bungalows are very old fashioned,, but it's clean, spacious and does the work. Still, the bunglows need lots of renovations. The swimming pool looks quite clean.. swimming costumes are recommended to bring along, but it's not part of their pool rule. Sreemangal Tea Resort and Museum may be is your best option to stay, considering your interest in a natural hideout among hills where birds and (occasionally) monkeys might visit you. When you will stepped into the veranda, it will gives you a true feeling of being in a forest bunglow, with surrounding wilderness. Here breakfast complimentary with rooms. The food is not that good, neither is their breakfast. The resort also has a tea museum that showcases the history of tea production in Bangladesh. The museum is open to visitors and provides an opportunity to learn about the tea industry in Bangladesh.

Been here for the third time.. the bungalows are very old fashioned,, but it's clean, spacious and does the work. There are one double bed and one twin bed in each bungalows. They have rooms available, but haven't been inside.. The swimming pool looks quite clean.. swimming costumes are recommended to bring along, but it's not part of their pool rule.. The main issue is the food.. They take order, but they don't confirm until much later.. for BBQ menu they don't take order less than 15/20 people.. the food is not that good, neither is their breakfast.. their breakfast is limited but I found egg shells in their eggs today.. the quality of both food and tea used to be much better the last few times I came..

The resort and museum areas are just beside Hotel Grand Sultan. There are around 14 bungalows inside comprising Single bed room, Double & Triple ones. The view from the verandah of some of them are quite stunning. You will get the best views from bunglow no. 8, 9, 13 & 14. You can see the rear view of Grand Sultan alongside a beautiful hilly tea garden.

You just avoid this place. With two tiny rooms they make a Tea Museum with 20tk Entry ticket. It is just a cheating with public. If you go there once you will be must disappointed. Nothing special things to see this museum. From my view you should not go here.

If you consider the views of that area, it's really awesome and panoramic, cottages are huge for staying 8 adults, but the wash rooms are not equipped with modern fittings, and the swimming pool is under contraction. If the fittings can be changed, rooms are decorated/refurbished with modern fittings, number of support staffs can be increased, fastest services can be provided, variety in food menu can be introduced, it will be a very good/one of the best place for staying and enjoying the leisure at Sreemongol.

Room service and facilities are poor here. Rooms are filled with old version home appliances and furniture. Bathroom is not clean. Food quality is average. The restaurant resides in open area with very clingy look. Cats will have dinner or lunch with you as they get easy access to the restaurant. Overall outside environment is beautiful considering the natural beauty. They lack maintenance activity.

Nice for travel. Food taste nice. Inside view is exciting. Rent is reasonable. Inside road should be repaired. My child fall down while running. Resort Manager Mr. Doha is really a nice and helpful man. I suggest train Juouner if you go to this resort. Dining hall should be bigger and modern. You can buy good quality tea from here.

Undoubtedly a very beautiful place for stay. They've been renovated mostly. A few banglows are still carrying the looks and stuff from British colonial times. One who loves nature, a must recommended place for them. The winter season would be a good time to visit.

I had a wonderful experience at the hotel. Every staff member I encountered, from the entry to the check- in to the cleaning staff were delightful and eager to help! Thank you! Will recommend to my friends and family. We booked a two bedroom bungalow, which has 4 specious rooms and a big balcony. You can park the car in front of the bungalow. Heater and AC works perfectly. This is a perfect hotel to enjoy view of the tea garden. Truly an amazing place to enjoy.

Sreemangal Tea Resort and Museum may be is your best option to stay, considering your interest in a natural hideout among hills where birds and (occasionally) monkeys might visit you. The best part about this resort is the cottages, and the in-built facilities. Here's one fact to remember that these cottages are originally built for the stay of government officials of Bangladesh Tea Board, and only the best comfort has been ensured there provided they stay there. So, the cottages usually house 3 bedrooms (with separate washrooms), one living room, which are air conditioned. But the best portion will yet to be seen if you haven't stepped into the veranda, which gives you the true feeling of being in a forest bunglow, with surrounding wilderness and the gardens adjacent, and specially, the all-around open view (secured from insects by net) which is priceless. The rooms and other facilities are as good as you can ask for, in a considerably reasonable price. And the area is fully secured with the amazing feeling of forrest intact, with animals roaming confidently in their territory. The Tea Museum is situated within the are, the first building actually, facing the main gate. That is a must-visit place, considering the collection they have.

Definitely not recommend to stay here. Their worse part is the service. It's a government place. Everything inside is old and dirty. Breakfast is combined with only 3 items! Egg, parata, vegetable! And that's all! Lunch or dinner are expensive and tasteless. Swimming pool is average.

What you need to know is that this place is not the regular high- end luxury resorts. It offers a more natural view and a chance to stay in old villas made for British officers. Recently they have introduced some luxurious rooms. The place is beautiful with a calm environment. If you are okay with just enjoying the peaceful environment and you'd want to live in a bungalow that has vintage furniture, this might be a good place. The bungalows are at quite a distance from another so it offers privacy from other guests. The pool has a nice structure and design but it needs more cleaning. The view is beautiful, the bungalows are huge and cozy, the amenities in those rooms would make you frown though. Haven't received the best of service as we took our own vehicle to the bungalows and they didn't provide anyone to help with out luggage. The same thing happened while we were checking out, we were ready to leave and while they called us and told us what our check out time was, they didn't offer any help with our luggage. So we had to wait for our own vehicle to arrive to carry our belongings. All in all, not a fan of this place but would love to visit again if they make some noteworthy changes.

It gives you one bungalow with 2 bed rooms, 1 living room and 1 dining room with 1 veranda at a price for which you would need to pay 4 times in Grand Sultan. While the facilities might be better in that resort, this tea resort gives you good nature, playground. The bungalows are little old now. However, it gives value for money. I am giving 5 star comparing the price asked by other hotels for the same amnities.

Splendid natural scenery around the whole place. All necessary food places, tourist spots and markets are quite easily accessible from here. The food is delicious here however the range of food items are quite limited for breakfast and no food items are present for snacks. A quite large and renovated swimming pool is present in here right now. Overall a 4 star experience from my point of view.

The place is okay-ish, with pretty villas which were retro style. Could easily get comfy there. What was the real moodkiller tho', was the catering service. Horrendous. That's it. Lunch was too overpriced with badly overcooked steamed rice. Also had to call too many times just to get utensils. The complimentary breakfast also wasn't something to be excited about, with possibly the worst flavored tea that could be offered by the beloved tea-capital of our country.

Just came back from tea resort and museum managed by Bangladesh tea board. The location is huge and hilly and simply amazing. If you are a nature lover and want to stay amidst nature, you would love this place. We saw lots of monkeys, butterflies, squirrels, dragon flies and different birds. We also heard the howling of foxes and found their foot print at our doorstep the next morning. We stayed at the VIP bungalow number 7 kushiara. The bungalow is from the british era but recently renovated. It had 3 rooms. The master bedroom was huge with a huge bathroom with glass partition for shower space. The other bedrooms each have attached bathroom, tea garden view from window,a dresser and double and twin bed respectively. There was also a huge balcony with sofa and forest view, a dining + living space. Each bungalow has own wifi and parking. Our bungalow's parking had no shed. There is AC in each room and living space and there are three TVs, a hair dryer, a fridge, a microwave oven, an electric kettle and geyser in each bathroom. They provide tea bags, tea cups, tissues, shampoo, dental kit, soap and body lotion. The place was newly renovated and very clean. Due to being in nature, you may find some insects though but they provide aerosol. However, we found some questionable problems. For example, the fridge had a small dead cockroach. The towels had yellow mark. The sheets also had little spots although you can tell those were washed and cleaned. The pool is nice and fit for short non swimmers like myself as you can almost stand there and the water temperature is also pleasant. The jacuzzi is not live yet. Work is going on in pool area. Breakfast is basic and not very good. The porota is very thick and there is buter dal and omlete. They serve it at 9 although they say it starts at 8. The dining space is amidst nature or you can also ask to provide Breakfast in room but they do not provide any cutlery for room Breakfast and so there were only 2 plates already in room for 5 of us. There is a small museum. It's not bad as an activity within the resort. There are also swings with nice views. The whole compound is beautiful with trees and little hills and beautiful gardens full of flowers. Please note, the tea gardens are outside the resort. The resort is surrounded by them but you cannot visit them from within the resort. But, once you go out, you can enjoy walking in the teagardens. We paid 15000+15%vat+5% service charge for the bungalow. However, the service was completely missing. Our housekeeping guy seldom pick up the phone. Despite asking to ask someone to clean the entrance due to mud brought by foxes, it was never done. Whenever we needed anything and called him, he did not pick up. He also could not provide us any utensil for breakfast. We had to call the manager and he would then help us. When we entered, the guard gave us the key to the bungalow. No one from the resort accompanies you to your bungalow. If you bring a car, the place will be best for you. Or else, be prepared to walk a lot. Even with a car, you must walk around the compound at day time to feel the beautiful nature and experience the wildlife. Driver Accomodation available. It costs around 700 with breakfast and vat and service charge. We had our lunch and dinner outside. So, cannot comment on food other than breakfast. Overall, I highly recommend this place to nature lovers. I will be back. There is big room for improvement for service though

It is a place where you can enjoy couple of days with your friends and family. This resort was developed in British period meaning before 1947, hence infrastructure bit old. However renovation is going on. Within first quarter of 2019, new swimming pool will be opened. There are 13 cottages. Cottage no 10 & 13 are three bed rooms and rest are two bed rooms. Cottage number 10 is already renovated and others will be completed one by one. You can visit Lawachara National Park (forests) and Finlay Tea Estate. Note: There is no Bar.

What an amazing place! Enjoyed my 4 heavenly days in a bunglow with some of my friends. The bunglow is awesome. All the things are nicely arranged, decorated and clean. The staffs are so friendly. The food menus and serving system are way more better than any other 5 Star hotel. And The place is just a heaven. The resort is in the center point of all the small tea estate. The natural hilly view of the resort makes it more lucrative!

One if the oldest resort in Sreemangal but still the best. You wanna see 🦊 Foxes around you then this is the place to stay over. Drive in the middle of the night beside Tea garden sure would be thrilling.

An exceptional resort in Sreemongol unlike others. In some regards way better than Grand Sultan. Scenic beauty is amazing but the service is not good. Although a bit old, the bungalows are well maintained with all modern amenities like A/Cs and geysers. The swimming pool has been renovated recently. If you don't care much about service but want to enjoy a serene stay amidst nature then this might be the ideal resort for you. I was there for 1 night in 2 bed room bungalow 1st January.loved the resort as it surrounded by nature.Staff's behaviour was nice but they should improve their food quality and restaurant area though its not permanent. Also during winter there should have room heating option.

Awesome place to spend the holidays. A bit expensive but worth the money. The staff are helpful and their behavior is polite. Highly recommend.

The resort is surrounded by beautiful tea gardens. Bungalows are available within affordable price. The chirping of birds and the greenery of this resort will fascinate you. There are a few more spots to visit next door. There are green gardens and lakes worth visiting. Besides, the roads around the tea garden are very beautiful.

This resort was established in the British period and recently got adopted by Bangladesh tea board. This huge area offers some amazing large bungalow to spend your vacation. One can enjoy the raw beauty of sreemangal and tea gardens from these bungalows. Some parts of this place are still under construction and not fully opened. Nevertheless the rest of the place is enough to cheer up ones mood.

What a place! I think we've covered 70% of sreemongol just by visiting this awesome resort. The location of this resort is fantastic.I just loved the view from the window. This resort is situated inside a huge tea garden.Whole area is surrounded by Tea Gardens. It is most probably one of the biggest resorts of Shylhet. But one thing is to improve here is that the room service is not very up to the mark but it's quite understable as the resort is huge itself and pretty tough to transport things from one cottage to another. The resort has more than 18 cottages which is pretty well equipped with modern technologies. You can also play tennis, badminton, cricket, football here. The staff can make all the necessary arrangements. The swimming pool is stiI under construction. I heavily recommend people to visit this place.Worth Staying...❤️ Peace

It's the most calm and beautiful resort in aspect of it's natural beauty ... Have playground, gardens, swimming pool too... Perfect for family who like to be in a peaceful place during tour...

The only reason I would stay here is if someone laid me to. The service is like. They don't clean their rooms. There are so many bugs inside the room. The place is absolutely disgusting and a pitiful excuse for a resort. And I heard the museum is completely underwhelming.

  • 3/5 Navila A. 1 year ago on Google
It's a very old resort with limited modern settings but well kept. Certain services were not available but that was adjustable. Compared to the room rate, even some amenities were missing, it was understable.

Super disappointing... I have a very personal attachment with this place with lots of memories from childhood... But this time it really disappointed me. We planned to visit Sreemangol with a bunch of kids hence I checked about the swimming pool before booking and their manager confirmed that the pool is open and Operational. But when we went their we found the pool was out of service for 2 days and they didn’t even bother to inform us beforehand. We ordered lunch before we reached the venue and they prepared it well ahead but the quality of meat was below standard and food tatse was average. They have complimentary Breakfast (parara, egg omlet, daal bhuna and tea)... Trust me with such expensive room this breakfast menu seemed very poor. They have renovated their rooms and that is the only good thing about this resort now... But the rooms had really Big Lizards, and spiders inside the house

It's a very nice place, the food is very good.. the service is good... they prepare the food very well. there is a play area for children.. many more things are good.. You can go with family members or relatives, friends and all will have fun at the tea resort.

I visited this resorts and museum earlier also but this time I am impressed with the newly built canteens, seminar hall, swimming 🏊‍♀️ pool and some vip rooms. They have also launched a kid's zone in open place, which is naturally beautiful 😍.

This place is operated commercially by Bangladesh tea board. The area is huge. Lots of cottages to spend the weekend with family and friends. The ups and downs of internal roads gives you a feel of hill. The area is surrounded by tea garden. Quiet place to spend the evening. The main building adjacent to swimming pool has many VIP and VVIP rooms with dinning facility. Although renovation and facility development is under process, still a good place to visit and spend the weekend.

Has number of old banglow type cottage with spacious rooms. But this are old and not having modern home appliances. Some having tea garden view from cottage sone are not. You can park car beside your cottage. In terms of price service is not good. Everyday they provide same breakfast no variation, make charge full for children. Even they cgarge for swimming pool for children 1200 BDT/day. Lunch and dinner cost is high. To stay 1/2 days are ok but not more than that.

Sreemongal Tea Resort is a perfect blend of comfort and nature. The beautiful tea garden surrounding the resort is breathtaking. The rooms are cozy and well-furnished, and the food is delicious. The staff is friendly and accommodating. A must-visit for a peaceful getaway!

I recently stayed at the Bangladesh Tea Board resort in Srimangal and was impressed by the luxurious amenities and comfortable bungalows. The staff provided excellent service and made me feel right at home. I chose this resort for its serene and peaceful environment, and it certainly lived up to my expectations until a group of guests arrived and started using loudspeakers and microphones. While I was disappointed by this unexpected turn of events, the resort staff promptly addressed my concerns and took appropriate measures to minimize the disturbance. I appreciate the prompt action taken by the resort staff to ensure that all guests could enjoy a peaceful and relaxing stay. It is evident that the staff genuinely cares about the well-being of their guests and strives to provide excellent service. Overall, I highly recommend the Bangladesh Tea Board resort to anyone looking for a tranquil getaway in the heart of tea estates. The resort's dedication to ensuring guest satisfaction and comfort is truly commendable, and I look forward to returning for another enjoyable stay in the future.

Bunglows are old. Service is so far good. They have shallow water swimming pool here. But the food is super expensive according to quality. Breakfast is very poor.

The room rent is too high compared to the facilities and service. I stayed at their new building. They have some bungalows too. Swimming pool size is small. water was not temperature controlled although they say 5 star. So it is not possible to use during winter. The complementary breakfast was not up to the mark. Also, the extra bed provided was not of standard quality. They could not provide badminton racket when asked for. The location and the quietness are the only positive sides of the resort..

Tea Resort & Musium is a resort under Bangladesh Tea Board, located at 3km from Sreemangal city. Here 15 bungalow and 5 rooms available. The swimming pool is awesome. Here breakfast complimentary with rooms. Foods are good but for food you need to order beforehand or when they call you, you need to confirm the order. Here a small museum available. All the bungalow was made during British time.
