It takes a bit of Google mapping to find this site but worth a visit. It costs €3.50 per adult to enter and visit this stunning historic well. It's history is even more spectacular (worth getting leaflets information from the entrance office) designed by Dutch artist, Claus Sluter. This was part of the Carthusian monastery of Chartreuse de Champmol and as a burial site of the Burgundian Duke Philip The Bold (Phillipe le Hardi whose burial is now housed in the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Dijon). This is a spectacular piece of fantastic work of sculptures of prophets and angels on a hexagonal base. The figures are of Moses, David, Jeremiah, Zachariah, Daniel and Isaiah with six weeping angels. You can still see the water on the base. It's a peaceful enclosure to spend time admiring the painted and gilded figures. Absolutely recommended for all ages to explore. It's inside the psychiatric hospital, La Chartreuse, of Dijon.

Impressing place inside the square of former abbey. 6 statues forming the basic monument of the pond - very realistic faces and detailed clothings and accessories. Problem: opening hours at the regular entry hall not valid. Had to take an open gate beside to enter the garden where the pond is sheltered inside a glass building. I recommend to visit the chapel nearby - entry from outside the yard.

Warning: Reservation in advance is required. It's really nice and the guide tells you the history of the well and the surroundings and the remains are to be found in the Museum in the Ducal Palace. I gave it 4 and not 5 stars because the way to get there is a freaking nightmare! It's not clearly marked at all and Google maps didn't help either. Getting out of the place was an even bigger hassle!!! I guess it would be nice if you have a car and then you can have a picnic there in the gardens. They say that it's a hospital but it's not in operation.

A very disappointing experience. Walked all the way from the centre of town to find this all locked up. And nobody about. The area itself is odd, in the middle of some psychiatric hospital. There was a large open gate we were able to walk through to see the well, behind glass. Save your time.

Spectacular group of beautiful carved more then life size sculptures of six prophets who foretold the coming and crucifixion of Christ. They were made by Dutch sculptor Claes Sluter in the 14th century for a well in a cloister court and were famous on their time and after. Now they are protected by a small glass house which is open until 18:00 It,s situated on the grounds of a large hospital complex and free to visit.

Seemed impossible to get in. Perhaps it is better to save your time and go somewhere else.
