House in the former Church of Saint Etienne, it's a small museum but really impactful of works by or dedicated to the famous sculptor, François Rude. It's free and it's worth visiting. The first thing I noticed was the gigantic life size plaster cast of La Marseillaise from the Arc de Triomphe of l'Étoile in Paris. There are several busts and statues and most intriguing is the second room with the old castrum of Dijon with an archeological crypt and its gate. This section is gated off from the public but you can still marvel at its display framed by the old church's spectacular apse with its beautiful lancet windows. Absolutely worth visiting.

Great free museum, I stumbled upon it by chance but the sculpture by François Rude are spectacular and are definitely worth seeing. It's small but these are big figures of French history and he's also famous for his sculpture on the arc de triomphe which faces you as you walk in. Loved it

Super super tiny, one main room with sculpture and the other is the ruins of the church. If you know that going in then you'll be fine but don't expect a lot to keep you busy! The huge sculpture is really impressive and worth seeing if you're around.

Small but exquisite museum showcasing Rude’s sculptures in an atmospheric setting. Free entry. Definitely recommend if you have a little bit of extra time on your hands.

Not a large museum, but it's free and near everything else, so definitely worth a visit. The photo I've uploaded shows pretty much the entire museum.

We went in by mistake; it was starting to rain and we ran to the entrance for shelter. At the entrance, I was awed by the sculptures, on the door we read entry was free so we went in. Our boy got interested in the pamplets in the reception when the receptionist opened her window, said hallo and that we shouldn't touch anything. My boy doesn't know French and so he just stared at her. A conversation ensues between my husband and receptionist; asking about where we come from, etc. She then opened a new box of assorted cookies, asked our kids (4.5yr & 6.5yr) to pick one, she packs a second and asks my husband and I to also pick one. We say thank and went on further looking around and munching the cookies ( they were soooo good). Am really glad that this "mistake" visit happened.

Despite it being a small museum; only two rooms, it's still super splendid! You can see in the photos the beauty of the statues inside! I really recommend passing by and having a look there. Such a special city; dijon!

A small place with not many options to see. But the masterpiece can take one about an hour as its huge. The entry is free and one should go there as its next to a nice church.

Probably 15-20minute visit that seem to start and stop in an entryway. Two dozen Sculptures he created are on display. Some, like Bonaparte with eagle, is moved here from park. And other like facade of arches are brought here. The frescoes on the church building interior still struggling to hold some color of its past glories.

Free entrance for this small but impressive museum within a cave. A dozen of sculptures and the remains of a former church. Great stop next to the iconic Place de la Libération

So interesting! But really small. Seems like it's inside an old church
