We went for a premium tour here and it was excellent very informative and excellent value for money. I only wish I could remember the tour guides name because he was superb he had really good customer interaction. At the end of the tour we got to sample 4 really good whiskeys and got a free glass as well. I can highly recommend this when in Dublin. The only downside for us was the height as my wife really bad fear of heights and couldn’t complete the tour (maybe they should do the tasting 1st 🤣) they gave us an immediate refund excellent customer service thank you.

What a fun museum! We had a educational but the most fun tour at the Irish Whiskey museum. Our guide was Donal and he had a great interaction with whole group and was really funny. A great way of representing the history. We had a premium tour and got five whiskey’s to taste and got a tasting glass.

A unique experience in Irish Whiskey Museum with a tour guide. The tour guide was excellent and the people that gave us all the information of the museum and for the whiskey was extra professional with knowledge of the history and very kind. We taste four different types of whiskies and we take a special gift as we participate the tour. The price was fare enough but after our visit there we learn that there are others distilleries in the city cheaper and oldest. Although we don't regret our visit. FYI: Buy your tickets earlier or check the timeslots so you will not have to wait.

Great little spot. Went in on a whim and was very pleased we did. The bar upstairs has an excellent selection of whiskey at pretty decent prices. Staff were super friendly, I had the full house flight which was great. The tour was well done and interesting, our guide was excellent and made the tour interesting and fun. I would recommend it to anyone if you are in the area. You can do a non-alcoholic version of the tour, they have a good Irish Coffee too.

We took part in a 1.5 hr tour, our guide was amazing, very energetic and emotionally driven. The tour was highly informative - especially for someone who's 1st whiskey tasting is here. Make sure to bring some water with you.

Such a fun tour! Very interactive and informative. My tour was hosted by Colm (pronounced Collum) but it’s Irish so 🤷🏾‍♂️😂🙌🏾 I joke but he was really cool and really good. The tour was €23 and came with three whiskey tastings at the end. Very worth it.

Perfect first day stop! A guided tour as they have no information posted, the tour is as good as the guide… and lucky for us our guide was GREAT and well versed and able to answer questions. The guide was informative and humorous. :) The premium whiskey tasting is worth the upgrade of €3 with an extra shot of whiskey and the souvenir glass. Really enjoyed the bar and an old fashioned made perfectly! A MUST see experience for adults!

Great place to visit. The tour is entertaining and informative, get a few whiskeys at the end. The little bar is reasonably stocked and while the shop is more expensive than the off-licence, it's not by a lot. The tour isn't long but paired with a visit to a nearby pub or restaurant and you'll have a great day out. If you're in to whiskey, it's a great little tour and recommend it.

Nice experience. In the middle of city centre. A foot step from popular Grafton Street. Opposite to Trinity College. Our guide gave us many information about whiskey history. It was quite entertaining. He made a nice theatrical performance during his attempt to explain what was happening when alcohol consuming was forbidden. I would recommend to book earlier your ticket as you may not find if you go for a last minute booking. Excellent experience whiskey tasting by the end of the tour. Could not have finished in a better way!

The Irish Whiskey Museum has a great entrance which must be good at drawing in passers by. However, we pre-booked our tour before arriving in Dublin and decided on the Premium Tour. Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly face and given all the details we needed about our tour. As we were a little early, we were advised that we could get a drink in the bar and we could take it on the tour with us. I was hoping to try the Powers 16 Single Cask but they didn't have it, so I chose the Red Spot 15 year. Shortly after our tour started. We made our way upstairs led by our guide, John. John was very friendly and knowledgeable. He explained the history of whiskey and Irish Whiskey. We visited a number of themed rooms before getting on to the whiskey tasting. Each whiskey was explained in some detail as we tasted each one. At the end of the tour we we given our souvenir glasses and told there was no rush to leave. We were able to take pictures of their fantastic collection of old bottles and make our way back to the bar. As a visitor attraction, it's probably worth visiting if you don't have time to visit the other distilleries as some of the story will be repeated. However, the themed rooms are a great part of the experience and the selection of whiskies available in the bar are great. No need to have a museum tour to drink there.

One of the coolest whiskey tours I have ever been on. It was really me hearing about the history of the wake and really a broad idea of whiskey and how whiskey is made. It was also really nice that we got to try whiskeys from multiple distilleries instead of just one distillery. Really enjoyed it and would highly recommend for anyone who enjoyed whiskey.

Nice Irish Whiskey Museum in the City of Dublin, makes an Amazing Whiskey Experience, you learn much about history of Whiskey from the past to now, you can try 3 Whiskeys if your ordered the normal tour and 4 Whiskeys when you ordered the premium tour. Absolutely amazing. Special thanks on the Guide if think his name was Dan, he was amazing.

This Irish Whiskey Museum is a BLAST! I was skeptical at first, but as soon as you see the walkway entrance, you know this place is legit. It is truly beautiful. It feels like the gates to Valhalla. They honor all of the Irish Whiskey greats on the entrance. Each barrel lid represents a different Whiskey. The staff are friendly and helpful, as well as very good natured and humorous. They feature a daily joke, which are whitty and funny. The tour prices are not bad at all. Be sure to bring your student ID if you have that available. The museum does have 2-3 floors, and it is very beautiful decorated. They have famous quotes on the wall from very famous Whiskey drinkers. The Mark Twain Quote is a personal favorite. The tour itself is very enjoyable and entertaining. Our guide, Leo, was very good company and a bit of a wise guy. He was a treat for the tour. He gave me a hardtime for being an American, but it was all good natured. He was very knowledgeable about his heritage and his countries golden nectar of the gods, Whiskey. I thoroughly enjoyed myself on this tour and I would highly recommend it to anyone in Dublin. Even if one is a local, this is truly a treat in the Heart of Dublin. They have some great real Irish Whiskeys on site for purchase. I would recommend Powers. I really found that one quite delicious. This is a great business, I highly recommend this company and I would visit again!

We had a great tour at the Irish Whiskey museum. Donal was our guide and did an amazing job giving us the history. Inaction with our group was fun and friendly. Whiskey tasting was top notch and they had a nice gift shop. I would recommend getting the 5 tastes and free tasting glass for the $3 difference.

We were totally unprepared for how delightful this was – went in just expecting a tasting and got a thorough and entertaining history of whiskey in Ireland from the very charismatic and funny guide. Really immersive, informative and fun, with great whiskey to top it off.

A great tourist trap that prepared us for our first week in Ireland. A very good guide who was interesting and a good storyteller. I don’t like whisky but I liked the story. Probably not for the expert whisky drinker, but a great crash course to Irish whisky and the story behind. This was a spontaneous find and we were not disappointed.

The tour guide was very nice and he explained to us each and every step for the preparation of whisky. I expected that there would be more options for whisky tasting but there were only 3 options in the classic package. The overall experience was good. I would personally recommend that you first visit the Guinness and the Jameson distillery and after that if you have time available then do visit this place. Cheers 🍻

The narrator/tour-guide was very nice and funny, It takes around 2 hours to know the whole story of the Irish whiskey, don’t expect to see many things as it is more about the story telling, You get to test whiskey by the end of the tour and that depends on the price of ticket you buy! If you don’t drink buy the cheapest one because the price depends on how many drinks you get!

Terrific Whiskey and Brunch Experience! On a first glimpse it may sound odd to go for a Whiskey tasting at 10 a.m. in the morning, followed by a brunch. However, we were the first group to enter the doors in the morning, enjoyed an entertaining and highly interesting tour and learned from the best on how to taste Whiskey and our personal preferences. We had brunch right after the tasting which set us off for a great start to the day. I absolutely loved the visit to the Irish Whiskey Museum and highly recommend to pay them a visit. - it is worth while. Staff are all very friendly and one can see that they enjoy what they do. Thanks again for having us and for introducing us to the world of IRISH Whiskey 😀

The rich Jewish history of Ireland is conveyed exceptionally well at the museum, and the guides are outstanding for their wealth of knowledge and clear dedication to their work. This is also the best place to visit in order to understand the current situation of Irish Jewry.

I love this place, oh My God , there are so many people who are still not aware of this amazing place, if you love history, and love meeting other cultures and been inspired, this is a place for you. I longed for years to see it, and when I did it was one of the happiest days of my life, I was so awestruck by the impact of history on one place and how it is a very important place its impact on you makes you realise the people of history that lived and live among us with incredible stories of survival against the odds, and very deep connections of Dublins Dublins Irish Jewish past in the area were the museum is situated, I have brought a few friends up to it many times and they all had a very good experience, not far from the museum there is also a pretzel cafe too, but if you find yourself in Dublin and you have a few hours free go into it, just check the opening hours before you do so that you can get to see it.

We walked from our hotel in the city center to visit the museum. Hidden away on a side street in a residential area, this tiny museum is worth a visit if you have roots in the history of the Jewish people. The docents are friendly, the isles are tiny, but, this museum packs an emotional touch. I knew nothing of the history of the Jewish people in Ireland. This museum tells the history of an entire community. The displays are excellent. The story of Chaim Weitzman and his ties to Dublin and this Dublin Jewish community are interesting and very informative.

The Irish Jewish Museum is a small collection of artefacts and articles of the Jewish community in Ireland housed in a former synagogue and residence in Portobello. The winter opening hours are very limited (Sunday mornings/early afternoons only) and the cover charge is €5, so be prepared. There are some lovely objects here, including an 18th century ark cover. A poignant sense of the dwindling community pervades the place. Staff are friendly and very willing to share their knowledge.

It was interesting to see the Jewish history in Ireland and see how people live in the early 19th Century. Also the museum had a musty smell which did invoke memories of old Dublin something you'd never forget after growing up with it.

Great tour, lots of Whiskey tasting. If you buy the premium you get to taste 4 times the last premium one being aged for 12 years and you get a small whiskey glass as a present. Our guide Eion was absolutely funny, he should get a raise and do stand up more often. His tour is the spectacular!

We were in Dublin over a bank holiday weekend and most of the Whiskey distilleries were fully booked. Our tour guide recommended the museum and I'm so glad that we went. The guide provided the history of Whiskey and the difference between types. There are a few rooms that take you through the history then there is a tasting. We went for the premium tasting for 23 Euros and it was worth it. We already recommended it to friends who are going to Dublin later this year.

We had the best time here and I don’t even like whiskey. I went because my husband does but I went ahead and bought a ticket so he could also have my tasting. (Our hotel was just around the corner). It was thoroughly entertaining, educational and I actually enjoyed the whiskeys! Who knew that it was the Scotch whiskeys I really didn’t like! Paddy was our guide and he was great! Get the premium package. It’s just 3 euros more. You get a fourth tasting and a whiskey glass .

A wonderful experience with a great measure of humour while taking you through the history of Irish spirits. Can't remember our guide's name but he was amazing. I recommend the Premium experience, but make sure to have something to eat before the tasting. ;) The souvenir shop is well stocked with premium brands of whiskeys which is great when you finish the tour a bit tipsy. Would definitely come again.

One of the must do stops when in Dublin, Not only you get to enjoy a big selection of Irish whiskey but you get to know the history of the country through the whiskey trade stages I do recommend the mixology tour, euro 35 per person totally worth the extra euros you pay compared to the other tours Tim our guide had a sense of humor which made our experience extra great. Do not do the tour on empty stomach, there will be plenty of tasting

My boyfriend and I had a great time visiting! Before the tour we got a cocktail at the bar; I had the whiskey sour and he got the IPA boiler maker. We really enjoyed both, along with the live music playing while we were there. The tour itself was great! Briain started off with a debrief on the history and was so engaging. Donal then picked it up and was extremely knowledgeable and funny. We did the blending tour so we got to try four whiskeys and then make and bring home our own small bottle. We had an excellent experience. Would definitely recommend! They do a great job.

Fantastic, really enjoyed our visit! Simple, fun and with a lot of history. For an Irish fellow Matthew (hope I’m spelling it right) had a hint of British humor on him which gave the tour a special shine to the experience! The only thing I’d recommend would be to go a little lower on the heating at the entrance, it was unbearably warm to the point that we had to go out to wait for the tour to start. The rest of the tire was fine it was just that entrance. Overall we think it was a good value for our money

Amazing place to visit. Our tour guide Matthew was hilarious and very informative. Our tour delved into the history of whiskey (Uisce beathe), how it was made, its role in small social gatherings, why whiskey is aged, and how the Irish Whiskey companies developed. The premium whiskey tasting was exciting as you try four very different flavours of whiskey, with guidance on tasting etiquette and how to make the most of each whiskey. Definitely worth a visit. The staff are extremely friendly and make your tour group feel very welcome, especially experiencing and learning about Irish culture.

100% can recommend. We did a class on making an Irish coffee and the staff was so lovely. Frank was great! 😂 We got a lot of information on Irish Whisky in general and then decided to do a little tasting at their bar. This was so much better than hitting the regular bars since they are super busy in the evening and they don’t really have the time to talk to you about the different brands and types! So if you want to take your time tasting and talking about Whisky, that’s the place to go.

Wonderful Irish Whiskey learning tour with reasonable price. Students get discount tho. It is recommended to pick the premium tour with few bucks extra so that you could have 4 types of Whiskey to try instead of 3 types if choosing the classic tour, also you could get a souvenir worth €6 inclusive for the premium tour. This is an independent whiskey museum therefore no specific whiskey brand being promoted, instead exposure to taste different types of whiskey to find the individual preference. Shannon, the guide was friendly & humour while talking through all the whiskey history and I now learned why is it so called "saved by the bell"! Highly recommended!

I had to live in Dublin 25 years before I discovered this amazing little museum in the most beautiful quarter of Dublin, Portobello Great tour explained by our guide, an elegant and very hospitable and knowledgeable sweet lady. We will definitely go back

Visited this little museum while visiting Dublin last year with my sister and 9 year old nephew. We had a lovely guided tour of the museum, with personal stories and conversation. We expected to learn more about our Irish heritage while on this trip, but it was so great to also show my nephew (and us) more about his Jewish heritage. 100% would recommend after the pandemic!

(Translated by Google) The best are the volunteers of this small museum. They are very interested in explaining the history of the Jews in Dublin and the museum that was once a synagogue (and still can be visited). We did the tour Sunday morning @ 10:30am. Unfortunately, they can't serve liquor early, so we had to attend with a dry mouth. The tour was very informative and entertaining. Our tour guide (Evan?) had a lot of great stories, facts and history. At the end of the tour (after the tasting), we noticed that several of the fellow tour attendees did not touch their samples. Evan was kind enough to allow us to help him "clean up" the mess. Need less to say, we left with smiles on our faces. We highly recommend a visit and the tour.

This museum has one of the best tours for learning about the history and distilling process with regards to Irish Whiskey. In about an hour you can learn about the history of Irish whiskey, the progression of the distilling process for whiskey as well as learn about the key contributors to the history of whiskey. Definitely learned a lot on this tour. Finish up with some whiskey tasting of various whiskeys, where you also learn how to taste and appreciate the flavors of whiskey. The tour guide Laura was very helpful and knowledgeable and made it very interesting and fun while educating the group. This was truly a great experience and a must do/see if you're planning to visit other distilleries as well. I'd start with this experience first.

Really great experience and didnt put a hole in my pocket. Bought the premium tour tickets online. The guide Luke was really exceptional. Funny, polite and very informative. I'm not a whiskey drinker and I dont like whiskey but it was still a great experience!

Definitely a fun thing to do during your day in Ireland. The tour guide was entertaining and funny. Learned a lot about history of whiskey. We did the the whiskey Blend option for $30 and I think it was worth it.

We had a great experience with our tour guide. She was very knowledgeable on the history of distilling Irish whiskey and the historical events leading up to the current Irish whiskey scene. Down to earth and was a pleasure to chat with. Visited the bar before the tour. Bartender was funny and recommended a couple whiskeys which we tried. Overall a fun, enjoyable experience.

We arrived early and thankfully they were kind enough to let us take an earlier tour. Overall the tour was pretty fun. Maybe one of the funnest brewery tours I've been on so far. The host was very charismatic, charming, and of course knowledgeable. They did a great job presenting and taking us through the various rooms. I honestly felt like the room before the tasting wasn't as enjoyable because it took away from the host! But I felt like I got my money's worth, and got to try a few fair whiskey's at the end. Feel bad that I've forgotten their name but it was a lady with black hair. She did great 👍🏾

Had a wonderful experience learning the history of Irish Whiskey. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and interactive with the group. I think the premium is worth the upgrade to get an extra whiskey tasting and a nice keepsake glass.

The one hour premium tour was a lot of fun and worth the price. Our tour guide, Colum, was very entertaining and shared lots of interesting information with us before leading us through a tasting of 4 different whiskeys. We also got very cute Irish Whiskey glasses on the premium tour - I was unsure what kind of quality we would get but they look great and are a lovely souvenir!

One of the best places to go in Dublin as a tourist! By booking the one-hour tour, not only do you get some informative history about whiskey and Ireland, but you get to try 3+ samples of whiskey. Highly recommend asking for Noel as your tour guide for he is incredibly funny and knowledgeable, making the whole tour so much fun! He truly made it a memorable experience. If you're looking to save a few euros, there is an Early Bird special if one decides to take a tour before noon. Fair warning ⚠️ it is enough alcohol to make one a little tipsy, but you can also choose to just take a small sip from each glass instead.

We visited the Irish Whiskey Museum in early January as a birthday treat for someone who's a big fan of Whiskey. Having visited some of the well known distilleries in Dublin I still didn't know what to expect since the museum appears deceptive from the outside. Located across the road from Trinity College, you walk down a mid-lit path until you reach a set of stairs or a well maintained lift for those of restricted mobility. As our trip was a gift I decided to go for the best tour- Blending. This is done twice a day 4 & 6 and has limited spaces available so I'd recommend booking in advance especially around weekends or public holidays. After climbing the 1st set of curved stairs you arrive at the reception area where you check in & wait for your tour guide and a small bar. You can also spend a bit of time in the shop where you'll find a great range of Irish produced whiskeys in both full and sample size bottles. From there we climbed another set of winding stairs to the start of the tour where we were led through the wide & varied history of Uisce Beatha (Water of Life) where you might also come across a much loved Irish character. After this we were brought into the blending room where we sampled 4 different types of whiskeys & got to blend them to our own personal tastes and bring home whatever was left (ours was accompanied by some tasty chocolate eclairs later that night!). I do recommend getting into this room 1st to ensure you get the best seat (depending on your own needs). Our tour guide was brilliant, she was great at weaving the stories & pulling you into the atmosphere of each timeline. Whilst I'm not a whiskey drink my friend very much enjoyed the blending session & have found an interest in some of the newer distilleries that we plan to visit at some stage. Highly recommended, have fun!

Very fun experience! I was worried of getting into a tourist trap, but it was indeed quite fun and with fun interesting stories. They also make it very dynamic so you will definitely enjoy if you are into whiskey and learning the particular perspective from Ireland.

Wonderful experience. U get to learn many more about Irish whiskey’s histories. How whiskeys are made and you get to learn how to really taste 👅 whiskey 🥃. Paul is an excellent Guide. This tour worth every penny. Make sure u book in advance.

My visit to this museum was the highlight of my trip. Andrew took us on a beautiful trip, explaining the history of Irish whisky with the most exciting storytelling skills one might ever see! One can easily live the moment, be captured by his funny and smart jokes, and enjoy the overall welcoming atmosphere. In short, this visit was worth every penny I paid and much more! The whisky I tasted were also in a generous quantity.

A great experience. Our guide Matt was great fun and learnt the history. Then a delicious tasting of a great variety. Extra bonus of a glass to keep by doing the premium experience

This place is a little tucked away, but it was so fun. We had Andrew as a tour guide, and he was amazing. The experience is fun and a little kitschy, but it is very well thought out and presented. We had a lot of fun, and even if you aren't drinking, it was well worth the cost of the ticket. Additionally, there is a bar! There are tons of options for Irish whiskey, flights available, etc. They had delicious Irish coffee. Definitely a great place to spend an hour or two.

Fantastic museum. Can't go wrong with Whiskey. Afterwards, we tried 2 of the best Irish Whiskeys, according to the bar keep, from these parts. We tried the Middleton 21 YO and Redbreast 27 YO. Great tastings. These 2 are single pot tripe distilled. Great tastes and even better with a drop of H2O.

Before this tour I knew very little about whiskey production and history and I learnt so much in a fun way! Time flew and our tour guide was funny and interesting. Highly recommend if you want to learn some facts and taste 3 or 3 whiskeys! If you book the premium tour a little whiskey glass will be gifted.

  • 5/5 Lorri 7 months ago on Google
Can't remember what the tour guide told us to Call-Him... 👀 Tour is so entertaining and a good laugh. It was a last minute decision to attend due to it being a rainy day in Dublin and I highly recommend it even on a sunny day. It was great to learn about the history of whiskey (and how amazing it is) As I'm hearing impaired, I wanted Colm to wear a mic that's connected to my hearing devices and he was more than happy to do so! Would honestly go back just to do another tour with him.

  • 5/5 Daria 7 months ago on Google
We were having a really great time here. Thanks to Andrew, we could learn about the history of whiskey in a funny and easy way. I can highly recommend the premium tour, the difference in price is small but you can taste one more whiskey and you will get a small glass as a gift.

  • 5/5 Andrew S. 5 months ago on Google
Not really sure what we expected, but from the start to the finish the tour and tasting was stellar. A lot of that had to do with Matt our tour guide and tasting host. Personable, affable and bloody hilarious, he walked us through the history of whiskey making with humour and hilarity. The whiskey was also really good. Thank you for a wonderful experience!!

We popped in on a whim in after seeing the Book of Kells and wow, this place is already a highlight of our trip. Our guide, Dan, was energetic and hilarious (although also almost uncomfortably loud), and the experience itself was whimsical and informative. Definitely go for the premium tour over the base because the extra whiskey you get in the tasting will be an expensive pour everywhere else.

  • 3/5 Joshua O. 3 months ago on Google New
Tour guide was great and seemed very knowledgeable about the history of whiskey. Be ready to listen to a proper talk about the history of whiskey. Your got more interesting once the actual whiskey tasting got underway
