We showed up at 450pm... they close at 500p. We were told we could stay until 515p. I think there was service. It's a really cool space with a lot of history. Even if you don't have a lot of time...its worth the stop. It's 9€ to enter as an adult. Beautiful interior. We also were able to hear the choir warming up

Naturally this is a striking and worthwhile visit to a near ancient landmark and institution. The grounds surrounding should not be missed either. All a walk through history and flora and the saints of old. Church staff and self tour representatives are helpful and kind… You can purchase tickets online easily and often for the same day if you simply Google tickets for St. Patrick’s Cathedral as we did. We were in line and inside in minutes. Free to roam, public bathrooms, gifts and all the history and structure of the building itself. Worth a visit without a doubt.

Beautiful church with a lot of history. You do have to pay 8 euros for entrance. There are discounts for over 60. With the entrance fee you getaway audio guide. There is a lot to see see and you can spend several hours walking around this beautiful church. There is also a nice park adjacent to the Cathedral. It is well worth making a trip.

We visited as part of our walking trip around Dublin. The cathedral stays open fairly late vs others we tried to visit which closed by 4pm. The staff at the ticket counter and inside were very helpful. It's self guided but you can get an audio guide which takes you through various parts of the cathedral. The cathedral is impressive , the arches , the pulpit , stained glass were all very impressive

It will really depend on what time of day you visit this holy site as to how much you will appreciate it. Go first thing in the morning and you will get the place without all the tourists (mostly) and experience a lovely cathedral with an atmosphere to cherish. Later in the day, especially at the weekend, it's more like a market...... (so two/ three stars or five stars depending on when you go!)

A Majestic Evening at St. Patrick's Cathedral Our visit to St. Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin was nothing short of enchanting. The sheer beauty and grandeur of this historic church left us in awe. As a fan of impressive architecture, the cathedral's size and intricate details made it a truly captivating attraction. Attending the night service added a spiritual and melodic dimension to our visit. The choral performance was nothing short of heavenly, filling the vast space with beautiful harmonies that resonated with the cathedral's rich history. For anyone with an appreciation for churches, St. Patrick's Cathedral is a must-visit. The ambiance, combined with the stunning visual and auditory elements, creates an experience that transcends the ordinary. Whether you seek spiritual solace or simply admire awe-inspiring architecture, this cathedral stands as a testament to Dublin's cultural and historical legacy. An evening at St. Patrick's Cathedral is a journey into the heart and soul of Dublin's architectural and spiritual heritage. Highly recommended.

Very nice cathedral with a self guided audio tour included. The guided tour is worth listening too, otherwise you'd miss out on small intricate details in the design of the Cathedral and ofcourse its history. We reserved tickets online but they could've been bought at the door if not booked already. Limited number of people are allowed in each time slot.

A review of magnificent church, which serves as the symbol of the city, would be all but meaningless. The cathedral houses Dublin's history and is situated in a lovely, well-kept landscape. Every internal or external nook contains a piece of history and a thousand interesting facts. A tour inside is highly advised, and is best with a guide. The floor's flaws may be seen in the photo of the floor (a tile, on the other hand, indicates the voluntary imperfection of an otherwise perfect job done because only God is perfect). Highly recommended at least once

Cool, big, old church. Tallest church (not cathedral) in Ireland with a 141 foot high spire. Founded in 1191. Entrance fee was a little steep for a self-guided tour of 8€ for adults, 7€ for students. Worth stopping to pay respects to St Patrick (even if from the outside, to save on entrance fee). Beautiful grounds to sit and enjoy. Small playground for kids to burn off some energy.

The must-see cathedral when visiting Dublin. A tour costs 8 euros which is self-guided, so you can take as much or as little time as you would like. They also provide audio for all the exhibits. They offer a fair amount of merchandise if looking for a souvenir. Beautiful cathedral with a small park that is worth a stroll through as well.

Nice place to see the real Irish culture/History. A bit pricy ticket fee(1€ discount for students),but included an audio guide really helpful for better understanding the historical events. Nice gift shop with authentic gifts to buy from Dublin. Nice walking green park around the cathedral.

This is a beautiful old cathedral. It is massive on the inside and it dwarfs the worshippers within. There is a great deal of history within its walls, going back over 800 years. This pillar of the Dublin community is definitely worth the price of admission. There are lovely, friendly people working within the church, giving you all the information you need. This stop will take at least a few hours if you can walk around and look at all of the statues and plaques. If you are lucky on a day you are visiting they may be practicing the sermons or singing that they will be doing during the services later, its lovely. Such an awesome place which holds a special place in our hearts just like the rest of Dublin!

Spent a lovely and peaceful hour just wandering around St Patrick's Cathedral. The history of the cathedral is fascinating and it was very calming after spending time thinking about my Dad. The stained glass windows are magnificent and the ceiling is a marvel. Well worth a visit, there was construction work going on outside but all necessary and doesn't distract too much from the beauty of the setting.

Beautiful cathedral with adjoining park, full of history. Free tours with admission or just wander about by yourself (like I did) with the guidebook. Surprisingly full of history, not only because it is v old (700+ years) but because it has served as both a Civic and religious building. Entry (outside of services)does require admission but the money goes towards maintaining the building and I felt good about the spend. It was €8. Highly recommended!

Beautiful setting. Nice large rooms. We had A/C problems so we had to move to another room. Some strange things. No bedside electrical plugs. And the "security light" in the entry way cannot be turned off except by turning off the master. This also turns off the bathroom lights. Odd. But staff very nice and we enjoyed our stay.

The architecture is exquisite, beautiful building, inside and out. If your visiting Dublin it’s definitely a must see. It felt a little expensive but I guess that’s to be expected of any tourist attraction this popular. Part of the exterior is under construction so the front is fenced off, sort of steals from the experience a bit. Still worth going though.

Don't rush. Soak in the history. Take the guided tour. The guides have forgotten more about St. Patrick's, Dublin, and Ireland than most ever learn. Enjoy the stained glass artwork, hear about the changing historical affiliation of the building, and pay your respects to Jonathan Swift. This is a special place deserving of your time and attention.

Absolutely breathtaking architecture and design. There is so much rich history in this castle. The self guided tour gives you a huge deep look into all the items of the cathedral and the many things that happened there. We originally were going to spend 45 minutes here but decided to skip another pre-booked €75 tour somewhere else to spent close to two hours here and take everything in because it was that amazing.

Dublin and all of Ireland is an amazing and beautiful place. The people and the country are full of life and history. The Cathedral was breathtaking. We did not go inside because it was St. Patrick's Day and the parade was getting ready. The church was much bigger than I expected. It is amazing how they build such incredible structures in a time with lower technology than we have today. The use of windows to allow the natural light is genius. The grounds were massive and well kept. I added pictures and a video of the church bells ringing. Gives you an amazing feeling the sheer size of everything. Excited to go back at some point in my life. Ireland is a beautiful country.

St Patrick's Cathedral is a beautiful space. The floors are magnificent. with the tile work being very intricate and covering the entire cathedral floor. There are beautiful marble statues decorating many of the tombs. The stained glass windows are magnificent. It is interesting to hear of the story of how the Guinness family renovated the cathedral when it had fallen into disrepair. The crypt is pretty cool. There are some old texts that have been handwritten and are several 100 years old. There's a great little gift shop and restrooms downstairs. The stainglass windows are fantastic. This could be fun for kids to see. Although there's not much interaction for kids here. It is a beautiful space. Budget about 45 minutes to an hour. There is no parking here, but the hop on/off hop bus stops right in front of the cathedral. It is a short walk to Christchurch Cathedral, Dublinia, Dublin castle, and the Jameson distillery. The Jameson family renovated Christchurch Cathedral around the same time as the Guinness family was renovating St. Patrick's.

If you're in Dublin and want to check out St. Patrick's Cathedral, it's super easy to get there. You can walk from the city center or hop on a bus – there are a bunch of them around. If you prefer trains, Pearse Station is close by. Getting inside is a breeze. You buy your tickets right at the entrance. Prices might change, so it's smart to check the official website before you go. The cathedral is usually open during the week, but it's a good idea to double-check the hours. Once you're in, take your time to enjoy the calm vibes. There's a cool gift shop inside if you want to grab a little something to remember your visit. St. Patrick's Cathedral is not just a historic spot; it's a chill place to explore in the middle of Dublin.

Well the interior of the Cathedral is a fabulous feast of Gothic architecture. Inside are buried important historic figures, who's lives and deaths forged Ireland troubled history. The Cathedral is a tour unto itself. Jonathan Swift writer of Gullivers travels is buried here and when his body was exhumed after his death, his brain had liquefied and disappeared.

Located near city centre, but still in the center of things, surrounded by small and sweet park, Saint Patrick's Cathedral is one of the most beautiful Irish cathedrals. Atmosphere is wonderful and even better at Sundays when mass is going on. Wonderful place, ticket affordable, on Sundays free of charge. #dublin

Waterton Lakes NP is our favourite NP in Alberta. It’s small and quiet with just enough things to do. The lake is so nice on the hot days. Even after the 2017 fire it’s still very worth while. The views all around town are picture frame quality. It’s not overrun like Banff and Jasper it is just right. Make sure that you take in the bears hump and Bertha lake hikes as they are close to town and great for families. The Prince of wales hotel is iconic and the ice cream shop downtown is the best!! Surrounded by peaks during the day and stars overhead at night. Great dark skies photography. Always have a great time here!!

Beautiful cathedral! There is a fee to get in but there are works going on so I'm assuming its going to help so its no bother. Beautiful grounds to sit in and very peaceful! Our first day in Dublin and we headed straight here and just sat in the gardens for a while before going inside. It was Lovely!!

If there is mass, you cannot enter if you are a tourist. It seems that either they assume you don't want to attend the mass or you are going to disrespect the others. What it seems is that the church has no faith. As simple as that. And what it is, a disrespect having so much trash outside.

A friend of mine has brought me here for the Christmas Carol Service a number of years in a row. It's undoubtedly the best one in Ireland, if you appreciate Carols at King's at all!! Very Anglican indeed. Listening to the Rev Charles Mullen read is always a treat, too.

Not even sure how to go about rating such a beautiful and historically rich place, but I am just hoping to share in my gratitude and wonderment. If you have found yourself (somehow) questioning whether or not this is a worthwhile landmark or church to visit, I encourage you to stop reading and start planning your visit now!

Excellent place with an interesting history. The most interesting parts are probably the excellent floor tiles, stained glass windows, the choir with all the flags and coats of arms. Note that it's cheaper to book it on the website.

Also a nice stop, but it was not our Favorite. There is a huge type of garden / grass area where you can sit, or walking around. The hop on off bus also stops at St Patrick Cathedral. It is also not far from the other church (Christ Church Cathedral) and you can walk between them.

The Cathedral is magnificent, the structure of the building is really impressive ! The storytelling along the way with the several reading panel is quite nice. It does give a broad picture of the Cathedral's history. The staff was friendly but there is soooo many people. It's really crowded. Pretty nice overall, but I think it's pretty expensive for a visit (but the cost is probably mostly for maintenance of the Cathedral so I guess it's alright!)

  • 5/5 Milan B. 1 year ago on Google
Not much of a looker from the outside (appears heavy and too grey) but beautiful and charming from the inside! The entrance fee is 8€. The staff is polite, friendly, and very patient. There is a small souvenir shop inside and even toilets (I don't think I've ever seen that before!). A small park is nearby with a kids playground.

Loved it!!! I still have to visit again to see everything in detail since there's so much to see in this beautiful historical cathedral. The staff working there were absolutely lovely. The Priests who I came across were very friendly and polite. I was told I could stay back after the end of the visiting hours and attend/ listen to the mass, which I did, since I've always been very intrigued to experience it myself. It was a first for me, and it was a truly wonderful mass I'd say. Though it's not my religion, I have much respect for other religions, the practices, diversities and interestingly some similarities too, which all fascinate me. This cathedral is definitely a MUST visit and you'll surely not regret it. Best to come earlier in the day to avoid crowds and to have more time to explore the immense history within just one building. 10+ out of 10 🙂✅️🙌🏻

Honestly was one of my favorite places in Dublin. It comes with a audio tour that gives you so much information. You can go at your own pace and enjoy the beauty of an ancient cathedral. This would be on my top list of things to see while in Dublin.

  • 5/5 Gabriel M. 10 months ago on Google
Very nice cathedral, has a lot to see and you can be your own guide using the telephone-like device that's provided at the entrance. The audio content is very good and well crafted and has a lot of interesting information. The only downside is that it's paid, I don't feel paying to enter a church is right, but it is what it is...

  • 5/5 Ed D. 5 months ago on Google
Awesome place, great location with coffee and a park right around it's walls. Visited here and did the whole tour inside. The gift shop is well stocked with souvenirs. Great story everywhere about it's hay day in Dublin.

St Patrick’s cathedral is an absolutely beautiful spot to check out. Founded in the twelfth century. Beautiful architecture inside and out. Located right in the heart of the city within walking distance from Trinity College and the hotels in the area. Plenty to see inside. Toilets and gift shops located inside. €9.00 for adults to enter seemed a little steep. Tickets are sold at the door.
