Stoped here for a lunch and a Irish Coffee. The barkeeper that served me had a beard an was very friendly even if I had some questions about the menu. The food was good and sonst took long to arrive. I paid around 26€ for both

When my sons went back to the hotel, I hopped in this pub for a final pint. Final, before dinner:)) Anyway, I didn’t regret it, great atmosphere with great live music.

Of course this is one of the iconic places in Dublin. The food is tasty, people are nice, live music is great!

Really nice bartenders. Try the “special” - it is smithwick’s red ale with some Guinness on top! Definitely recommend. Minus one star for the tourists infesting this place. It’s almost completely overrun by old white American tourists.

My first Guinness in Ireland. Nice place. A lot of beers on tap. And Guinness is poured perfectly.

Very nice pub in Temple Bar, we were there on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. We enjoyed the beers, the live music and the atmosphere. It's a good place because people are friendly and even if it's in the center of the Temple Bar area is not expensive at all. I will never stop to say this: there's much more than The Temple Bar in Dublin. Discover all the beautiful and genuine pubs in town and avoid tourist traps!

Been many times over the years. In the heart of Temple Bar and just a brilliant vibe. Live music is amazing. Great for tourists looking for craic. Not cheap but but what bars are in Temple Bar!

Absolutely loved the place. There was live singing and the place was lively even at 1'o clock in the afternoon. Must try the full Irish breakfast here it's delicious with some Murphy's of course. For vegetarians their goat's cheese pie was marvelous.

A wonderful, lively pub. We enjoyed the live music, friendly staff and patrons, as well as the overall atmosphere. Will definitely visit again soon

A good time, very clean, very authentic Irish feel, be prepared to pay out, however it is very typical in the Temple Bar area. Worth a visit at least once if you're there for a short trip! We went on a Sunday around noon and it filled up within an hour but the service remained quick and friendly.

Amazing pub right in the centre of temple bar in Dublin. There was a huge range of pints and live music from the afternoon right until gone midnight, couldn't have asked for a more lively and fun atmosphere, would highly recommend a stop here! Knocked off a star because it got quite warm inside, a small price to pay for such a good atmosphere though.

Terrible wait, even when we arrived by 5PM, and the staff were completely uncommunicative about the expected wait time (even when asked). We gave up and left after literally two people got in during the 70+ minutes that we waited. If you aren't able to get in immediately, I'd recommend giving up right away rather than wasting the time waiting. When we left, we were the fourth group to give up in a row without anyone having been seated in between.

Decent drinks, a relaxed atmosphere and good tunes. Temple bar premium with drinks prices, as expected. Food looked really good although we didn't eat.

The highlight of the trip! Niall was a joy to meet and a very friendly fellow to have a chat with. Made me feel like a local coming from years. Entire staff is great - as is the food! Must try the stew with a Guinness 👍🏼 lots of fun with the music and gets wild at night. Check it out!

Always the most inviting atmosphere with an excellent beer range, lovely staff, fairly good prices and fantastic live music. All in the heart of the Temple Bar area. Feels homely and warm even though it’s right in a tourist hotspot. Highly recommend!

Myself and my friend visited this pub on Fri the 29th Dec (2 days ago), we had travelled from Birmingham and had been here before and really enjoyed it, after spending approx 2 hours in the pub, a security guard (not the original doorman that let us in, a different one) came into the pub and told us to leave without giving us any reason, myself and my friend were not drunk - we were sat down at a table talking between us, not harming anyone. We didn’t understand, so followed him out, to be told that ‘we are dressed inappropriately’ stating ‘what sort of attention are we after’ this came as an insult and a shock, I tried to take the doorman’s badge number, however he took it off, and started flashing his torch in our eyes. After informing him that even though it shouldn’t matter what we were wearing (a skirt and a top) that we do have boyfriends, and that we were simply having a drink in a pub like everyone else, to which he laughed and said ‘do you have a boyfriend? I doubt they would let you out the house like that’ at this point, we were in complete disbelief at how rude and offensive and downright mysoginistic he was being towards us, and we started to get upset, in which he began to mock us. My friend asked for a senior manager to report him too, and he said ‘there is no one above me, and no one will listen to you, look at you’. I would seriously avoid this place if you don’t want to be embarrassed and ridiculed! He ruined our night, and we went straight back to the hotel at 11:40pm. This whole interaction, including the aforementioned comments is also captured on video, which I am happy to provide to the venue if they wish to see it.

Typical Dublin pub. We went there as a pit stop because we were tired of walking. We got a table at the bar where we were greeted by a very nice bartender who recommended two local beers. While sipping our beer, there was live music that was very pleasant.

The Auld Dubliner pub is a true Dublin delight! Stepping inside feels like entering a cozy portal to Ireland's heart and soul. The traditional Irish ambiance, complete with rustic decor and live music, creates an atmosphere that's both welcoming and authentic. The staff at The Auld Dubliner are not just bartenders; they're storytellers and ambassadors of good times. Their friendly service adds an extra layer of warmth to the place. In the heart of Dublin, The Auld Dubliner is more than a pub; it's a destination for those seeking an authentic Irish pub experience. Cheers to The Auld Dubliner for capturing the spirit of Dublin in every pint and every song!

We went here on a Friday night. The bar was full when we got there around 7pm but not overly crowded. The musician was great and played some popular hits. It was raining pretty hard while we were out, which made the Temple Bar area quite empty. We found the bartenders and the other people there were very friendly. The group behind us spilled their drinks about 3 times and the last one just about got them kicked out. For more recommendations and tips from our Ireland trip... Follow @vanmblin

lovely pub, nice, traditional irish vibes. but quite loud, and incredibly expensive. especially if you're buying spirits. i would go a little farther out of town if you're planning a couple of rounds

  • 5/5 Earl H. 7 months ago on Google
I enjoyed my time here. The music, beer and food were great. The place was very laid back and not as loud like other establishments in the area which I liked. I had a great meal of Homemade Chicken Curry which was delicious but not too spicy. Also threw back some pints of Smithwick’s Ale which seems to go along with the meal nicely. I highly recommend this bar.

Nice pub with great live music. We only had drinks and the staff was fine and quick. Prices high but thats temple bar. What‘s annoying is the staff in the toilet. He holds the soap for you and gives u a paper towel (things I can do myself) and expects a tip - the toilet itself was really dirty though.

Great food and drinks for a fair price. There was a great live band playing at the first floor. Catelyn, our waitress was a sweetheart and the stew was on point. A good spot to run away from Temple Bar's hectic pace!

A high ranking pub for an experience. Not the most authentic pubs I have been to, but that is most probably because of the increasing number of tourists visiting. If you want peace and quiet, it might not be your place, but if that's what you really want, just drink at home.

We just went there as all other pubs were full on a Wednesday evening. The drinks were nice, the staff quite friendly, but somehow the complete atmosphere wasn't as expected. (Translated by Google) We came to this place, well recommended by several review sites, with the most optimistic expectations. He had very high scores. We entered the rooms on the ground floor where we were unable to pass because of many young people who, rightly, were having a little party on Saturday night. We went upstairs where there were several free tables to eat. The restaurant is in the center of Temple Bar and is welcoming and typical of these parts. We got the menu and decided to try, among the main courses (salmon) not a little vegetable, which was the most expensive dish on the menu (about twenty euros) and a Guinness. The salmon was very small (certainly good) but the vegetables that were to surround the plan were mostly peppers (80%) that floated in a kind of tomato sauce that somehow covered the flavor of the salmon. I also had far more pleasant memories of Guinness. To give a more reliable judgment, you should go back and take some meat dishes, but since I will only stay in this beautiful city for a week, I don't know if I will give it a second chance.

On wednesday the 26th of march, my boyfriend, friend and I went into the pub around half ten. As normal the place was buzzing and we made our way to the bar. However it was very busy so we were waiting our turn to be served. I gave my boyfriend a very gentle little kiss while we were waiting when i heard a bar man roar, "HEY!" He was so loud the other customers turned and faced us, he then shouted, "If you are gonna do *THAT* in here, you better buy a drink!" He then stormed off away and started chatting to other bar staff. When he eventually returned I asked him what his name was, "Porick" he shouted and began laughing very hard at him. Never have I experienced such a rude and borderline homophobic behaviour coming from a bar man in my life. Extremely upset by this incident and I hope it is investigate.
