My expectations were crushed. I heard a lot of good reviews about the restaurant but unfortunately they seem to care about the customers at all. Weirdly said, they specifically don't care about "Egyptians". First off, they didn't have any type Dumplings, Wonton Soup, or even Spring Rolls, basically no dough products?? Then why is the appetiser section even on the menu? As for the service, let me count. 1. MOST IMPORTANTLY. They were unbelievably RUDE!! They kept us waiting for so long for the order, even though we saw other people (sadly mainly foreigners.. it was so obvious) get their orders way faster!! But with us the waiter kept coming every now and then with one or 2 plates. It also seemed like he was throwing them at the table!!! We thought he was just in a hurry, but when we we're getting the check he didn't even look at us and threw it on the table, then when he came to collect it he just took it in a hurry..? 2. The place was full of disgusting flies we couldn't eat in peace. I believe they can do something about it. 3. When we finish eating and he took the check, we were chatting for a bit and one of is wanted a take out (so that's another hour to prepare a single dish.), they didn't bother to collect the plates....... For a whole hour.. until we left.. they simply don't care if we're sitting there uncomfortably or if we're inside the restaurant at all. 4. The side dishes looked like leftovers. Or had been put on several tables before us. The food wasn't bad. I liked the tteokbokki and the chicken with spicy sauce. But it's simply not worth it. I tried different Korean/Asian restaurant and they were just as good or even better.

Overall, the food was a little underwhelming. You hear so many things about this place being supposedly one of the best korean restaurants, but it's very average in my opinion. Honestly, I don't think I would go back again. The service was good and the staff were friendly and attentive. The prices are a little overpriced so be wary of that. The portions are not big to be honest and not enough to share with a group of more than 2 friends. I tried teokbokki, gimbap, beef bulgogi, beef fried rice, beef japchae, and yangnyeom chicken. Teokbokki: the sauce is way too sweet. it almost tasted like dessert because of how sweet and sugary it was, so it was not the best appetizer. the rice cakes were cooked well though. Gimbap: it was good and well made. tasted like a plain version of sushi. Beef Bulgogi: it's beef with vegetables in marinade and it tasted good but to be honest the marinade was not unique. it tasted like something you would make at home and wouldn't pay that price for it. it didn't really feel special or live up to the hype of it being delicious, but it is very good so I recommend. Beef fried rice: it was good, lightly seasoned, and tasted very smokey. it was not very filling at all to be honest but it is very good and I recommend it. it just wasn't amazing as well. Beef japchae: this was good but it just tasted like soy sauce noodles. it was underwhelming and i just felt like a child could make it because of how simple and unseasoned it was. Yangnyeom chicken: this was honestly the best and most delicious thing i ate at the restaurant. these flavors were very unique and so worth the price. 10/10 would order again and recommend for everyone. Overall this place was just not as delicious or amazing as people say it is in my opinion. There are other korean restaurants with cheaper prices that have more delicious tasting things.

I heard a lot about Gaya and decided to give it a try. It did not disappoint. The food is good! It really is Korean food at its best. I did some research before going and was accompanied by people who have serious appreciation to Asian cuisine. Here are some of my favorite items: 1. Beef Bulgogi: top! flavors are out of this world- just the perfect marination that you’d want to savor long after the plate is devoured. 2. Yangnyeom chicken: super good and different than the ones you have in commercial places 3. Kimbap: I thought it was something one finds in sushi places and was surprised to know it’s not the case. It’s super good and I definitely recommend it. Almost everything we ordered was good to be honest. Service was very slow, and they were not attentive to us as customers. It felt like foreigners were getting better/ faster treatment, but once the food came we were oh so happy! And the prices are average.

Waiter was really nice and helpful. Place is big and not too crowded. I ordered tteokbokki appetizer: It was a good size for one person to eat as somewhat big a meal but would be enough if another appetizer was added with it. It came out slightly cold and was a lot less spicier than I remember it being from when I came here first. Personally, I enjoy the spice of normal tteokbokki but if it’s for someone that dosnt like spicy food but still wants to try arthritic Korean food, it’s perfect. Overall, I would give it 6.5 ⭐️ (I’ve had better) Chicken fried noodles: This was amazing. The taste felt so delicate and super well marinated. You can tell it’s been sitting in good broth for a while due to its softness and taste (even though it dosnt come with broth). I personally didn’t like how short the noodles were because it made it hard to eat and not fully salvage the flavor but maybe that is how it is meant to be. 9.7 ⭐️ Kimbap: Presentation wise - it was beautiful and looks very yummy. And it is. However, I felt as though the seaweed wasn’t wrapped tightly enough on the vegetables inside, and it was slightly more dry than I anticipated, so I would have appreciated if they had some sort of sauce added to the rice or just on the side. I still highly recommend it though. It is a great side dish. 8.5 ⭐️ Fried dumplings: This was very well crisp and had a nice marinated filling. Not much to complain about, really. 8 ⭐️ Korean fried chicken: Too sweet. Off the bat. The chances of someone eating it all alone with no side (rice or noodles) is quite unforeseen. However, it is soft. Not as crispy as anticipated but still somewhat satisfying. 6.9 ⭐️ Their prices overall are quite great. I payed less than 550 EGP to have a meal with another 2 of my friends (it was a bit light however, we didn’t get full) I think anyone interested in Korean cuisine or culture should definitely try this place out!

Update: they now have a new system of 300 L.E. minimum charge per person which is inconvenient . A cosy place with friendly staff. I order Tteok bokki and yangnyeom chicken (with side steamed rice) and loved it. The portions are very good. Recommended place for a quiet delicious meal.

We had Fried Dumplings and Kimbap for appetizers. For the main course, we ordered Sweet and Sour Chicken, Bulgogi Beef and Stir Fried Noodles. The vibes were cozy and the place is suitable for families and big groups. The food was delicious and the portions are good enough to share. Will definitely come back to try their Hotpot!

I have been to Gaya three times and here is my last order: 1. Beef Bulgogi: Top! The marination, onion caramelization, spices, everything is perfect. 2. Seafood fried noodles: Bombing with flavors that are intriguing but very satisfying and at the same time very light so you could easily finish up a whole bowl on your own. 3. Yangnyeom chicken: A nice sweet-ish add on to an order full of spicy stuff. Different than the ones you have in commercial places where you can only taste Ketchup. 4. Mapa Tofu: That was the waiter's suggestion as we wanted to give Tofu a try in general. And man that was surprisingly phenomenal. Although full, I was devouring it only for the sake of the generous, rich and warm falvors you get from this dish. Ask the waiter for some fresh lettuce and make Mapa Tofu rolls with it and thank me after! 5. Teok Bokki: Watch out because those spicy rice cakes are super delicious and highly addictive. Soft and chewy rolls smothered in a sweet spicy broth making it instantly such a comfort food for you! The only downside was that service was a bit sluggish. You could feel as if they were not attentive to us as customers but let's be honest the place was cram-full so we might just cut them some slack. As you can tell, though, that did not prevent me from giving them a solid 5-star review because the place comfortably brings us an authentic high-quality yet affordable glimpse of the Korean cuisine.

Food was great - service not so much. Had to ask continually for drinks to be served…..and the rice that was ordered to accompany the mains to finally be served only after speaking with staff congregated in kitchen area. As I say. Food good. Service definitely not.

I love this place.. i love the food .. everything tasted amazing .. teokbokki, gimbab, japchae , fried chicken noodles , sweet spicy chicken .. all was perfect and delicious... Beef bulgogi was a little chewy but well marinated. The only issue is the service is a little slow and the place is stuffy(no open windows) and the smell of food and smoke of barbecue will make you cough.

This place offers authentic Asian dishes. They are all delicious and fairly portioned. It is a bit overpriced. However, I would recommend for an Asian experience.

We called for delivery and they took almost 2 hours to tell me, the order was not ready yet! Called 3 times, in the last two calls he told me we will prepare it now. Worst service and zero responsibility. The only answer he had was we are very busy today. It is not my problem if you are busy, you just had to tell me from my first call that you couldn’t take my order so I could choose and order from somewhere else. Big Zero !

My experience eating in Gaya restaurants is very disappointing tables were not clean the host denied us sitting in a table whom he said for five people and later only two people used it , food was acceptable apart from two items were very disappointing specially chicken , presentation clumpsy , one food item took one and half hour , a lady seemed owner greeted repeatedly most tables with foreigners mainly Asians and repeatedly passed by our table and a near by one with Egyptians sitting and never even smiled or greeted , mixing of bills happened , and while leaving the owner did not even look at me although I smiled at her , she did not smile back Which is very strange
