Jesus performed the miracle of multiplication of two fishes and five loaves to feed 5000 people, at this site near the sea of Galilee. Beautiful Byzantine mosaics have been well preserved and maintained. The place is serene and peaceful. There are display boards at strategic places explaining in brief the history of this place. A must visit site. Parking space is available at a little distance away from the church. There's a souvenir shop too.

It is a small church which takes only a few minutes to see, though with a rich history - this more modern church is built on the ruins of other churches going back to the 300s AD! The mosaics are from 480 AD! Definitely worth a quick visit if you are in the area on a Holy Land tour.

Nice little church with a beautiful courtyard inside. Parking is unreasonably expensive, but there is a lane outside where you can park your car along the road. Another problem with this place is that the local gift shop does not accept credit cards. Cash only. Otherwise, my wife and I enjoyed this small courtyard with a beautiful tree and a small pond with plump fish. A bit of interesting history, but in general it makes sense to come here either if you were specifically looking for it, or as one of the points of interest of a long excursion.

If you go in the evening, in February, when it isn't a high tourist season, you will be able to enjoy this holy place in quiet. In the church itself, the decoration is modest and the mosaics found during the excavations in 1932 stand out. These mosaics are unparalleled in the Holy Land. They depict lotuses that do not grow in the surroundings of Tabha. Under the altar itself is the main sanctuary of the temple, the stone on which Jesus Christ was placed to break the five loaves and the two fish.

To feed the crowd of five thousand people Jesus performed a miracle sharing the meager two fish and five loaves between all the people. The Biblical reference does not mention Tabgha by name but calls it a remote place on the shores of Galilee. The Church of the Multiplication is a modern structure built on the remains of the 4th-century church. The highlight of the church is the Byzantine floor mosaic which survived after the original church’s destruction in 685. Beneath the altar of the Church of the Multiplication is a large rock where it is thought that Jesus placed the fish and loaves as he blessed them. There is a glass panel in the floor through which you can see the foundations of the original church.

I recently visited The Church of the Multiplication and was blown away by the beauty and serenity of the place. The church is located in a stunning setting on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, and the architecture is simply breathtaking. As soon as I stepped inside, I was struck by the sense of peace and calm that permeated the space. The interior of the church is decorated with intricate mosaics and frescoes, and the atmosphere is one of quiet contemplation. Overall, I highly recommend a visit to the Church of the Multiplication. It is a place of true beauty and spiritual depth, and I believe that anyone who visits will leave feeling uplifted and inspired.

Another interesting place to visit is the Church of Tabgha or the church of multiplication of loaves and fish. At present, it still stood at the same place where another miracle happened. Very nice church, peaceful and quiet. Outside the church, you can still find the same tool that was used thousands of years ago in extracting oil from olives.

Here Jesus walked on the water. A church at the foot of the Sea of Galilee. A neat place, neat and clean. amazingly beautiful. Leaves a lot of resemblance to the history in which he began The story of the birth of Christianity.

The in 1982 build German Benedictine church of the multiplication of the five loaves and two fishes is small and has a nice ambiance! The original colorful breathtaking mosaic floor of the 5th century Byzantine church is repaired in shades of grey to notice the difference. From here you can walk via the main road to the other church ànd the hidden creek.

There’s an inner courtyard when you enter the church with a fish pond and a central single olive tree and it’s just very serene and peaceful there. The inside of the church is beautiful too, lots of mosaics and the windows are not stained glass, I’m not really sure what they are but they have a smokey look to them that’s gorgeous when the sun is coming through

Amazing place to sit and have lunch (nothing to buy.. get your food with you). The garden is like a piece of the heavens. The church itself has the best painting i have ever seen. You must visit as couples or family. You will love every single corner and painting.

I think this is one of the more beautiful churches that you can visit in Israel, much more simple then the rest. Gift shop only takes cash. Wasn’t too busy when we went, during Shabbat. Saturday afternoon.

The Church of the Multiplication is in the area of Tabgha on the western shore of the Sea of Galilee. The church marks the site where Jesus performed the miracle of the multiplication of loaves and fish. This was also the site where Jesus appeared for the fourth time after his resurrection.

Simple but very elegant church. It is new but in a medieval style. The rock of the multiplication is visible and focused, making it a fairly good place to pray and meditate on the miracle. The cafe and gift shop are also very good but you can't see the lake here unlike some other sites.
