My family had lunch here. The son of the family that owns this restaurant played us a traditional moroccan instrument and had us dress up in beaded garments and hats. We were a bit tired from walking around and all of the touristy shops, but this experience completely turned around our day making it really special. I had the shrimp tagine and it was probably the best dish I had my whole trip.

The food was delicious, appropriately portioned and full of flavours! The service was amazing! That young guy who also spoke English, was genuinely friendly, helpful and polite! The price was just a bit overpriced compared to other local options but well deserved due to the flavours, cleanliness and amazing service!

We came across this restaurant by chance, it situated in ancient building. The decor could have been taken care of a little. We had fun and enjoyed live gnaoua music played but talented artist. The service was fast and the waiter was helpful. However the food quality and portion is less than the standards for the price. Overall, I will go back. 4 stars for the gnaoua show

My wife and I had a wonderful lunch here today, delicious soup, chicken couscous, avocado shrimp dish, and brouates. Excellent food and friendly service… And if you ask politely you may be able to see some simply amazing photos of cats taken by Rachid who made our lunch extra special. He loves the cats of Essaouira ! Warmest thanks to the kind people at Les Remparts…

Disappointment!!! The place looked nice, but it was misleading. Food was nothing more than acceptable, and it was overpriced. Small portion for expensive price. Some men started making loud and annoying sounds thinking it was music, and that just annoyed me and gave me headache. We left quickly after we ate annoyed and hungry after wasting so much money.

Lovely food, enthusiastic waiter, good fun. Only slight negative was the overly loud music. OK for 5 minutes but not half a hour...

Food and service was good, music was too loud, but, they tried to short change me, bill came to 134 they tried to give me 6 MAD change from a 200 note, luckily I had the right money on me so I took the 200 back and gave them 140.

Watch out. To expensive. Food was overpriced. Not even fresh. I paid 1250 MAD (125 euros) !! Fried calamari came out of microwave. Food wasn't even good. Not fair.

Tucked in a quiet alley in Essaouira old city, this traditional restaurant offers an unforgettable dining experience. Cozy atmosphere and delicious, traditional food. The live music adds an authentic touch. The owner's was so generous as he even gave me a free lesson on playing his instrument. I spent hours here, enjoying the ambiance and having the best time. This hidden gem was shown to us by a local guide

Unfortunately, the fish tagine was extremely over cooked, even burnt. This is a very popular restaurant particularly with French people. I guess something went wrong this evening.
