This is a lovely hotel in the hip area of the city. There are many wine bars and restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. The room is quite spacious except the bathroom that was really compact. Our room had a beautiful view of the pool, trees and the big compound wall covered with foliage. Since it's an old convent the building structure looked very charming. You can see the beautiful roof with wodden beams and stone tiles in the rooms. The service was also very good.

Stayed here for three nights. Absolute hidden gem and very aesthetically pleasing property. Rooms were clean, with excellent facilities. Open buffet breakfast included in the price. HUDA and RAHA were amazing and made us feel like VIPs. Only downside I could think of is that the rooms aren’t well sound-proofed (due to the fact that it is a very historical building).

We stayed at Horto Convento for one night from our way from rural Tuscany to Austria. Florence is quite a stressful place compared to the Italian countryside. As such Horto Convento feels like a peaceful enclave within the city. The staff and the historic building radiate a welcoming calming atmosphere (just like one would expect in a former convent). One great thing is that you can actually park in the hotels yard. To get to the parking lot mind that you need to go through the medieval gates; they will fit most cars (2,3m is OK), but the smaller the better. There are some really good and not purely touristic restaurants and bars in the quarter.

We loved our stay here. The atmosphere was always calm and relaxed. Breakfast was a great range of options, and the staff were very attentive and make us feel welcome. Great cappuccinos! The room was a good size, and we enjoyed our windows opening up onto the courtyard. The walk to the centre was through lovely old streets, and felt like an adventure each time. Lots of good food options nearby, and well outside of the touristy bustle.

Hotel Horto Convento Firenze is an amazing respite within walking distance to the heart of Florence. It is an amazing gem! The neighborhood, the quiet, and particularly the calm provided was so much appreciated. The location is perfect; a brief walk to the center of Florence and all the sites at hand while at the same time that brief walk back to a peaceful oasis to rest and recharge. I spent many hours on the breakfast patio as well as front fountain area relishing the peaceful environment. Our room was clean, well appointed and comfortable. The staff’s attention, kindness, and flexibility were unsurpassed always accommodating with recommendations, directions and a friendly smile. A wonderful breakfast awaited us every morning which was a special treat. The cappuccinos were fantastic. I will return to this phenomenal location without hesitation and recommend it heartily to anyone visiting Florence. Bellissimo!

This is a modern, clean and comfortable hotel in an area of Florence that is cool and full of trendy cocktail bars and nice restaurants. The staff are really helpful and friendly and dealt with requests quickly and without any problems. Breakfast is included and is standard continental fayre set in a sun drenched courtyard. This is a really good four star hotel and is a great choice for any visitor who wants to avoid the crowds and chaos of the city centre.

This hotel is really beautiful. The property that it is located on is stunning. It seems like it was once an old villa that was turned into a hotel recently. First, it is luxurious, clean, and modern. Second, the breakfast is lovely - with indoor and outdoor options to sit. Third, the landscaping is perfect. Fourth, the customer service was great - the staff was always keep to help us whenever we asked for it. The only point I’d be cautious of is that the hotel is a little further out from central Florence. It was a 15-20 minute walk, which was perfect for me, but I know that might not be suitable for everyone.

We drove into the city and had an amazing experience staying in this hotel. It is located just far enough that driving wasn’t an issue and walking was easy. We did take a few taxis but none were more than 12 Euros. The staff was always very helpful during our stay by providing us recommendations of places in Florence. Breakfast was a good selection! The rooms were very nice and clean.

We had a great experience at Horto Convento. The property is beautiful. The view of walking through the gates into the hotel never got old. Location is easy to get to from the train and the whole city is very walkable. If you plan on spending a lot of time on the other side of the river, plan on longer walks or a can. It’s an easy walk, it just takes a bit and you’ll want to plan. For meals, this is a great location with a lot of awesome restaurants within a 10 min walk.

Very nice, comfortable hotel. In a good place, you can drive here with the car (outside of ZTL). Very quiet peaceful hotel. Historical old building, but modern furnishing. Breakfast was also ok, bar in the night the best one. Reception could help with all, very polite. Thanks a lot!

It’s an ok hotel. Bland rooms. Very basic hotel. But they have a parking 🅿️ which is a big advantage. But don’t come here for a great hotel experience. From the room you can hear every whisper out in the hallway.

This a beautiful hotel and the grounds are wonderful. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was outstanding and so attentive to everything we needed. In particular, Olga can mix a great cocktail and took care of our large group with ease. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

An old monastery, now a cosy hotel. The hotel is located right near the old wall which was delimited the historic center of Florence, so within the center of Florence, but outside of ZTL area, so if you are coming by car this hotel is a good option. Everything us refurbished and looks new, materials are of high quality and is very clean. The rooms are not huge, but big enough to be comfortable. You need 15 minutes walking to Ponte Vecchio.

A beautiful hotel in a great location. Oltrarno is the other side of the river, so a more authentic Florence experience but within easy walking of the tourist attractions. The staff were super friendly and the hotel had a very calm and relaxing vibe. Lots of choice at breakfast too. WE had a wonderful stay. Thank you.

very clean and tidy, good breakfast selection (with lots of cheese, olive oil, ham and some hot food). Staffs are super nice and helpful, it’s a very pretty hotel too. The only downsides are it’s a bit far from most attractions though bearable distance (10 mins walk fo the popular zone), and we had 3-4 mosquitos in the room since staying.

Recently remodeled. Outside is historic; inside is modern. Rooms are clean and spacious. Breakfast is complementary and has a great selection, and they can serve you coffee to your liking.

We had a wonderful stay! The location provides easy access to everything we wanted to do but was also a quiet oasis. The staff is lovely!

Great location, only 15min walk to Ponte Vecchio. Beautiful rooms, lovely garden and great service. Dog friendly! We stayed for 1 night in 7/2022

Nothing incredibly special, feels very sterile but the location is excellent. The breakfast is what you expect (not incredible, not terrible). The only issue I have with this establishment is the fact that at no time a staff member helped with luggage (not even opening the entrance door)!

Hotel Horto Convento is an amazing hotel. If you are looking for a great place to stay in Florence, I would find it hard to believe there is a better option. The hotel is conveniently located in a great area with good restaurants nearby and easy walking distance (15 mins) to the Ufizzi Gallery. The shared spaces in the hotel were beautiful, including the garden area which is perfect for sitting an enjoying a drink after a day of sightseeing. The breakfast area is lovely and the breakfast itself was great. Our room was very comfortable and well equipped. The staff set this place apart from others on our trip. Each and everyone of them was friendly and helpful. It was like speaking with friends by the time we left. Note: if you are packing here you have to drive through a VERY narrow gate. Our peugeot 208 made it, but larger cars/suvs may have issues. Make sure to measure. Also, the hotel is outside the ZTL.

Beautiful & clean room. We left before the start of breakfast — our to-go breakfast boxes were already ready by the time we came downstairs and our taxi was waiting for us. Grazie for the great service Horto Convento staff :)

Historic hotel with nicely updated rooms. Grounds are very welcoming and well taken care of. Parking on site is available but can be difficult to get in and out of depending on the vehicle. Had to tip in 1 mirror to clear the entrance.

Hotel Horto is a small romantic hotel just outside of main tourist areas. It is an easy 15 minute walk to most locations. Rooms were clean, views were enjoyable, breakfast was well done. Staff very friendly. Only issue is noise from hallway. You can hear that their guests easily.

Gorgeous hotel in a great location. It was so serene and a lovely place to relax but walking distance to everything. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. We arrived in the middle of a heatwave and the only thing that would have made it better was if there was a pool (maybe the pond out front!). Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful hotel in a quiet area of Florence, but close to all major areas of the city. We only took a cab to and from the hotel when we had our luggage. We walked every where else. The room was very nice. Lovely bath products are provided. Staff are charming and very helpful. Lovely bar and breakfast area. Delicious breakfast food. A wonderful way to start the day.

This hotel, is absolutely beautiful! It's only open a few years but has so much character! Beautifully decorated and is so relaxing! A 15 minute walk takes you straight into the hustle & bustle of Firenze! A fantastic queen size bed, in a good size room! Also a brilliant breakfast, either hot or cold which ever you prefer. The staff are so friendly & will help you plan your day of sightseeing or advise you where all the best eating houses are! They did not let us down!! Fully recommend Horto Convento, as a group of 4 we had the very best time!!

Great stay for one night. The breakfast was good. Would've preferred bacon to wieners though. The room was really nice. Garden view was beautiful. Nice staff.

My mom and I were greeted with some really lovely staff and front desk team. It is about a 20 minute walk from the train station. I overall enjoyed my stay here, the breakfast was delicious and I really recommend it. It isn’t really the city centre of Florence so everything will take you some extra time to get too. My only heads up for anyone is if you are getting the small guest room the washrooms are tiny mainly if you are a bigger person. I found it hard to move around it and shower, but it was manageable otherwise.
