There is not enough stars to express how amazing my experience was with this boutique hotel. As I’ve been visiting Sri Lanka a lot and have passed by Fort Printers many times, I’ve always wondered how it is to stay here. So I booked one night and knew I will be a regular customer from that moment on. Mixed architectural styles, very minimalistic and modern, this hotel has so much charm. More than that, it’s the friendly and kind staff who took care of us in the professional and genuine manner. Food is excellent as well, would recommend Mahi Mahi Tacos and Prawn Curry. Let the photos speak for themselves. Highly recommended and already missing it!

This is a must visit, must see when in Sri Lanka. The food is amazingly tasty and well seasoned. The home made lamb burger by far one of the best burgers I have ever tasted. The staff are very friendly and professional, they will give you a guided tour of this very old building with a modern twist. As for value for money very good indeed. You won’t be disappointed. My family and I will most definitely visit again.

We have been going here for years and it’s a five star review until the last time I went here two weeks back. They have changed the menu with USD pricing which has made it ridiculous. Had two bottles of Lion beer only. It was 4.5 USD EACH so the total came to 3200 including service charged. This is basically telling locals to get lost. We understand everything has gone up but in no way is it correct to bring an alternative currency instead of the local currency. We are happy to pay higher prices but certainly not Rs 1,500 for a local Lion beer! Will not visit unless they change back to LKR. DISAPPOINTED. Hope you get all the white people which clearly who you ONLY cater to.

This is the best bar I’ve ever been to. Classy interior that you just admire, wonderful friendly staff, great old music which contributes to the atmosphere. The list of cocktails contains all the classics. Tasty starters. Perfect place to visit on a date or with friends. Or even alone: they have a few rooms and tables and chairs are positioned in a way you can find a comfy place to sit and chill alone just looking around enjoying the atmosphere. Would love to come back once I’m in Galle again.

The place is a re-purposed Dutch era building that was earlier a printers office, but now is a hotel with an amazing restaurant. Went there twice in 3 days - once for breakfast and once for dinner. Both their menu was exquisite and had me confused on what to go for. Tried and absolutely loved their Mahi Mahi tacos, Lamb Tagine, Tuna fillet, Roasted Cauliflower & Avacado and Eggs on Toast. Their smoothies and cocktails are very tastefully done as well. Every staff member is awesome and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Absolute must visit

Very strange guys, in the morning they do not feed guests with breakfast, in the evening with 7 empty tables they said that everything is reserved. This is the first time I come across such an approach. I will not go here again, there are a lot of delicious establishments in the high price segment nearby.

We first visited Fort Printers hotel in 2009 and found it to have unique charm and character then. On our return last week, not only had its special charm and character been maintained, but also improved by the addition of a discrete extension, offering a more contemporary alternative to the original historic rooms. This hotel, centrally located within the original fort ramparts of the historic town of Galle will always occupy a special place in our travel memories.

We booked the 65 peddler suite. Note that this room is not in their main building. So if you were booking for the charm of their classy building, then think twice now. Next, we were taken to our apartment which was in the backside of a house on the first floor. No hand towels, kettle, water or cups were given. We had to call to get them. That's their service and attention to detail for you. The wifi did not work for the 2 nights we stayed. The breakfast was average! They have tried to give a heritage feel to the hotel and room but that shouldn't come as unpainted / moisture ridden walls. Basically there is nothing good other than the location but in this location you will find much better hotels for the same price.

We had an absolutely amazing stay at Fort Printers. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful. The room was huge, the facilities were great. Shower was hot and had great pressure. The food in the restaurant was delicious. I had a prawn curry which was full of flavour and spice, they give good portions, it was so tasty that I finished my meal with no leftovers. Great stay and great location! Would definitely stay there again!

Excellent hotel and food .. the service was excellent and we loved the room. The breakfast was also amazing. I would also recommend asking for the Sri Lankan breakfast. Definitely recommend this hotel for your stay in Galle ..

We loved the Hotel it was super sophisticated to match the beauty of Galle. The staff were fantastic and were very attentive. One of the first rooms we went in smelled of damp and they quickly without hesitation moved us. The food in the restaurant was delicious, the best taco’s I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommend

One of my favourite restaurants at the Galle Fort. Service, location and ambiance are excellent. Loved the choice of food and beverage options, which were all exotic fusion cuisine. My go-to recommendations are the mango lassi with pistachiois, the beetroot carpaccio with walnuts, the deep-fried Mahi Mahi tacos, the lamb kefta tacos and the lobster curry with rice. Portions are substantial. Prices are in USD. Payment is in LKR. Definitely worth the price if you want to indulge.

Amazing hotel. Dreaming about it since last trip to Galle and finally booked a room. Design, atmosphere are amazing and perfect breakfast made all this as one of the best experience in Sri Lanka. Quite expensive, but it’s worth it 🙌🏼

We popped in for a cuppa and a bite to eat during our recent visit in Galle.. Very warm welcome by staff and the courtyard by the pool was a relaxing place to enjoy or time there.. If you're in the area, certainly recommend considering using it for an afternoon meal.. Very polite and very professional staff in terms of service...

My sister and I dropped in at their restaurant for dinner. Omg please don't visit the restaurant. The food is awful. We had a pork starter, just 4 pork pieces. Utterly old meat and jeezzz that sauce just made me puke. The the main was a fish well done and a salad. Gosh the fish was awful. Old. Bland. And the sauce again is outright disgusting. The salad had 4 small avocado pieces and some green leaves. So these two dishes and two drinks and a water bottle was 14,000 something. Seriously not worth it. The service person was very friendly and nice but it was so not enough. On a side note the fungi on the walls around the pool area made the experience worse.

A masterclass in interior design. The hotel is elegant,cozy,intimate, the food was delicious and the bar serves international cocktails properly prepared. A wonderful experience in Fort Galle. Kudos to Peter for being such a wonderful host and for all the information he offered while we were in the hotel. The staff made us feel appreciated and welcome, the hotel is a lovely visual experience and again, the design is just wow. I would recommend this location for dinner, lunch, a long or short stay. 5star hotel indeed!

We loved our stay at this beautiful hotel, right in the centre of historic Galle Fort. We were very well looked after by the excellent team, food was wonderful (we had both breakfast and dinner there), and we really hope to visit again. Really a highlight of our trip to Sri Lanka.

Lovely stay at Fort Printers. Ab old school converted to a printing press and eventually to a hotel. The rooms are great and the staff is helpful and ever smiling. The best part of Fort Printers is it's focus on sustainability and minimal use of single use plastic. It's right at the heart of Fort Galle, a great place to stay.

Amazing food, one of the best I ever did. Really different taste in the same menu and the dessert was perfect too.

Amazing experience here in respect of both the hotel and restaurant (despite some disruptive diners who were playing an iPad loudly and without headphones in the middle of the restaurant!). The staff went above and beyond for us, the rooms and design of the hotel is beautiful and the food was some of the best we had in Sri Lanka. Cannot recommend enough!

The Fort Printers located within the UNESCO World Heritage Galle Fort is truly a unique experience. We stayed one night here in the headmaster suite which was unique in formation (the room was in 03 levels) and so very spacious. It’s a beautifully renovated colonial mansion which has a centuries old history. Right now, it is a wonderful mix of the old world charm and the elegance minimalism of modern interiors. This is one of the few hotels within the Galle Fort which has a beautiful swimming pool. Also, this place has some of the best food I’ve had on the whole island! The dishes are well thought out and beautifully executed and we ended up polishing the plates! Particularly loved the lamb tangine, roasted cauliflower, the pork belly and the pavlova which were absolutely gorgeous! Peter is an amazing host and absolutely spoiled it’s! This place is truly a masterpiece of elegance and class in every since!

Stopped here for lunch today. Six of us - so they gave us the big marble table in the library, Fish tacos were about the best I’ve had, gazpacho and roasted cauliflower just right for a hot afternoon and the pavlova with real passion fruit made for a perfect ending,

Beautiful experience: very warm welcome and check in, property is fantastic, our room was great and spacious (with lovely smelling shower gel!), all staff members we met - were amazing and ready to go an extra mile (I.e we had a very early check out and they were kind enough to offer us breakfast to go, which was very thoughtful). Had lunch and dinner at the hotel and food was delicious!

We loved the stylish decor of the hotel, which gave it a sophisticated and modern feel. The hotel bar served excellent cocktails and the staff were knowledgeable about the local area and made great recommendations for restaurants and bars.

If Google had 6 stars 🌟 for exceptional service, food and accommodation then this would be a rare time that I would rate them this for everything. We were expecting a nice stay in a good hotel and our expectations were exceeded on everything. A superb room ( Prefect ) and excellent food and service, as great cocktails. Highly recommended and our thanks to the staff for a great day. Such a shame we oy stayed 1 night!

I give this location no stars. The worst experience I’ve had in any hospitality service recently. We made a reservation for 7 people and went there for dinner today. We were told that the table next to us of 2 people complained that we were loud. On a scale of 1-10, since we were a bigger group the noise must be 4-5. We walked out unhappy and the staff didn’t as much apologize or stop us from leaving. It’s a public restaurant, not a library and if noise is an issue I advise this restaurant to keep ‘Be Quiet’ signs all around their premise. The 2 ladies who complained were foreigners and because we look like locals (we are Americans too) I guess the discrimination.

Went their for dinner it was an excellent experience. Beautifully decorated interior and bar. The Manager Peter is lovely and welcomed us with warm hospitality. One of my favorite places in the Galle Fort to dine.

Great bar and restaurant. Amazing service. Only had a few glasses of wine but it was great to have this opportunity to relax in such a nice place. Recommend to book or come earlier for the best tables!

Had dinner with my girlfriend a couple of friends of mine on the recommendation of a chef friend. Had an absolutely amazing lamb burger and a delicious piece of cheese cake. The location is gorgeous and the staff are fantastic. The manager , Lahiru, was great and gave us a tour of the beautiful place. Definitely check it out.

A definete stop for our family whenever we are in Galle. The food is simply fabulous. Very friendly attentive staff. lovely ambiance. Love to see the old prints dating back to late 1800. Missed chef Ravi today but the food was still fabulous.

Is a peaceful calm place for accommodation, staffs were all friendly. Rooms are pretty big and basic, minimalist as well, don't expect it to have your usual toiletries. I believe they are trying to be sustainable and environment friendly. Breakfast is not too bad either, strategically located at the Fort. Easy access for sun rise viewing and sunset.

Gorgeous dining room split in 2 sections. We were in the darker bit of the room but with a little help from a nearby floor lamp and we were happy. The food was absolutely delicious as well. Our waiter was very attentive and efficient. We didn't have to wait long for the food. All was timed very well which made the evening seamless for a group of 7 people. We loved it.

Stayed here in January 2022 and November 2022. Lovely hotel, staff and food. Highly recommended if you want to stay right in the fort city itself. Will stay there again.

We didn’t stay here, but visited their lovely patio restaurant (next to the swimming pool) for a romantic dinner, which was an unforgettable experience. The ambiance alone already could not be beaten, while the food - Moroccan couscous & chemoula grilled prawns - turned out to be one of the best meals we had during our two weeks holiday on Sri Lanka. Service was super friendly and attentive. Prices very reasonable. Definitely would come here again ona next trip. Highly recommendable!

We ate here for Christmas lunch. The food was amazing, staff very attentive and a relaxed atmosphere. We’ll be back!

An amazing ambiance and a breathtakingly simple yet elegant café /restaurant. They absolutely know what they're doing with coffee and their service was nothing short of perfect. A very chill place to relax and get some work done or just enjoy the ambiance.

5 stars, even if they ran out of lobsters and could not taste the very famous and apparently amazing lobster tacos :) Visited the Fort printers for lunch and was really a great experience, we had curry chicken burger and avocado toast. Delicious! The hotel is beautiful as well!

I have been visiting this restaurant on and off for nearly 6 years, pretty much each time we come to Sri-Lanka, Galle area we visit the Fort Printers for lunch or diner. I would really recommend this place. The food is excellent, the set up is very chic and the staff will welcome you so well. We have brought our children here too many times and the staff we extremely accommodating. The cocktails are superb.. I LOVE THIS PLACE..

Great place to stay. Friendly staff. They will go out of their way to make sure your stay is comfortable. Amazing rooms. I would recommend this place if you want to stay in a nice hotel inside the Galle Fort. Quiet place to relax. Walking distance to restaurants and sightseeing places.

"Excellent boutique hotel in a great location" This is an excellent, stylish boutique hotel located right in the heart of the fort. Great shopping all around, very friendly and helpful hotel staff, quality and charming restaurant for dinner as well as a high end a la carte breakfast that was included. The property is very well decorated and the staff went out of their way to make the stay enjoyable. They even organized us a PCR test to come to the lobby and take care of it for us prior to our flight so we didn't have to go to the hospital.

A home away from home. Stunning location with international fine dining standards. A well thought out menu with nothing spared on ingredients quality. We really enjoyed the space and interior design, it felt classy and inviting yet nuanced and minimal. We came here more than once to enjoy the space and service again.
