I used to really love and enjoy Windsurf Bay, I’ve gone to it for over 20 years but I am deeply disappointed in the fence that’s been added to the edge of the shore. The fence only has three openings to it which I also feel like is a safety hazard when large numbers of people gather near the water. I hope this fence is removed so that the community can enjoy the park and the water.

I posted a review a few days ago about the addition of the fence to the edge of the water. I went back today hoping there were still openings in the fence but saw there are “no swimming”, “no loud music” signs. HOWEVER, people with access to boats parked their boats directly on the shore, swam, and played loud music. It’s unfortunate that access to the water is only for those that can afford to break the rules.

I live near by this beautiful lake and it’s sad to see it fenced up by the negligence of the city’s. very easy right? Just install a fence and forget about the WE the people! Take down the freaking fence build something much better , a place to swim and cool off, the surfer’s are gone too! (with our tax money) A much better area to entertain on behalf of our community. All the cities involved on doing this are very irresponsible and you all will be voted out when the day comes.

This was such a wonderful activity for me and my two small children for the past 4 years... Sadly, we found out today there is a huge tall fence blocking all access to the water throughout windsurf property. This was the one thing we looked forward to doing and enjoy as a family. Hope the community access to the swimming area will be an option in the future. If anyone knows of an alternative place to access swimming at lake Ray Hubbard, let me know!!!

Nice park with great swimming area brought my dog and he swam in the lake too! Also a little playground by the lake. There was some glass and trash to be wary of but nothing too terrible. enjoyed the trip!

Nice spacious area, easy to find a spot to setup your picnic. This park does include: - Kids playground - Bbq grills - plenty of space and trees for lounging - Lots of parking ( gravel and grass ) This park doesn't have : - Boat ramp - Restrooms or porta potty - Street lights, so it gets pretty dark Be aware to drive slow after it rains, the road isn't paved, so the rain can create uneven terrain and a bumpy ride, however you will still be a able to drive on it with any car as long as you take caution. This is the only improvement I would highly suggest for the development of this park

Tried to go to this park, but it is sealed by a large fence with a locked gate, never seen a public park sealed off like that. Would not recommend planning to spend your day here. Go to an actual public park if such a thing still exists...

Beautiful place but not no clean. Any way if you want to escape city life for a while. Good place. Ample free parking, a tiny kids park and a walk way a little far from the lake. You can listen the sound of wave that my give you a pleasant experience.

This place is great and close to home but just found out that the city of Garland will be closing it next week. Very sad news today, June 24th, 2020. Parks and rec guy said people didn't keep it clean when they visited.

An alright place to swim. Im really upset with todays experience however. I came around 11am and there are 6 dogs unleashed. I put my things down and get in the water, 2 untrained, unleashed bull terriers start rummaging through my things. I really hate the fact so many people unleash their invasive dogs around here. It makes for an uncomfortable experience.

Other than no restrooms and the grass near the baseball diamond being grown over. Overall a great little place to spend the afternoon

Giving this 3 stars out of 5. This is a very nice park, when it's opened. As someone commented previously this park is closed at 12pm on Friday and doesn't re-open until 6am on Monday. It's a shame this place isn't opened on the weekend. I went once on a Thursday morning to take my dog swimming. The park is very clean, plenty of beach space and nice spots to swim and cool down from this hot Texas heat. I really hope the city of Garland changes their minds and opens this on the weekends. I wouldn't mind paying to get into this park, similar to places like Lynn Creek Park on Joe Pool Lake.

It would be really nice if the people itself clean up after themselves even if there's trashcan visible lots of people just trash the lovely place.

I'm giving this 3 stars. It used to be a great place to go for a swim in the lake, make a picnic, etc...... such a shame that Garland residents don't ha e access to a free beach spot on the lake.

I didn't experience the park so much as the lake. It seems like a great fishing spot! We unfortunately didn't get to stay long, but there were other people there fishing and they all seemed to be giving us and each other some good space. Hopefully next time we'll stay long enough to catch something!

My 15 year old son and I came out here to fish. He caught something. I sat in the shade. We had fun. It's free and really large. Lots of shade trees. But no fishing in the shade.

I live in the neighborhood and looks like they’re closing it down. Which is sad bc it was easy access for our family, however I’m glad bc there was lots of noise and litter due to the inconsiderate people who would be there. This people also caused a lot of noise pollution and speed down the single road to get to it. Glad they’re gone but the neighborhood lost a park bc of it. Shameful.

Great place to swim and hang out for free. Needs to be picked up more often. a little too much trash. Its very ridiculous that it has to be closed while nearby water parks and public pools have been open.

The city of Garland, city council, gaggle of commie maggots, call it what you want. What they're trying, and so far succeeding at doing is shameful, it borders on illegal whether they "passed a resolution" or not, AND THE RESIDENTS OF THE CITY OF GARLAND, TX SHOULD BE ASHAMED FOR ALLOWING THIS TO HAPPEN! Those control freaks who sit on the city council will do whatever you allow them to do. They cannot do what you tell them NOT to do. SOMEBODY, ANYBODY, GET OFF YOUR A** AND FIGHT FOR WHAT IS YOURS, NOT THEIRS! Geez.... I'm pretty sure I've said it before, but I'll say it again: This is a grab! Somebody with enough money to influence the city council members and the mayor is shutting down Windsurf Bay Park... FOR GOOD. Think I'm dreaming this up? Just take a ganders over to the mess they've commandeered at I-30 and Dalrock Rd. There was a time when that space over there was good for a Saturday splash with the dog... until some corporate goons decided they could make a buck if they bought off the city council. Is EVERYBODY in Dallas County asleep?? One day, you or your children will ask, "why do THOSE people get to decide who can walk up to the lake? Why can't we just go play in the lake if we want to?" If you're honest, you'll tell them the truth. Which is WE WERE TOO BUSY TO PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT AGENDA 21 (essentially) WAS STEALING FROM ALL OF US. WAKE UP WAKE UP WAKE UP WAKE UP WAKE UP WAKE UP!

My kids are easy to please and like swimming and wading in the free water at this spot. They enjoy the waves from boats and jet skis while playing in the beach. Excellent location for a family cookout! A well-covered gazebo, a lot of mature trees, and a partially shaded park are all present.

My kids are easy to please and love this location to wade and swim 🏊‍♂️ in the water for FREE. They play with the sand and enjoy the waves from boats 🚣🏼‍♂️ and jet skis. Great place for a family cookout! They have a lot of mature trees 🌳 for good shade, a well covered gazebo and a park that’s partially shaded.

It deserves the five stars I’m there every day with the 29.99 $ plan Super clean with the latest equipment they have air hose beside the vacuum. Unlimited Free towels . My car is super clean with shiny tires and sparkling glass. You don’t even have to wipe your car after each wash . There was a machine to wash the floor mates but it is not there anymore. I am missing it badly. I hope they can bring it back. Friendly professional people working there .
