Love to see the murals at Penang art street, also around George town. Will visit there again to find all of them. Recommend to visit there in the early morning or evening. One sad thing is I can find only faded shape of 'skippy' cat though I did wish to see colorful cute Skippy 🐈 Hope artists may draw and color the Skippy cat again. From there you can directly go to Clan Jetties (I prefer Chew and Lee Jetties).

During my photography tour in Georgetown, Penang, I had the pleasure of visiting the famous Penang Street Art area. As a photography lover, I was immediately drawn to the stunning murals and colorful artwork that lined the streets and alleyways. What I loved most about the Penang Street Art area was the variety of artwork. From playful cartoons to political statements, there was something for everyone to enjoy. The intricate details and bold colors of the murals made for fantastic photo opportunities, and I found myself snapping pictures around every corner. One of the things that really stood out to me was the way the street art interacted with the environment. Some of the murals seemed to be jumping off the walls, while others incorporated real-life objects like bicycles and chairs. It was truly a unique and creative experience. As I explored the area, I also noticed that the street art was an important part of the community. Locals and tourists alike were taking photos and admiring the artwork, and it was clear that the murals had become an integral part of the neighborhood's identity. Overall, my visit to the Penang Street Art area was a highlight of my photography tour in Georgetown, Penang. The art was inspiring and beautiful, and it was a joy to capture it through my camera lens. I would highly recommend this area to any photographer or art enthusiast visiting the city.

Great way to spend a day in historic Georgetown. Get hold of the Street Art Map (available in almost all hotels in Penang) and hit the streets. Some of this murals are really hard to find, so its almost like a treasure hunting expedition. Don't forget to savour the interesting street hawkers and cafe that are sprinkled all over this historic place. Have fun!

Not really a secret spot, but worth to visit. Some of the murals lost their color due time but not loosing their charme. This is how street art is - temporary....Take your time to enjoy it

Beautiful street art! It's very therapeutic searching & walking down the alley. Many tourists.. there might be a short waiting time (take turns to take picture). Do note that some of the street art are on the road side where cars will make turns in. Be careful when taking pictures!

Fantastic photo opportunities around Georgetown and great finds. You occasionally walk into them (unless you use one of those street art “treasure maps” that listed all their locations.) but the most famous is the one with a kid on the bicycle that one is a must go.

I love history, and exploring Armenian heritage was a treat. But the street arts added a fun angle of treasure hunt. The interactive paintings were scattered and hidden in narrow alleys that made the exploration a fun entertainment. However, I was a tad disappointed with the maintenance. Most of the arts are washed away in rain. The popular ones seemed worn out. The heat and humidity was not comfortable during June. The best window period in this season was morning and evening. But the surrounding street food offers refreshing juices and ice creams to recharge a tired explorer. Overall this place offered what we came for. Lovely and lively experience.

At that time, when I visited there, it had rain. So, it was somewhat difficult to find out the famous wall arts. Thanks to god, 1 hour later, the rain stopped. I could find some wall arts. Many tourists were strolling along, taking pictures, and enjoying the old street. There are survinor shops and restaurants for the visitors. However, I couldn't see any public washrooms. Please search it in advance for your family. Enjoy.

Popular tourist destinations in Penang are the street art murals and architectural beauty of the city. You can enjoy various kinds of murals by walking leisurely. There are lots of photo spots but you have to take turns if there are lots of people who want to take pictures. There are various kinds of snacks also in the vicinity. You can also buy various kinds of souvenirs typical of Penang. If you are tired of walking, you can take a trishaw. My advice is to go for a walk in the morning or evening, because it's very hot during the day😁 Don't forget to have sunscreen, a hat or an umbrella. Penang hot is real😂

This is a nice neighbourhood of old Penang that is worth a walk through. As the name suggests, there is lots of street art that make for happy holiday snaps. There are lots of tourist shops as well as some nice cafes and food outlets. You can also take a bike ride with someone doing the peddling - they can carry two people in the touristy local push bike cart. In sections this is a gritty part of Penang but still worth a walk or ride through. I preferred to walk as I could take in the experience and sites. Try and do in in the morning or later in the afternoon, since at midday the sun is hot and combined with the humidity takes the edge of the otherwise nice experience. Enjoy.

Actually the street is not a long road so you can either walk or ride a bike there are rental bike called "Link Bike". First, you need to download Link Bike application in your phone than choose your package. For a day you can rent a bike for RM3 only. So cheap. Btw the street have not much restaurant or cafe especially for halal and muslim. But there's an ice-cream shop which are halal.

Penang will always be my food haven. Street art as usual is amusing and full of people. It was a hot day during my visit so I don’t go around that much. Oh ya guys, think wisely before you DECIDE to have a henna tattoo because the lady just scammed me with huge price for a typical henna drawings on my hand. I mean it’s wayyyy more expensive than the RM5 she advertised on her banner. It did said there it costs for a minimum rm5 but I wouldn’t recommend you to do it. Other than that, do feel free to walk around and take pictures as much as you like it coz the town itself is always feel so lively. Besides from the change that corona did, where everything has to be closed after 12pm. I will always gonna keep coming back to Penang!

Most visitors to Georgetown will make a bee line to be photographed with street art by Ernest Zacharevic. While the most popular "Little children on a bicycle" is weathered and fading fast, those wall mounted, 3D wire caricatures attracted my attention. Wire sculptures combined artistry and humour by telling interesting historical stories about a certain location and the people. Good luck finding all 52 of them.

All of the art around George Town can be a lot of fun to search for and discover. The art varies from place to place, and it’s nice to see the shops around too. However, I wish in some of the most famous parts, the city would consider making these areas more pedestrian friendly and now allow cars during holidays/busy times.

The art here is amazing. A lot of hotels and tourist locations provide leaflets which a checklist and map for the most common street art. Some tourists can block the art when taking photos. Try to be courteous when taking photos. Some patience required if you want to take a clean photo. The local authority should ensure no parking in front of art, as I've found parked cars blocking some amazing pieces of art.

Wandered through the lively streets of Penang adorned with incredible street art today! Each mural tells a unique story, turning the entire city into an open-air gallery. From whimsical pieces to thought-provoking works, it's a visual feast around every corner. Immerse in every nook and corner! A surprise round every nook and corner, it dressing up the streets! It is a smart way to create an interesting vibe. Different art installation allows you to be part of it. Just immerse yourself in the scene and it will get your meaning. It is fun to walk around the streets and catch a glimpse of old buildings.

Georgetown Street Art is one of the most visited places when tourist come to Penang. This place gives the vibe of historic yet fun feeling to tourist. This area are pretty with various kind of street art painting and installation where allowed tourist take picture. It would be better if the painting are well taken care of. The authority should have have maintained the painting, re-paint, recolor and re install the worn off art installation there to ensure tourist picture taken are pretty.

Kebanyakan art on the wall almost faded. So glad to captured them on my phone so I can have them printed. Most of the arts are painted close to each other so it is better to walk and park your car elsewhere or come here by grab.

I do enjoyed to take some pictures here🤍. The city is quite busy with the vehicle. Thus, if u play their electronic vehicle u must to be extra be careful because Penang driver is quite crazy ahahaha. The parking also limited because the place is on old town city. Overall, really recommended!

It has been more than 2 years since the last time I was here. Everything is different, sadly. The color is fading and some art are just not in a very good condition. I’m here just as Malaysia open their border. Penang is my first international destination (since covid) because it is my favorite place, it’s like I fly here at least 2-3 times in a year just to heal myself for 2-3 days, short escape (before covid). But covid make us all stay at home for like more than 2 yrs. I know it’s not easy for everybody. I hope Penang and their people stay good and safe. And maybe after all this, everything can get back to normal condition.

Nice little art section in Penang. Not much shops selling art there and the famous road side art pieces has degraded but worth to visit one batik gallery there. Quite a collection of various art pieces from across the region. Never knew there was also batik art forms from china as well. There is a small entrance fee when entering this private gallery. I guess they use this to keep the operation running. Exhibited pieces are privately owned and is a collection over many years. They are not for sale. Hope the state government place some priority to develop this area.

There isn't a lot more that I can add to the multitude of reviews here - lovely street art by various artists, but perhaps the most familiar and popular are the ones by Ernest Zacharevic, which have seen better days. If you go a little earlier you might be able to beat the crowds, otherwise you can expect a short wait as everyone takes turns for a photo op. There's one that's a little off the beaten track featuring a girl in blue that looks a little creepy.

Small streets with nice wall art you can feed your eyes. The only thing I would say about this is hopefully every piece of wall art within the premise is being taken care of. A plus of the shops is you can buy goods and food and drinks while enjoying your ‘walk in a park’

Photogenic walk around the city with lots of shophouses, cafes and street art. Can be pretty hot in the afternoon and be prepared to queue to take pictures for some of the street art. We went on a weekend afternoon and the crowd was still okay.

Must visit! Take interesting photos with mural. Sad to say the 3D murals are not well maintained. A lot of accessories falling apart. NO entrance tickets required. Murals are spread out within the area. Google Penang Street map which return links with locations of murals for easy navigating.

Charming little street filled with vibrant arts, ais kepal cafes and souvenir shops. The artworks are randomly placed - finding one is like solving a quiz. I would love to learn the story behind those arts - the artist and the inspiration, but such information are nowhere to be found. I guess the point of those arts is to admire and just to admire. They are indeed beautiful. I think it would be better if the main street (Armenian Street) is closed to cars and motorcycles on the weekend so that it would be safer for tourists to roam around and enjoy.

The street art is what made Penang famous. While walking around, it’s like going on a treasure hunt to see which art I can see. It was intersecting with different streets but I managed to find the art while rummaging through my Google Maps guide. I’ve seen street art in other countries but this one also defines what Penang culture is really all about.

This is a place where everyone wanted to visits as you may take a lots of pictures here of the murals, apart from that's the arts that showcase over here make you wow, trust me you will be wow👏 😮, To get parking here its really hard there's few parking area across the other streets when the parking fee about rm5 per hour. The streets most like jonker street in melaka but here the arts were showcase. You can take so many pictures here but if the crowd there you might need to wait for your turn to take pic. There's ice ball ice cream you may try here after long walking. Not to forget also there's was museum of camera and blue mansion there for you to take a visit apart from the wall arts.

Globally, there’s a very thin line between street art (or more commonly known as graffiti) and vandalism. In countries such as the United States and Budapest it tends to lean towards vandalism. However, somewhat similar to the likes of the Berlin Wall, Penang has seemed to manage to strike a balance. Our full review is on Instagram (@monk3yseendo)

Nice place to walk by...the alley full of nice wall art. You can park nearby if you driving but limited parking space provided. There's electric scooter you can hire for RM20 or depends. Plenty of souvenir shops and cafe alongside of the walk. Nice place for photoshooting and you can't miss to pay a visit here.

Best place to chill out with street art, while looking some souvenirs. Got certain old school guitarist that make me enjoyed seem him strumming the guitar. Quite a lot of background of art to get some good photoshoot.

This are the streets and backlanes in George Town Penang. Easy to find and park as there are private parking spaces available for a fee. I visited last weekend. Best thing to do is park nearby and take a walk. Lot of street art and wall pantings can be found here. There are many shops where Electric Scooters can be rented at RM20 per hour to make rounds of this small congested streets easily. Had popular Air Cendol . Can take rounds on Trishaw service here as well. Enjoyed an weekend evening here.

We had lots of fun having photos at the murals. The rustic ambiance of shophouses add beauty to it. Be warned that parking is quite difficult. It will be easier if you go early in the morninh before 9am as there will be ample of vacant parking spaces.

it was nice visit, but some of the mural are faded to see. It would be better if there is a map showing all the mural location so we can visit it all. But the location was good

A very lively place, I came during after raya season and at evening. Still many people, lots of shops still open, you can rent rickshaw, bicycle, e-scooter, or just walk around. It took us 1 hour ++ to really sight seeing and buying local products at the street. Was it worth it? Yes definitely!

Second time coming but the feeling is still good. Although weather is hot, but we can feel the culture are still strong. Taste the food, the street arts, interaction with local. 👍

Beautiful art on the wall. It's crowded very touristic place. There are some Chinese nice temples around. You should visit. Food is a little bit more expensive than other parts of penang. Enjoy your trip in penang

A great free experience. Maps are available online or at the airport on arrival. Locals are very proud of the artwork, trishaw drivers will happily show you the artwork if you book a trip with them. Or you can wonder the streets, enjoying all the sites and sounds on your hunt for the next mural. Lots of cafes, bars, and restaurants in the area to enjoy too.

Got the Penang Street Art tourist map from the hotel. Walk to where you want to see that mural. Stroll around, take some pictures, chill out at the cafes along the street.

Lovely to walk around and take it all in… all doable in a couple of hours, plus make sure to stroll further than the murals, the buildings and streets are quite a sight at night with lovely architecture, decorations, lights … especially better in the evening time with less heat and chaos in the streets :)

👍👍 Beneath the golden hues of twilight's embrace, I wander the Esplanade, a tranquil space. Amidst the laughter of locals and tourists near, Nature's symphony and history's whispers I hear. The gentle breeze dances through ancient trees, Whispering tales carried on the evening breeze. As I stroll past...
