Relocated. New place is bright and spacious. Ordered the Urban's Really Big Breakfast and a cup of cappuccino. Taste wise is satisfactory. The bacons, sausage and breads are noteworthy. Portion is just enough for 2 pax who have average appetite. Service is good. Staff are polite. Strangely Map still guide us to the old location thought it shows new address.

Tasty breakfast. With friendly staff and 2 cute cats. But is really hard to find parking space nearby this area. And the shop is so small that only cater few table.

Typical Western style cafe brunch. Ordered the Avocado Smash (RM24), Urban Really Big Breakfast (RM30), Latte (RM10), Macchiato (RM10), Best Drink Ever (RM13). Taste is alright, albeit not the best value for money. Three of us shared two mains but left feeling not too full. Parking is rather limited and had to make a few rounds just to get a spot. Environment isnt the best as well as the cafe is not spacious. Beware that there are cats running around as well if you are allergic to cats fur.

The food is on the pricey side but I definitely got my money worth. Every part of the big breakfast is so delicious. Their homemade sausage is so good. It was quite a big portion for one person, you'll be full. Great place for brunch.

Very small but cozy cafe to have some Australian breakfast. Luckily we went there early. Advisable to go there before 9am. Else you will end of waiting for seats. Taste is good, portion is just nice. Price is at higher side, but the taste and service can justify the price paid.

Lovely service by our wait staff Adrian. Order was easy: qr code. Good variety of food. Drinks are pretty standard. We enjoyed the food: Big breakfast, stout pulled pork, and fried chicken on waffles.

Came here before for brunch. But lost my pictures. Came back during cny day 2 for some coffee and desserts but quite a lot of stuff were sold out. Managed to try the French toast, price was a little steep at RM35. Good coffee, and service was also pretty friendly. Overall, a nice place.

Arrived bit after 0730 and was told that kitchen is ready for ordering only at 0800. Not a big deal as you can order drinks first while waiting. Really big breakfast was disappointing. Homemade pork sausage was bit porky and bland. Sourdough toast saved the dish. Latte arrived lukewarm. Servers were friendly and welcoming. Big plus. Might come back and try other dishes.

Overall this place was highly rated but some items I felt were hit and miss. The baked eggs and their Waffle with Fried Chicken were good for the price but their big breakfast felt lacking especially costing MYR48. As for their drinks, its also on the high side even for their coffee which comes in small cup sizes. But overall, a place worthy to try at least once.

Great little place for food and coffee. Service and prompt and friendly. Recommend to try the fried chicken with waffles. Do make a reservation if visiting with larger groups, space is a little tight. Parking in the area is difficult, need to come earlier to search for a space. Otherwise best to just take Grab.

My wife found this little gem and we all enjoyed it! After a week or so in Malaysia we have experienced a TON of local foods and street vendors, which have been amazing. To eat a more western style breakfast, with great coffee, proper napkins, interesting and beautiful artwork, and attentive service was a very nice experience. Highly recommend! The Urban breakfast is huge, enough for two easily. The steak sandwich was top notch, perfectly cooked and seasoned. Chicken and waffles was not something I expected to see out of the southern US; a bit different but we enjoyed the local flare.

Dont come here with empty stomache, its gonna wait longer than you expected. The portion for big breakfast is wayyy too small for 2 pax. Better order 2 dish instead. The sausage is very dry, better pair with some sauce. The waitress is very friendly and nice. Maybe we having too high expectations to this cafe, thats why we felt disappointed after tasting the dish.

Best Brunch. Slightly more rustic than some of the photos suggest. But wow, the food is amazing. This food which looks plated for photographs by the Instagram generation is actually better eaten than photographed. They have taken some very standard fare like poached eggs on avocado toast or grilled cheese and made them better, much better. With the skillful addition of fruit coulis or balsamic reduction the standard hipster fare has become a gastronomic experience. The old adage, simple food done well defines this rustic restaurant.

Food was disappointing and over-rated/overpriced. The taste was not bland but somehow too thick/creamy/greasy, egg flavor was too much and made us really quick to feel full, yet not satisfied. We ordered Hash & Eggs and The Perfect Omelette and were bored/full half-way eating and could not even finish them. Drinks were also normal. Milk Oolong was just… milk and oolong tea separately😂. The shop’s environment/ambiance was uncomfortable to us, too small and too dark, and there was an unpleasant smell the whole time that washed away our hunger (the combined smell of food and … something, I wished there would be some coffee scent, but there were not). Will not come back 🥲.

Definitely a high achiever among the many brunch cafes in the heart of Georgetown. It’s a great place to enjoy a slow-paced Aussie brunch. Food selections are very attractive, taste is up to par & the servers are friendly. Parking is relatively ok in the area.

I have to highlight, it's rare to find a cafe in Penang with such good customer service from the waiters and waitresses! They are so attentive and friendly! Food and coffee are great as well! Highly recommended!

Trendy cafe with delicious coffee and friendly staff. My partner and I beat the 9am rush and placed our order. We ordered the fried chicken waffles and big breakfast. The waffles came out first and was about a 8 minute wait until the big breakfast arrived. Both plates were well presented but lacking basic seasoning. The poached eggs on the big breakfast were in a bowl filled with water, they were hard to get out of the bowl without breaking. The knife with the cutlery set was also very blunt. Great wifi but an expensive breakfast outing.

We found Urban Daybreak through a travel blog and we had the most amazing experience. From the moment we walked in the door we were greeted by the staff as if we were frequent customers and the atmosphere was very chilled with lovely decor. We ordered the French toast and the pancakes, both of which were eloquently presented and delicious. The coffee was very nice also and the attention to detail was just amazing. The staff were so friendly and gave us some amazing tips of where to visit in George Town. It was by far our favourite breakfast in Penang and will be recommending it to everyone who visits George Town.

Food presentation tells everything. They served very balance, good breakfast until afternoon. The place may be narrow and small to cater a big group of people. So go there early to find a table :) you can park along the roadside, heritage places, and further down got open area car park too.

I recently visited Spaces cozy cafe to have some Australian breakfast and I was glad that we arrived early. It's advisable to go there before 9am to avoid having to wait for seats. The food was delicious and the portion size was just right. The atmosphere was warm and friendly, which made it an enjoyable experience. Overall, I had a great time at Spaces cozy cafe and would highly recommend it.

Huge anticipation prior to the visit. Place is small, colonial narrow shoplot, and parking is scarce. However, the deco was cozy and very bright. Servers were attentive and would also ask if sharing plates are needed. Pretty steep cafe food price but they made up with flavourful food. Highlight would be the fried chicken from the chicken waffle. It’s as good as the reviews mention.

I’m impressed… First off, it’s a lil pricy. But I’ll happily say you do get your money’s worth. Came here due to some random recommendation of FB, of all things… but I must say I was looking for an English breakfast. And boy do did they deliver. First off you know they are serious, when they can actually give you an option for your eggs… lol. And the sausage they gave was homemade! The whole platter is awesome, share it with someone and you can try out another of their dishes… we had a couple and can say it looks like their kitchen is good. On a note, the eggs and mushroom is a lil weird, it came of sweetish even with the chili oil... not sure where they were aiming the taste to. Drinks wise, their juices is top form - you do pay a price for them. We had both the latte and Spanish latte. I can say their coffee is pretty good and the standard latte is good enough and you don’t have to spring for the Spanish latte (a sweeter version of latte) not sure what they added to make it sweeter. - just take the standard. We were too full for any deserts and we came for breakfast anyways, so will prolly come back again and try their lunch offerings with their sweets Parking is hard to come by and the nearest paid parking lot is pricey at rm4 per 1/2 hour… just walk further down the road and another parking lot is just rm3 per hour. So it’s your choice. All in all, a definite thumbs up! A rare find in Penang… :)) Plus the mini art gallery they have on their walls are an additional plus and they have 2 charming resident cats…

Ordered 1. scramble trouble - 6/10, egg with cheese on toast. Nothing too spectacular. 2. Hungry burger - 7/10, beef burger with fries. Gets stuffy when you're reaching half the portion. Both Cinnamon ice chocolate and chai tea latte gets a 5/10. The chocolate flavor isn't thick either. Bonus points for having a plump tabby cat that's friendly with butt pats and chin scratches. Willing to give another try at their sweet waffles selection and petting the cat on the next visit.

The food still the same, delicious 😋. But there are a few new dishes in the menu. We order the real breakfast sandwich and pull pork toastie both were recommended dishes. But the sandwiches thick bacon or mince pork cube was slightly dry. But overall still awesome! Beverages are decent and standard. Unfortunately the yoghurt series were not available. Make sure you go early for the seating. The waiting could be up to 20-30 mins

Urban Daybreak is hands down the best cafe in Georgetown. In three years nothing comes close the most welcoming staff who looks after you perfectly great reconmendations a great menu with amazing flavors and very generous servings. Ten out of ten. Thanks for the great experience!!!!! You must try the chicken waffle

Cute and charming cafe with good brunch food and CATS!!!! I found them on a listicle and decided to try their signature chicken waffles. Chicken waffles were great, chicken batter was super crispy and fluffy and it came with a perfect sunny side up and baked beans. We also ordered spinach and mushroom for nutrition and that was amazing. My favorite part was the two adorable brown tabby cats roaming the cafe - they are super well behaved and sweet and friendly and I got to pet one of them! They usually hang out on the staircase landing. Definitely perked me up! If you love cats and feel like brunch definitely stop by!!

We have been to this cafe for the 4th time. Nice tasty breakfast and good coffee. We love the Stout Pulled Pork, Avocado Smash, Waffles At it's Best and Hash &Egg. However the waiters were not friendly and they don't smile. They have ruined the experience for us.I think the manager should reconsider his criteria when hiring the waiters.

Big brekkie taste legit but feel nothing really outstanding about it. Magic(sth like latte) coffee tatse is so so, coffee with hint of mint is nice. Dan Dan mian kinda special but no wow point for me. Second floor can be a little bit noisy when ppl walking around on the wooden floor.

It’s a big “yes” from us for the food, excellent service and the vibe! Great coffee and fantastic smoothies. We have been there twice for brunch and both times were super happy with everything. We had eggs on avocado toast, bircher/overnight oats, smoothies and flat white coffee, all dishes were excellent! Having travelled around Malaysia after I while we started to long for the egg on toast, bircher and coffee and this is exactly where we found it. So, this crush is mutual!

A pretty narrow shop but the atmosphere is quite relaxing. The menu is not too complicated. Parking is challenging along the street, so go park at the food stall car park instead.

Atmosphere is great, but food choices are limited & very heavy taste. Admire the honesty of the kitchen crew where they approach to tell us there is not enough of fried chicken pieces for the waffle and ask us if its ok to replace with one piece of their homemade sausages.

The service & the atmosphere is awesome but the food. We ordered their new pancake Lemon Ricotta Panckae and all I can say their previous pancake is so so much better. The new pancake is just "meh" and the portion is too small for that steep price.. The next item we ordered was the Spiced Tomato Pork Stew with Eggs & Garlic Bread. All I can taste is the cumin spice and it lacks of seasoning & flavour. Honestly for the price & all the hype from the advertisement, it missed the mark.

This is my first try in this shop. Tried out their pulled pork toast with poached eggs. And their shashuka with pork meat. A little salty but overall taste is quite good. Ample space with lots of seats. Their baristas are 2 handsome AngMo (whites). 😁😁 fully aircon and quite chilly. Good place to hang out for breakfast.

Ordered French Toast during MCO for breakfast and had it delivered by Grab. After eating for 10 mins, me and my wife had a bad diarrhea! It is probably the homemade peanut butter spread that is not fresh. Be careful as it seems the SOP for this restaurant is bad. To response to the owner reply, I have mentioned that we had for breakfast. So our stomach was empty and we did not have any issues with our dinner the previous day as otherwise we would have gone to the toilet all night. Also our daughter had the salmon from your restaurant and she has no issue.

I very seldom to review places, but i am going to share my single cent Urban daybreak is one of my favourite brunch in penang, especially big breakfast, taste of sausage and fried mushrooms taste is very good, it’s unforgettable. But your restaurant seat availability is getting lesser, from last time at least 7 tables, now only left 4 tables is available during lunch time, not to mention 1st floor, behind space table is occupied by dish and sauces, and i am asked to wait at least 30mins for a table. Just to share with u, many customers like me only have 1 hour lunch time, plus your shop location is not easy to get parking, it may take at least 10mins or more to search for parking lot, sometimes will cost us RM 6 for private parking, at last asked to wait another 30mins for your table. At last i dont having chance to enjoy your tasty food to enlighten my day There’s a rumours saying Urban Daybreak is going to shut down, not necessary to clarify to me because it’s just a rumour, but facts is seat is getting lesser, feel like repelling customers. Pls correct me if i said something wrong, cheers

last visit was a couple of years ago at the old location. This location is new to me right beside Two Frenchies Ordered the pulled pork and avocado smash for brunch. Splendid taste. One of the good spot for breakfast/brunch that still retains their quality over the years. However, some of the offerrings might be over the top for small eaters 😉

There was a hype before we came. The crowd builds up and the anticipation was swelling up. We eventually got a place and ordered the most popular dish. The big breakfast and the waffle fried chicken which were the top 2 recommended dish. We also ordered the Spanish Latte and the berry drink which was very good. The waffle fried chicken came and hit the mark without a doubt but we waited for the big breakfast a tad longer. The good thing is that the servers were very fast to react by reaching out to us and offered us some drinks to calm our growling stomachs. Eventually, it came and again, very well done and love how flaky the scrambled eggs were and served with a generous serving of spinach. Overall, the place deserves the credit and the rating. The internal deco was worth mentioning with the colonial theme drawing clean lines and matching wooden furnitures. Great place and high recommended.

Fried chicken waffle was nice with special sauce. All mix together taste very nice. Bacon Cabonara taste better than normal but not recommended to order. Both portion are quite big, if you are not big eater, would be good to order 1 to share.

A bit disappointed or maybe we had too high expectations from the reviews we got online? Hmmm Environment and ambience were great, we visited on a weekend morning, not too crowded, people are not too loud, just nice. Parking wise - we parked at the parking space near whiteaway arcade and walk there, not too far. They do have roadside parking as well, you can try your luck. Okay, now, the food. We ordered fried chicken waffle and peanut butter toast, both are one of their best sellers Fried chicken waffle We expected a savoury and sweet combo so they neutralise and compliment each other (At least this was what we tasted last time in the US) Fried chicken was just nice, not overcooked nor undercooked, still juicy inside when we bit it. However, the marinate was staying just at the skin part, not well marinated enough. Waffle - too much baking powder so it tasted a bit bitter and we expected a firmer or maybe those hard waffle? not those fluffy ones cause maple syrup will be drizzle on top, the fried chicken will be stacked on top of the waffle, so it would become pancake. And fluffy means more baking powder, and leads to bitterness Overall, fried chicken and waffle can be eaten separately but not together cause not well balanced enough Peanut butter toast Hmmm, more like banana toast. Yea, it was written in the menu what they've included in the dish - banana sauce, peanut butter, cream, maple syrup and etc I love the caramelised banana slice, nicely char and the salted caramel complimented the sweetness from the banana but not overpowering it Love the toast! Fluffy like a cloud, well cooked. And the peanut butter, I think they made it themselves, it's aromatic and I love it with the crunchy peanut bits. Kinda like the apom peanut sugar fillings but in butter form. In my humble opinion, banana sauce is too extra, overpowering the whole dish. Together with the banana slice, I couldn't even taste the peanut butter. It tasted more like banana toast with a hint of peanut butter, instead of the main key of the dish, peanut butter tasted just like a support. Again, the dish tasted better if you eat it separately. Not well balanced enough Will I visit this shop next time? Maybe..? If my friends or family wanna try this place out. I don't mind to give another try for other dishes, but not peanut butter toast nor fried chicken waffle

Extremely disappointing. Ordered avocado toast with poached egg, turned out to be two overcooked fully boiled eggs. Another dish we ordered was really big breakfast, when the plate came there wasnt any meat seen. And they claimed they “FORGOT” to give us the homemade sausage and bacon. Really an unpleasant experience.

Tried a lot of cafes here in Georgetown but this one’s my favorite! The coconut latte is my favorite, but just having their coffee black is already such a treat. The staff is so lovely too! Really friendly, and they even gave us some off the menu items to try out. Please put up a branch in Manila! 😭
