Outrageous ! You pay 90TL for the boat and when you arrive in the island, you have to pay more 290 TL just for walking at the stairs because you're not a local. The local price is 60 TL so 5 times more when you're stranger. I can't believe this is real. Scandalous, don't come here tourists, it's theft !

After paying 90 TL for the boat, we arrived on the island and had to pay a compulsory fee to be able to visit, and on top of that we had to pay 290 TL while Turkish people had to pay 60 TL. This is the image that Turkey gives. shameful.

Very beautiful place, but crowded. I recommend to visit Akhtamar late evening, using last boat, so there will be less people

That after paying the ferry fee (90 TL) you have to pay 290 TL to enter, while local people enter either for free or only by paying 60 TL, and there is no any service in the area that is worth paying such an amount, it is a robbery in Turkish style

Beautiful, especially in this snow time, empty, no one only us and the boat workers, so much calm, good view, really magical, fantastic weather, not cold not hot. I would like to come here again for spring time also, to go again that island. So enjoying, I recommended

Very Easy and convenient. There is lots of parking here, but you can also get a dolmush from Gevash or the Center of van. When you arrive, simply walk on to the nearest waiting ferry and eventually a man will come to collect your fare. It is 10 lira per person and covers both the trip to the island and the return. Different boats have different amounts of protection from the elements. The ride is about 20 minutes. No Lifejackets or other safety equipment were visible on either of the boats I rode on.

Beautiful, pleasant island with Well Restored Church and Olive garden. For me This Medieval Era building is more impressive than Ani's. There almost no shade from the Sun in the island. Two way ferry cost 25TL.

When we arrived, immidiatly Boarded on boat and paid cash for adults (Children are free). Usually the boat waits to be filled with passengers. It may take 15 to 20 minutes.

Masterpiece of ancient Armenian architecture. The church is located on the island at the lake of Van. If you happens to be near by, it is a must visit place, I assume. The boats are departing regularly, in about half an hour or so.
