Quite expensive now that it has reopened. Very quiet on the midweek night that we went in. Some folks in for a quick drink before the show at The Kings theatre and after they left we were the only two people in the place. Biggest surprise is that they don't sell Tennent's lager! I bet Mr Griffin would have something to say about that! 🍻

Now open again after being taken over by the Isle of Skye, this Glasgow establishment located opposite the King's Theatre has a fresh feel but retaining its character. With a great selection of beers and other drinks, it also offers a good choice of food. The staff are friendly and helpful too. It deserves a visit and should become a firm favourite and is recommended.

I was often a regular at this bar and attended events such as the comedy night during week days. This is a good bar, good selection of drinks. Door staff can be also picky here where they will let me in in a Friday but not a Saturday, l suppose it depends who is on shift, if your face fits your in or your not. Not been back here for over 2+ years.

Popped into the Griffin bar a stone throw away from The Kings Theatre for a small refreshment. Haven't been in here since the mid ninety. The main feature is the bar itself stunning. Staff were very friendly, prices reasonable for the town. Didn't have something to eat, but the menu looked good loads to choice from. 😋✔️

Great locals spot! Sat at the bar, staff was excellent and as a solo female traveler they made me feel welcome. Stayed longer than I was going to just because of these wonderful young employees and new found friends! Thank you for a great time!

Lovely feel to this traditional bar. Nice light through the big windows. Popped in on route to the King's theatre. Very busy but still felt spacious. Music. Nice selection of beers available.

Stopped by today while in Glasgow for some food and a couple of drinks now it’s back open. Food was superb. They have a great chef who I heard brought his own team with him. Very high standard. Pints lovely and cold and staff lovely and warm. What’s not to like.

FABULOUS REOPENING OF ICONIC PUB. Wandered in for a drink with friends after great show at the nearby King's Theatre. The pub is in great shape, the staff really friendly and the atmosphere vibrant as ever. It is SO nice to see The Griiffin open again. Theatre goers and office workers alike will be delighted. Well done to The Isle of Skye Brewing Company - Lang may yer lum reek!

Great bar. Brilliant selection of whiskeys, gins and ales. Ideally situated across from the Kings. Love coming in for a drink after a show. Lovely atmosphere, great staff. If your in the area definitely recommend stopping in for a drink.

The mac and cheese was absolutely superb, and at £8 a real bargain when just about everyone else is charging twice the price for meals only half as good. Isle of Skye beer on tap was good. And the music, lots of 1970s new wave and reggae, also did it for me. A great pub

Hopefully they employ less surly staff, and improve on the food as diabolical offerings at 30th birthday l attended, also security staff overly abusive.

Traditional style pub with plenty of character which is getting harder to come by these days. Tends to be busy Friday and Saturday and not the easiest place to find a seat but there's a big bar area and seats outside. Nice mix of ages with good prices and staff are friendly.

This is a very good pub with great decor and atmosphere. However, in the six months since I last visited, it has declined as it has tried to accommodate the hipster crowd (unsuccessfully, I'd say). On my last visit, the staff were nice but not attentive and the young lady behind the bar seemed to be working at her own pace, even though the bar was quiet. Six months ago, I gave The Griffin five stars. It's four now. I'm also not convinced by the quality of some of their new beers. But the hash with black pudding and pulled pork was nice.

Great pub drank in here many many years ago glad to see it has not changed that much and brought back some good memories as I walked in. A good pint of Guinness served by friendly and welcoming bar staff and only hope it will not be that long before I am back

Myself and mum had tickets for a show in the Kings and were so excited that the Griffin was back open. It didn't disappoint. The staff, namely Jen and Shona were just fabulous. Customer service was crazy good. So so sweet and genuinely engaging! The food was lovely. The Chef's tartare sauce made me a bit silly it was that good ooooft, chunky yummy 😍 please give this place a go it's awesome 😁

Had lunch and drinks , lunch was lovely ,only one criticism the fish batter was a bit soggy , but was replaced right away with new ones but wasn't any better to be honest , drinks expensive £7 for a glass of wine , rest of the groups meal was really good .

Iconic city centre bar. I’m biased as I’ve been drinking here forever but it’s a great place for a drink. Typical offerings for draught and spirits but it’s cosy and cool with some colourful characters

Great place, very clean and staff are friendly and accommodating. Busy times I think would be before and after the theatre. The food was fantastic Isle of Skye beer braised steak and beef cheek pie with cheddar mash, the best I've ever tasted

Not a bad pub if you're not in a rush. Sit back and relax while the girls have a meeting/chat while you wait to be served. It seems that planning how to serve customers brings in more money than serving customers. Used to be such a great pub.

We hired the function room for my 50th birthday party. The room looked great. It was very good value for money and Jen and the team were really helpful with great advice on the run up to the party. It was nice to have our own entrance for the smokers, and our own bar with fantastic barman. The buffet was excellent with good range of choices and the food was brilliant. We all had a great night and would strongly recommend for your function. Thanks

On our first day, we went for a walk around the area close to our hotel. We bought umbrellas and enjoyed our walk. As we were heading home, we stopped by the Griffin to enjoy an adult beverage. Staff were helpful, courteous, and friendly. Debra enjoyed a gin and tonic while tried a local beer!

Great pub! Popped in for a couple of drinks before Sunshine on Leith in Kings. Great atmosphere, especially when playing Proclaimers music! Staff very quick to serve especially as pub was packed 👏

Had some food and drinks on a cold December Tuesday. The burger was good but a bit pink. Lucky I like it that way but imagine a few people being put off. It was about £15 so on the pricey side with a small portion of chips. For that price they could chuck on more chips especially with the bars round the corner being a lot cheaper. Chicken wings were poor. About £7 for 5 very thin wings. Not well cooked and meager. Avoid. Overall for a quiet night service was slow and food average and expensive. It's a nice old bar but if you want atmosphere The State round the corner is better and the food at Spoons is better and cheaper.

Clientele seemed a bit .... Entitled? Which is weird but the staff were nice and the actual place itself was nice. Wasn't sure if it was the comedy gig that was attracting the crowd but it didn't feel particularly welcoming or friendly

Good atmosphere and good selection of spirits. They only get a 3 because £2.50 for a can of coke a disgrace. I don't care about sugar tax, that is obscene, but other than that, no complaints.

Good range of drinks and food is not to expensive. Big oval bar in the centre of the pub which gives it that proper old fashioned pub feel about it. There are a few cubicles for seating as well as tables/chairs and there is seating outside
