Best science museum for kids. Every concept is well displayed with a hands-on equipment. 4 hours was not sufficient for my kids. Good options in cafe. Drinking water have to be looked at. Highly recommended for kids from 7 years and above. Kids were amazed..

It's not advanced much since it opened. Same displays apart from expensive visiting attractions. Primary school age kids will like it. Not a lot for older kids. Planetarium was good and IMAX cinema reopens in May. Would be good if it had a discount for disabled concession card holders and carers. Remember to get your car park ticket stamped at reception so you can get out of car park. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Car park has no time limit so you can explore area after visiting.

Amazing place for kids to learn and play. Good for all age kids. Even for adults quite entertaining. A full day outing with learning and fun.

The Glasgow science centre is a great day out for the whole family. There is an entrance fee but it's not overly expensive. Inside is filled with a huge number of interactive exhibits. Three full floors of science experiments that anybody can have fun taking part in. There is also a 3D planetarium you can go in and be taken a tour of the universe. Also they have a small 3D cinema screen. There's a cafe and a kids soft play area too.

Great place to visit - you can spend the whole day here! Love that there are so many interactive activities to do for kids and adults alike. We also booked the planetarium show which was really interesting.

This is a wonderful place in every sense of the word. My wife and I were there with our 3 grandchildren, aged 10,10, and 7, and we all loved it. It cost almost £100, but considering that this included a visit to the planetarium and imax cinema, as well as unlimited access to all the exhibits and a voluntary donation, I consider it money well spent. We were there for 4½ hours but could have been there even longer for the same price. Reasonably priced food is also available.

Great place to walk around with the centre spread over three different levels. Lots of interesting hands on demonstration objects to try which will keep children and adults of all ages engaged. If visiting during a weekday and schools are starting to go in go directly to the top floor where it will be quieter and work your way down.

This is a brilliant place for a full day picnic with family. It's a fun place, not just for kids but for adults alike. There is enough to keep everyone engaged for the whole day. We reached about 11:30, just in time for the mind blowing IMAX show on our beautiful earth from space followed by 3 floors of scientific experiments and activities to explore. There's also a science show and the final cherry-on-the-top planetarium session. You have to visit this place at least once if you're in Glasgow. It's worth every buck! You can have your lunch either at the in-house cafeteria or bring your own packed lunch. There's also a small gift and souvenir shop inside the building. Make sure you book for the entire day to get a discounted parking onsite. Enjoy!

There’s so much for kids (and adults!) to enjoy here. Our visit including an IMAX documentary lasted about 5 hours. Lots of interactive things to do and would recommend the animal film.

A visit to the science centre is always a good day out for young kids and adults alike - be sure to make a day of it rather than visit for a couple of hours. It's easy to find, plenty of parking and some good bus links almost right outside. Entry may seem expensive but when you consider the volume of things to do and the time you can spend there, it's good value. Food sold on premises like most places is rather expensive but a "picnic area" is available to eat food that you take with you. Be sure to note the show times when you arrive and plan to see them accordingly, they are free but can fill up quickly especially on busy days such as peak holidays.

We had a Great day out here and highly recommend it for family's. Pros: Lots of activities - all very interesting and most are fun for a variety of ages. Plenty of room around the activities to make your way round other groups. Some activities in the body bit let you save your stats to a card (would be cool to see this on more activities). There are plenty of activities around to try out while you wait for another one to become available. Plenty of staff around to help or point you in the right direction. They're also lovely and friendly. Cons: There was a few activities on each floor that were broken (hopefully not out of commission too long) Some activities can be really busy so you can have a long wait (also depends how long certain people spend on activities). It can become slightly disorientating just due to the layout. We didn't go to the IMAX cinema or planetarium so can't comment on how good those are but they are additional to the entry price.

Glasgow Science Center is fantastic for families with children ages 5 to 11. Everyone, including adults, could find something to enjoy. Every time you go, there is something fresh to see and do since there is so much to see and do. Friendly staff greeted us just inside the door and showed us where to go. We love the Planetarium and enjoyed the fantastic show on the night sky and the neighboring planets.

We were a group of 10 with kids ages ranging from 4-16 and we were all kept busy for hours! Had a great time and the activities sparked lots of interesting questions from the kids. We watched the Are we alone? Planetarium show which was great and worth the extra £3.50 pp.

All the stars for the Planetarium because it is the highlight of the science centre and a true state of the art place! The Pink Floyd experience is fantastic (I also saw the Queen Heaven but it wasn't as impressive). The staff are great and always start by explaining a little bit about the place, with a super quick virtual tour of the universe. I hope they add more audio-visual experiences, they're a brilliant and different kind of activity!

Excellent place to visit. So much to see and do. Spent over 4 hours there and passed very quickly. The tower is worth a go. Amazing views over the city. Good for little kids and big ones. Thankfully there's a cafe too if you forget to bring your own food. Work being done at the moment so looks like even more to come.

This place is incredible!! Could easily spend a day here. Toddlers area is awesome! Water play area was a massive hit. My 12y.o enjoyed all three levels. We only went for a few hours which really wasn’t enough time. I can really see the value in getting an annual pass. Tower was shut due to high winds so we didn’t get to go up. Cafe downstairs serves great, tasty, affordable food. There is also an indoor ‘picnic area’ if you want to byo.

Fabulous experience. We went with our two young children but we would love to go back and explore ourselves. So much to see and extremely varied and interactive activities. The planetarium was great too and catered for all ages and understanding levels. Only thing to note is that if you have young children they should use the loo's before you go in because if you need to leave you're not allowed back in. Very friendly staff throughout.

A very lovely, nice, and innovative place to visit with the entire family. The Imax 3D cinema space show, the planetarium, and the various science innovations on exhibitions are mindblowing. The ticketing and check-in process was very smooth and seamless. A totally enjoyable experience awaits visitors to this centre.

This was beautiful, entry is £12, there's parking if u need it. Got some beautiful views if the city and the 'canal'... it's has a lot of stations to enlighten young people on science careers. Easily accessible, spacious lifts, escalators to ease accessibility as it has 3 floors I had a feeling it's for young persons rather than older people, but I guess with the right guidance it is a resourceful space!

Some interesting things to learn and lots of activities to do. Unfortunately there was alot of schools there the day we went with really noisy unruly children which the teachers weren't controlling, they was running about screaming and we had to have a break in the coffee shop to bear going back in. So more supervisors needed as the teachers didn't care. It was alot better once they left at 2/2:30pm. We booked onto the Planetarium tour but didn't go in as when we was waiting there was an obviously very ill child coughing non stop and we didn't want to get ill for the rest of our holiday especially as she was not putting her hand over her mouth and coughing over everything. Definitely take hand sanitisation with you. Staff friendly and helpful. Cafe good. Children enjoyed most of it.

Interesting and fun, so many things to try and to discover. 3 floors with different activities for all the ages. I didn't waste a second, excited like a kid i was trying everything. On the final stage you can relax on the Planetarium watching 360° visuals.

We took our children, 6 & 9, on a visit from South Africa. They absolutely loved it. We took the easy walk over the bridge from the CSS bus stop. You could spend a whole day here and still want to stay for more! Lots of activities for all ages. Great value.

We visited the Planetarium to see a Pink Floyd film - of one of their albums- Dark side of the Moon- It was projected by several projectors on to the roof, which gave a fantastic effect. We had recliners and it was a great experience. Photo shows one of the exhibits in the central area where we waited to get in- not of the Planetarium.

Well worth a visit with young kids. We travelled there on open top bus and facilities incl toilets and eateries were first class. A good way to spend c.4 hours and at no stage were the youngsters bored it really does not get better than that

Great facility. Sadly the event taking place at the planetarium was less than satisfying - to me at least - not the Science Centre's fault - a Fulldome Experience of Pink Floyd's The Wall which was excruciating. Before the event, the staff member introduced things with a planetarium talk which was fine except that she had a 'would be comic' approach which was somewhat annoying - making sure everybody knew her name by mentioning it all the time - I can't remember what it was now!

Fantastic museum for the whole family. Full to the brim with interactive hands-on activities. So much to do that your rarely left waiting to try something out. Museum cafe also very good with great choice at reasonable prices.

This is the finest science center i have been to in Scotland. It's a vast cornucopia of fun and knowledge. Spread over 3 floors, it covers at the moment engineering, the human body and renewable energy topics. There is also a planetarium with shows which cost extra. If you plan on visiting more than a few times a year the passport (season ticket) is better value. The staff are always very friendly and especially so when they have special events on. There is food in a large cafe at the rear of the ground floor and food is decent with options for all dietary requirements. There's is access to all floors by lifts. You won't be disappointed with a visit here and I won't be surprised if you will be soon booking another visit as you can possibly take it in in one.

Took a school trip and it was very disorganised. Staff didn't seem to know what was happening or where we were supposed to be and when. I felt they had arranged too many schools for the same day. I felt sorry for members of the public who were trying to give their kids a nice day at the science centre!

By far one of the best science experiences I’ve had in a while. As soon as I entered I turned into an 11 year old and couldn’t help but try everything and test everything. The different floors had so much to offer and with a little help reading the signs my son was able to leave having learned something new. The cafe needs a better coffee service but saying that, there was a Starbucks over by the I-Max theatre. The 3D movie scared the bajeebas out of me but apart from that it was excellent.

I was at an exhibition at the SEC and took a walk down to the river and noted that there were 2 bridges directly to this excellent Science Centre. I was really impressed with this place, they have a lot of great exhibits, although it has to be said that these are very much focused towards young people, still no problem with this, I hope it is inspirational to our youth. It's also free. Kudos Glasgow.

Came to Glasgow to see still game and during our time came across this on Google. Very reasonable prices and a lot to do here! Definitely something for everyone and even a play area for children I saw. Only downside of this centre is that while we were here kids weren't being watched by parents and would distract us from an activity and it's no fault of the centre but I believe maybe an adult only zone would be cool?

  • 5/5 G 1. 4 years ago on Google

Science centre is a must visit, especially if you have kids who will find it helpful to visualise various science facts. Even for grown ups it's a place you will recall and see science in action. I was bit worried to book, considering the Covid situation, but after reaching the venue felt really comfortable, since the staff was doing sanitization very frequently. Sanitizer are kept at so many places and you won't find difficult to find one. Staff was very friendly. Easily it will take around 3 hours to explore entire place. There is room for lunch if you are packing lunch.

Very impressed with the current safety measures. Staff were friendly and helpful as always and quick to clean interactive exhibits after use. Despite some exhibits being closed, still plenty to keep entertained and the reduced numbers means we probably saw more as nothing was too busy. Bit strange booking cafe order the day before but it ran very efficiently.

We had a great day out last weekend as a treat for my sons 7th birthday. There was so much to do for all ages. We booked our time slot for the cafe which worked well because it meant there was no queuing. We were shown to our table straight away and because we had pre ordered and paid for our food, that was bought to our table within 5 minutes of sitting down. Great service! Lovely, friendly staff as well. The staff around the rest of the centre were all great as well. They show you how to do different things and are always available to answer questions. They have lockers to put all your coats in, to save you carrying everything around, which is a returnable £1 coin. They are quite small though, so you may need more than one.

Please note this review is based on a very short visit due to issues with the in-house wheelchairs. The way this was handled was great. We only got as far as the 1st floor and the planetarium. So please take this into account. That said the first floor was very bitty and I didn’t know what was where in the museum. I could have done with a map. Issue I had and how it was resolved correctly: I needed a wheelchair and checked in advance if they had them. They did so didn’t bring mine, it’s bulky to get into car. First chair had a flat tyre. Second had an issue with an arm rest which whilst transferring broke off and I hurt all my side and shoulder. The two ladies in the planetarium were amazing, they recorded the incident without prompting. They undertook first aid on my arm, provided a sling. I couldn’t carry on the visit due to my arm so they refunded my ticket and gave me 3 free tickets so I could come back when better. Couldn’t ask for more. The one star lost are for accessibility as some displays you currently can’t interact with in a wheelchair. That said I am told they are updating this. They also wanted me to email them my photos and thoughts. Final thoughts 💭: I will return to give it another go so in my opinion it’s worth the visit, just take your own wheelchair!

Wow there’s so much to do here! My 4 year old loved it. There must be a thousand things for the kids to touch and explore and they are allowed to touch everything - what a great spot to let them play and learn with a free reign. Great for their imagination and curiosity 😊 staff lovely, cafe had surprisingly great options, everywhere spotless and gift shop had lovely quirky gifts too.

A chance to interact with the fundamental laws of nature. Nothing in a text book or online matches see touch and feel for inspiration and understanding how the world works. Great interactive exhibits everything from sound waves, pulleys, illusions, three phase power and Newtonian dynamics. The planetarium is also surprisingly good and the presenters deliver another engaging experience for school kids. A must see, and a potential door opener for a new generation of scientists and engineers.

It’s an excellent place to go for adults and kids alike. It’s got so many hands on activities and games to teach how the world works. It’s super full of school kids in the morning though so buy your tickets in advance.

I've visited the Glasgow Science Centre Museum several times over the years and I thought it'd be a good time to write down a constructive review based on my visits. Firstly, it's really easy to book a ticket, you have the option of either booking the tickets online and having the add-ons included or you can go inside and join the queue but there is a bit of a wait if you do that. I've always booked my tickets online and then I was able to print my tickets at home to show the booking office to gain entry. Once through the booking section, you can either climb up the escalator or use the lift to gain entry to the main section, and I've always thought this was such a lovely place to visit, a lot of the reviews on here say that this is more geared towards the younger customers but I find I still have fun because there are a lot of interactive pieces and while the information isn't detailed, it offers a good introduction into science. I've visited the planetarium too, which was lovely, however, it isn't accessible for deaf people as there are no subtitles or a British Sign Language interpreter meaning that I had just watched the stars go by and honestly, this was relaxing and I did enjoy myself but I didn't learn anything new.

The place works well as a science center and Event organization. Remember that COP 26 was held in here. Intuitive learning experience for kids, but it was shocking that I didn't know slot of simple things. Go with an open mind..

Great place to visit for all ages, staff are very friendly and there is so much to do. Lots of care is put in to giving a 5 Star experience. Every Sunday is Autism Sunday, radios are turned down and hand dryers are turned off, noisy exhibits are switched off and there are quiet areas available to relax incase of overstimulation. Highly highly recommend. It’s worth going to see a planetarium or science show theatre show.
