Not a bad establishment. Cheap drinks, half decent food. But the staff seem to have a chip on their shoulder... I've had two members of the team be extremely rude to me over the last week and whilst I appreciate that we all have our personal problems, there is no excuse to be rude to a customer paying money for a service. So yes, nice pub, but the staff need to seriously work on how they treat customers, no matter what capacity they may know them in. Z.

Good standard spoons with food and drink offers inc specials, clean and tidy with helpfull staff, nice place to stop and visit One of those bad designs however, lower level has tables to sit at but stairs to half level and no ramp but disabled toilet so out of pub round the city centre and in back door, then you challenge the mobility scooter blocking you way and crowd of men on games machines who all have to move for the door to open.

Friendly staff, good choice of beers. We ordered "Gourmet Steak" @ £22.20 for 2 meals, mine was 80% fat! Staffs attitude was: "Yeah, they come up like that from time to time"!!! Head Office not interested in my complaint! I won't eat in there again but will return for a drink.

Visited tonight as i have many times before. Took my two grandchildren to the ladies toilet. The toilets were disgusting. The tiies, especially the ones below the hand dryers, were absolutely filthy. The grout was black with mould and general dirt. It made me feel physically sick! Makes me wonder what the kitchen is like.

It’s easy to say this was exactly as expected. Steak night that couldn’t happen as they had run out of the steak.. Opted for the chicken tasty was will cooked not dry which was an add bonus.. Curry that my friend opted was also tasty however the poppedons were dry and stale.

Used to love the pocock but now it's getting really shabby. Gammon steak is more like bacon (thin), only sauce they have is pretty much ketchup, don't bother to cut your pizza and the normal steak is that tough it asked me for a fight outside. Will not be coming here for food anymore unless some serious changes are made

I its so comfortable, home from home, you can enjoy your time and meal!! The drink and food very good value!! Best ever we always like to have a walk in and walk home!! We did talk to a staff member, waitress, young lady around 20s very long hair, there, we haven't seen her since she was lovely made a point to talk to us!! We didn't mind we loved it, Thats was around 6weeks!! Or more or less, miss her!! She was the only one who made a friendly chat!! 🥰🥰🥰💓💗💓💗💓💖 we went sat 15 on July 2023 The down side; We noticed no tables and chairs outside after 9.30pm no table or chairs, we always used to go out to have a last drink outside. What happened??🤔 Did ask members of staff didn't seem to know why!! Love going out there? Now they were taken away, I do hope they put them back on Saturday nights?? from Tina and steve!!

Standard Witherspoons. Normal mix of clients you would expect. Good layout. Clean tidy, toilets in good condition and clean.

We were served by Sam this past Saturday (26/08/23) and after accidentally putting the wrong table number on our order via the app, he searched the whole pub to find us and then delivered our food. He was very attentive, friendly and the food was spot on. Second time here and we have been very pleased both times.

Unbeatable prices for quality food and drink. Only given 4 stars for service as sometimes there is a large time gap between receiving food and drink. Other than that, it's perfect.

...One extremely popular warm... friendly family public house... really friendly staff and excellent food... If you love your tea or coffee then for £1.02 you can refill your cup from 08:00 till midnight... free wifi and somewhere to keep out of the cold... Fully recommended...

It was the first time I had been there and I have to say I was impressed. Lots of seating over two floors. A very mixed range of age groups. But most of all nice priced drinks. The pub went in to before a round of drinks was £19. In this place around was £10.50 . So I know where I will be drinking next time I am in Gravesend.

Like most wetherspoons. It had a really good selection of beers wines and spirits all at very good prices. Really good menu including a good breakfast menu again at very good prices. Very large pub which is well used and could do with a lick of paint and a carpet cleaner. Staff were friendly enough.

Very good value for money and quick and efficient staff makes it an easy choice of where to eat and drink when in town. The Golden Lion Wetherspoons Rochester should learn a lesson or two of How to run a pub from the Wetherspoons in Gravesend!! 😂😂.

Food was very good 👍🏼 😋. Generous portion. Service quick using app. No follow-up once food arrived though, but no complaints.

Generally one of the better spoons for food and service. Usual boring Gloom Bar, Abbot etc. enlivened fairly regularly with one decent hoppy golden ale. 28/9/22 it was JHB. Staff overworked but mostly helpful and pleasant.

Regular Wetherspoons pub, nice and clean even at 8.20 am ! Breakfasts were as good as expected - better than some ! 2 breakfasts and all coffee you can drink for £14.,cant be bad.

Quickly service and friendly staff. Enjoyed our breakfast. Only marking it down a star because there were a lot of dead flies on the window frame where i was sat and it put me off a little. I understand that flies die but it was only the morning so they must have been there a little while

Usual wetherspoon value. Stopped for a coffee on Saxon shoreway walk. Lovely interesting building with stained glass windows

Well, what can I say, it's a Wetherspoons. I'd been drinking all day in Northfleet and we'd just missed yet another train so the BR staff very kindly directed us to the pub so's I could get a reviving cuppa and Kate could get another white wine. The cuppa was....interesting but it did the trick and we both cheered up as it was better than waiting on the train platform and our seats were comfy. So thanks, Wetherspoons, you saved the day.

Food not very hot. Ask for hot food when ordering some time you get it hot. Food nice when and drinks cheep. Staff helpful. Nice pub

  • 5/5 Colin P. 1 year ago on Google
Gave it five stars as like all spoons you get cheap drinks and food. Staff were good, and order through the app and the service is very quick. Can't fault it.

When ordering food and drinks the wait staff can't come to your table quick enough, but nobody is bothering to check when you're done to take away used plates. We had to wait around 30 minutes after ordering desert to then ask if they would take them when they delivered our deserts. I then had to prompt the second wait staff again to take empty glasses with them when they delivered our new drinks. Food wasn't bad, but could be better if I'm being completely honest.
