Stayed here for 2 weeks on a business trip and I couldn't find one thing good to say about this hotel. The building is extremely outdated and in disrepair. Room signs had fallen on the ground and doors to the pool were broken with a paper sign on it. Our A/C went out on day 3 and they had to put us in a new room. They also never cleaned our room once, in 2 weeks, even after we asked them, every day for 4 days straight and just gave up. Breakfast was also supposed to be included for 5 or more days but we "didn't book the right rate" and it would still be $15 a person which is laughable for a buffet. People like this should not be in business. Save your money if you are considering this place.

I’m visiting this location from Michigan, during a trip to Six Flags. When I arrived, my room was ready, clean and inviting. The pool was refreshing and when my group and I noticed the happy hour food special, we chose to dine at the hotel rather than leaving and seeking out fast food. Brett was faced with a high volume of guests with regard to my group, but he kept his poise and professionalism throughout. His customer service was stellar and his personality was a refreshing parallel. I could not be more pleased with my experience! I hope to cross paths with him and the rest of the staff again someday.

UNCLEAN ROOMS The first room I was given at checkin smelled of dampness, and cigarette. I requested to change it. The room was changed, when I came to that room past midnight, its toilet did not work and it also smelled bad, and was not clean. Requested for bedroom slippers, was told that they are not available. Was moved to another room, it still smelled, but less than the previous rooms. No water provided in the room. Hallways and rooms have dirty carpets, dirty sofa seats in rooms, dust on fridge and microwave. The guys on the front desk tried best, but they did not seem to have any choice. No value for money, would never recommend this. I just wonder, is this really a Holiday Inn?

Nothing too impressive. It wasn't bad but not great. The breakfast buffet should have been free in my opinion. I've stayed at several hotels with better buffets that were included. Disappointed to find the hot tub has been covered with plywood in the pool area... but the pool was warm and clean. Their website said kids eat free, and the person at the front desk had no idea what I was talking about when I asked, so we decided to eat elsewhere. Also I'm not sure if it was just because I booked at the last minute or it was because of the weekend we came, but the room was extremely over priced. I expected more for what I paid. Overall, it was OK but it could have been better.

Would give it five stars if when I brought my truck there, there was an open plug. Was 10 below, it almost didn't start. Great hotel, wonderful breakfast, will definitely stay again if I'm in town.

Brett the bartender was great! What a first class human. Rooms were comfy & clean and service good. Coffee at breakfast could have been more free flowing. Regulating portions by having a service staff distribute coffee seemed odd for a breakfast buffet. You couldn't really get back for a second cup. Also, all the protein was pork. Sausages, bacon & sausage gravy -- didn't allow people who don't eat pork, any meat choices. For a location which attracts all cultural backgrounds, making one of those choices turkey....would have been preferred. I wasn't alone in line hoping for a non pork option. Several families were in my boat that morning. Otherwise, the food selection was ok & service was good.

When I make my reservation I requested a couple of things I requested a suite I also requested early check-in which I got was no problem. But when I got to the hotel I found out that my room wasn't ready I was told when making the reservation that they had one already ready but it wasn't I was told I would have to wait an hour and the hotel which I was not happy about after coming from work and looking forward to my mini vacation I had booked a $300 suite and just wanted to rest so the idea of waiting in the hotel lobby for an hour or are they clean the room was not something I was looking forward to. I had to settle for a room with two beds that was available right away and it was cheaper.

Over a year of planning gone to waste. Tried to plan a wedding and the planner quit along with other staff. Only found out 3 months of no contract. Staff doesn't know how to refund or cancel and Roger Black the gm is mysterysly out of town. Unprofessional and not at at hospitable. What kind of hospitality based business doesn't care about their customers. Must be why they are next to a graveyard where all their guests waiting for answers end up.

We had a short stay there to go to Six flags this last weekend. My son left his laptop there and we did not realize until Tuesday. I called and spoke to Danielle. She not only found his laptop but helped out in getting it back to us. Danielle was very friendly on the phone and the fact she made makeshift packing to keep his laptop safe was top notch. We need more people like her. Danielle, if you read this, THANK YOU!

I enjoyed my stay here. Front desk and housekeeping are really friendly and will supply you with hygiene items when you need it. They use Dove for their hygiene 🧼 Only constructive feedback I would give is the breakfast should be free for all guest since there’s better breakfast for free at other Chain Hotels & that all rooms should have a fridge & microwave.

My room was updated to a suite because I was an IHG platinum member. The room was out-dated. The carpet smelled like dirty feet and needed cleaning! The beds were small but comfortable. The room was more than $213.74 for the first night and was too expensive for what was provided. There was no free breakfast. I had planned on staying four nights but canceled after my first night. I'm still waiting to hear from the manager...four days later.

Came up to visit my son at Naval Base. Our room was affordable, clean, ready on time, we didn’t have our room cleaned daily but if we needed anything (towels, shampoo, etc), they were given to us right away. I thought the place was very clean and in a good location. No free breakfast, but they don’t advertise one and room service was fine, but they have many good pancake houses and breakfast cafes around that the kuerig in the hotel room was plenty for a start to the day.

Upon arrival I was greeting warmly but. No mention of my Diamond Elite status. No big deal, although that is corporate policy. I was here on business and really just wanted a place close to work location. The decor is from the 70’s and smells like it’s from the days of cocktails and smoking. My room did not smell any better. But I am not one to make a big deal out of since I have been exhausted from the last leg of a two week business trip. Today when I went to get breakfast they informed me it would be $14 dollars. OMG! 😒😒 I’m only getting a small scoop of eggs and one pancake and a small cup of juice!! The pancake was old it was hard on part of it. The eggs are not real. This is the reason for my review. I check out and the desk clerks never thank me for my Diamond status and was not very friendly. I would suggest IHG send someone to review this property.

False advertising There is no hot tub which is shown in the pictures on the web site. Kids do not eat free like is stated on the website and the girl at the lobby counter acted like she had never heard of such a thing in her life and forget about a complimentary breakfast. The pancakes are from frozen and gross, biscuits and gravy are bland and inedible, bacon and eggs are ok but they charge 15$ for the breakfast. Rooms are extremely overpriced Positives: the breakfast lady is really nice. The pool is heated and big. The beds are comfortable.

Most their rooms do not have a refrigerator or microwave...yet we're paying the same as rooms that do. My son has special dietary needs & we have no way to keep his food cool. So now we have to go out & buy a cooler. Ridiculous. This is like staying in a motel. They should be able to accommodate children with special needs, but didn't even allow me to explain our situation...just told us most rooms don't & they can't move any etc.

Room was clean. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Minifridge and microwave sitting on the floor is weird! It was mostly quiet. Price point is very good for the area. Hotel needs a major update to the entire facility. Breakfast should be included at a hotel in this tier, not $15 a person.

I must say that this is one of the best hotel I have ever been to in years! I am from Memphis, TN and I have been in this hotel for two weeks on a business trip. When I tell you these lovely people here have token good care of us! I mean from the food to the rooms. The customer service here is just wonderful! I wish we had these type of service back home from hotels like this. I Thank you all so much for your service!

It's 2023. Double beds in large rooms?? No refrigerators in rooms? Super small TV's? I get that the place needs a complete renovation, but just addressing these three things would have made our stay a lot more tolerable.

Beds are small beds, refrigerator is on the floor along with the microwave causing guests to bend down, missing an electrical outlet bar by the TV set, TV set is way too small needs to be larger 50 inch to even view it from the beds. Comfortable rooms. Breakfast is buffet but costs $15. Great location to Mall and Six Flags. Also, missing a dresser drawer ni place to unpack and place clothes.

Brett the bartender was awesome. Service was excellent. Rooms clean and comfortable. Bed and pillows were perfect. Location for a business person very convenient. I am going to have our company guests stay here. A great value as well. Highly recommended

Horrible stay! When I first got there they couldn’t find my room. When they Finally found it. The room had a smell. I decided to take the kids to the pool. And The jacuzzi didn’t work. As you all know you are supposed to put a deposit down when checking into a hotel which I did of $91.68. After checking out the hotel I made sure to straighten the room up to the best of my ability. I then get a additional charge of 111.64 after checking out and never received my deposit back I called and asked why are they charging my card they said because the room “ wasn’t clean” there is no policy which stated the guest has to do room service as well. Even though the room actually was not dirty or anything even if so they will take the DEPOSIT which is used for smoking or damages in the room. Which had neither so they came up with a different excuse. They took my deposit and additional $111 because I didn’t do THEIR job. I will never recommend this place to anyone. So unprofessional!

This place is a 4.5 star in my book although I had a few issues when staying here for my 2 nights. First day we went out & got back and our cards stopped working for our unit door. Went down to the front desk and the lady fixed it immediately which was nice! Our unit had only a few towels for 2 days but they helped when I asked for more. Was disappointed the hotel didn’t have an operating hot tub which my lady was really excited to go to but could not. My favorite part was them helping us out with checkout time because we were out late the night before. They let us sleep in a bit longer before we had to leave. Overall would recommend if you needed to be out in gurnee & need a budget friendly hotel with a super kind staff!

I could not be more grateful to the staff of this hotel. Not only was the facility clean and well kept, but the staff, particularly Danielle (sp), the person I spoke with over the phone, was so incredibly helpful to me after I arrived home to discover if had left an entire backpack in the room, 9 hours from my home. She worked with me so graciously and I was able to get my bag back! Thank you you wonderful sweet angel!

As a regular traveller for work, I can't say enough good things about this hotel. Customer service is fantastic, having gone above and beyond to accommodate our ever evolving needs. When all other chains jacked up their rates post-pandemic this hotel offered an affordable rate I usually don't get from this chain, for which I am grateful.

Breakfast food was very disappointing. The pool space was enjoyable. Shower was weird with figuring out temperature. Noise easily heard from outside of room. Rooms aren’t as nice as they appear to be in pictures. Beds were comfortable though.

Great hotel, perfect location- around shops, restaurants (within walking distance) clean hotel, friendly service, they have a great breakfast, and restaurant right in the hotel. The room itself is just your basic room, but very nice. Thank you to the gentleman that drove the shuttle van for me, very pleasant and professional! I will definitely recommend!!
