The only good thing about this stay was the bed was comfortable. The room was not as described, the pool was freezing, the smell of marijuana was evident the minute we walked in and throughout the entire building, anyone can walk into any door absolutely no safety.

Facilities could use updates and a little tlc. The spa tub works great!

Great value and good coffee in the morning. Clean room, and the staff recovered my headphones!

I usually don't dive into the negative review scene, and I'm not out to harm anyone's business, but after my recent stay, I am compelled to give a heads up to my Navy buddies and their families planning trips for future graduations in the area. Sure, I knew I was walking into a budget hotel, and I cut them some slack on the room's wear and tear (including a mini-fridge with a sign advising against perishables—go figure) and overall cleanliness. However, having some of my personal stuff disappear was definitely not part of the plan. I booked a room at the Super 8 in Gurnee to attend my daughter's Navy boot camp graduation. While I got back from her gradation ceremony housekeeping had cleaned my room and shocked to discover that all my personal toiletries from home—my brush, shampoo, body wash, deodorant, and more—were nowhere to be found! When I approached the front desk, their response was a simple "I'm so sorry" with no explanation or other action whatsoever, leaving me without essential toiletries for the remainder of my trip. The incident not only inconvenienced me but also triggered concerns about the potential theft of my remaining belongings, adding an extra layer of worry to an already frustrating situation. As I geared up for the 18-hour journey home, the lack of action from the hotel staff left a sour taste. While the hotel served its basic purpose for the trip, this unfortunate incident significantly soured my overall experience. Regrettably, based on my experience, I would not recommend this hotel to others. Sharing this feedback with the hope that it sparks improvements for the future, ensuring other guests don't encounter similar issues.

Building pretty run down looking. Room was okay cleanliness wise but sucked for lighting. Staff not friendly at all. The smell of marijuana was over powering. Pool was covered with what looked like a trash bag. There's a Hampton Inn right behind it. Would have stayed there instead. Convenient as far as food options although not great choices.

We had a long drive from Wisconsin and We came tired from Six Flags as well and front desk helped me out for faster check-in gave me very clean room. Good simple breakfast in the morning with fresh coffee. Very good room with lowest price in town.

Best rooms with open swimming pool. Front desk people helps me out for whatever small things I need. Bedding is very clean with good coffee 24hrs. I would definitely suggest Jacuzzi rooms to feel relaxing.

What a dump! I wish I could give less than a single star! We spent almost a hundred dollars for a room that probably should have been $50 at tops. The toilet was broke, the carpet was frayed and looked like it was from the 70's in design. The dresser and drapes were from that same vintage. The bulbs in the hallway were flickering. The pool was broke. When we told the front desk, all they could say was we would have given you a different room. Not what we wanted to do at 2:00 am in the morning. This was by far the worst shape Super 8 we have ever stayed in. It will make us question the Super 8 brand moving forward!

Snobby, nosey staff. Clean rooms. Parking lot leaves something to be desired. When the room was cleaned it WAS CLEANED. Though I personally don't like my things being moved around to do so. No matter where they are. Foreign owned, like most hotels. Nice but didn't wow me for the price.

The rooms are bit worn but the staff was very friendly and ready to help you whenever you had a question or need. It was right next to the 6 flags theme park so there was no travel time which really nice. The pool is a bit small but adequate if you want to swim.

Overall, this is exactly what i expected and gladly willing to pay for to stay a night. Pros: -Clean -Fridge, microwave, & television -Spacious shower -Front desk service -Has working pool (saw people using it) Cons: -hot upon arrival -minor annoyance damages -parking is weird at first glance If you've been to a super 8 before then you know exactly what to expect here, a great bargain deal. (Or an upgraded motel 6)

Honestly there isn't much to complain about. I'm used to hotel rooms having two beds, and this one only had one. But for the price, and it being so close to six flags, you really couldn't get better than it.

Me and my brother stayed at this hotel and between both our rooms the only furniture that wasn't broken was the beds the pool had a corner that was moldy and there was a strong smell of weed in the hallway even though theres "no smoking" the customer service was bad the only semi good thing was the room was decently big but only stay here if it is your last option

You get what you pay for; it's a place to sleep and bathe. TV channels were adequate, wifi is hit and miss and the building is not secure. Carpeting is stained, ceiling fan won't stay on all night, 1 bedside lamp didn't work, ripped shower curtain, dusty exhaust fan. Bed and pillow was comfortable and it's close to six flags and toppers pizza.

I'm not sure if all locations do this or if it was just this one. Did not care for my card being charged before I am even at the location to check in. The only nice thing I have to say is the beds were nice.

I’m extremely upset that 20 minutes before check out time house keeping barges in my room without knocking while I’m standing there naked. Didn’t say sorry or excuse me just closed the door. I feel extremely violated and the front desk said “I’ll talk to them”.

This hotel was clean and the customer service was good too. They had everything I needed. Compared to another motel in this area, it was way better.

The room was dirty, first room the lights didn't work in the bathroom, the 2nd room the TV wasn't working correctly the bathroom tub wasn't clean and we found a pair of dirty socks in one of the chairs

Nice and quiet hotel. Clean room and very comfortable bed / pillows. Nice staff. I had a peaceful 2 night stay. I would stay again if I was in the area.

the worst hotel you can go to, customer service is horrible as well as discrimination. I should get a shipment and the shipping app says it arrived but they say no, and one of them received the order and signed it, but the order never appeared and they don't even want to check the cameras, in conclusion the worst hotel is (SUPER 8)

Not a very diabetes friendly breakfast. Strong smell of weed in the halls. Bed was comfortable but the pillows were super thin. Fridge in rooms though and cable TV.
