I've been going to gyms my whole life in various cities, and Dalplex is the worst gym I've ever been a member of. The renovations were completed for aesthetics and not functionality. All times of the day the gym is absolutely packed - the number of students at Dal clearly wasn't taken into consideration when building this gym. In addition to being chaotic, none of the weights are reracked properly and you're lucky if you get a bench during the whole time you're working out. Most times I go, I have to adjust my workout or change it completely due to the number of other people there and lack of space or equipment available. There's often not even open space to use free weights or stretch, and walking through the gym is a challenge because people just have to find whatever space they can to lift. Even when the studios are not in use, members are not allowed to use them for stretching or lifting. The machines are nice, but for some reason they chose to install 8 lat pull downs and 0 seated rows, as one example of the odd choices they made. They should have built a second floor instead of having high ceilings and an aesthetically nice gym.

Court is always squeaky clean. Best indoor basketball court in Halifax for sure

The gym equipment is quite good, Needs more attention in terms of cleaning.🧹🧹 The field house needs major maintenance. It is as hot and humid as a sauna in the summer 🥵 Overally, with its poor quality, I won't recommend it ( unless you are a student like me and they have charged you already and left you with no other choice😄)

The Dalplex is the best place for the people of all the generations, There are gym equipments which are no where else on this planet, "rotary torso". apart from good facilities, and everything, you will see the lively, happening environment all around the Dalplex, which will give you more energy than drinking a Red Bull. *You might get Wings too* Overall, best Gym and Best Ground Best Swimming Pool, Cheers !!

The weight room is insanely busy at all hours of the day. It is difficult to get on a piece of equipment, especially with students lingering on their phones for half an hour. I mostly end up using the cardio gear which was not the purpose of joining. A few days after I joined they raised the rates. Not cool. Could’ve told me.

Dalplex is a great athletic facility, you have facilities like a fitness hall, studio, pool, and even wall climbing and much more, working at Dalplex the weight room I can confidently say that we have a group of passionate and helpful staff with great coordinate assist people to the best of their ability. new equipment is always bought on demand based on what people love, they take customer feedback very seriously, and all equipment is dusted and sanitized every day. this place has a vibe of its own, loved it from day one and would highly recommend it its got everything one requires.

The new addition is lovely, however there needs to be some renovations to the older areas. A lot has been done in the last few years, but definitely more to be done. This is especially true with regards to updating the pool deck/change rooms, and the class/lab/office areas.

Dalplex recently received some fantastic upgrades to its general weight room and fitness hall. This included a few yoga studios and other workout studios. The field house is large with something for everyone. The pool however is out dated and could use some love. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Booking spots can be challenging at times however that's just the way things are. Will continue to go to Dalplex until HRM builds a better facility!!

My friend and I booked a badminton court 2 on Thursday October (13th). We booked it for Saturday October (15th) 12pm to 2pm. I was only told today by the staff at the counter in front that the court is booked for a volleyball tournament. I feel very confused about that, my friend and I had the proof of our respective bookings for badminton court 2. So, I spoke to your supervisor. She told me that "there is a last-minute tournament is held, and we are sorry about that". I feel dissatisfied that after talking with the supervisor I still does not get any solution to the problem or any compensation at all. My friend and I did not received any email or calls for the last minute cancellation of our booking. We drove all the way from Bedford to Dalplex and we basically wasted our gas money, our time and our effort and this is our first time using Dalplex service.

The new sign in experience took longer than my workout 😭 Edit: How do you spend millions on upgrades and still have the worst court lights in the country? +1 star the new showers were nice.

Updated polices leave those with punch cards unable to make court bookings. What a waste of money.

Got a membership but haven't been able to use it due to the intense bookings in the upstairs gym in the new year. I understand there are regulations, but my grievances is with the fact that there are several people who book but don't show up time and time again and the management has created a system to address this. What I find strange is that you can be punished for forgetting your ID but not for missing several gym appointments. There needs a way to address this because people are essentially wasting their money...

Great facilities but since they added new equipment it’s almost impossible to get a leg day in. Place has an outrageous amount of upper-body equipment and then like 6 lower body machines. Leg day usually consists of waiting in a queue of 5 people for 20 minutes to use a quad extension machine. Place has like a million ellipticals that are never in use yet offers the worst leg day experience ever. I blame dalplex for my twig legs—only allows for resistance training your upper body

Its a nice facility, with good equipment and usually not too busy. It has got a big pool and a huge badminton court which i love. The staff is friendly and answer the queries in a helpful manner. The overall environment is friendly.

The squash courts are alright. But they are in the basement, it's super hot down there 🥵🥵🥵🥵

Great fitness facilities but squash court very hot and stuffy, not well ventilated. Reception staff are not well trained esp when starting Dalpex membership.

Enjoyed a weekend watching university basketball in the Dome. They have great seating and a well stocked canteen.

Dalplex is one of the best gym with good infrastructure, modern facilities and state-of-the-art equipment. Not only that they have knowledgeable, supportive and friendly staff/personal trainers who are there to help and guide you along your fitness journey.

Dalplex is a clean and organized gym with friendly and helping staff and all new equipment in the weight room! The staff nicely greet at the front of the gym when you go up the stairs and are always happy to help with any questions or concerns regarding workouts, the equipment etc. There is always space at the cardio equipment and lots of variety for cardio. It is nice having a stretching area in the back as well. The new machines make my workouts efficient and make it so I can hit every muscle group without needing to use the free weights. Working at Dalplex has been super fun and always a positive experience.

Amazing facilities with friendly members and employees. I usually train 5 to 6 times a week, and every time I work out, Dalplex never fail to provide high quality experience during my training session. I guess am lucky to be a dal student just for this gym.

Dalplex offers a wide variety of recreational and sport activities. Sports like badminton, volleyball, basketball, etc requires appointment. Gym though doesn't require any appointment, but getting the desired equipment for workout can take time, depending on the time of the day. Excellent facility overall!

Having tried most the gyms in the downtown area, I believe the Dalplex is one of the best in terms of available facilities and overall aura. I love the windowed sides, gives a sense of openness and adds vibrancy. The programs they offer are also very comprehensive and well maintained, as I've heard from friends.

Dalplex is one of the clean, hygienic and well maintained fitness facilities in this area. Plenty of space, varieties of classes and equipments. Try cardio kickboxing and Zumba. They also have a good rack climbing court.

It’s good but not the best. Proper weight management is missing. Even though they have areas broken down so that the distance regarding the Covid is maintained, the weights are everywhere. Furthermore, some important machines are still closed.

Despite of paying good amount of membership fee . Dalplex failed to have experienced condescending with some of their front desk employees. There has been instances where misinformation has been delivered by the front desk employees and seems like they are not able to do simple task as to book the member for the requested time and slot. Policy of Dalplex needs to be updated well as it is not clear and easy to understand not only for the members but also for their employees.

Great gym! I feel like a high level athlete when I walk in. Full sized swimming pool and fully renovated workout facilities and studios, the Dalplex offers everything you could ever want in an indoor gym.
