A very pleasant lunch for 6-7 of us. All the meals were tasty and wholesome and served very efficiently and politely. The wait staff were very pleasant and good humoured to our rather raucous crowd! A pity it was not well attended that day to add the ambience but it was after all midweek mid month. Very pretty gardens and surrounds - well maintained and added to the exclusivity of the restaurant . A definite 5 stars - thanks very much.

Wow! Wow! Wow! The staff were so attentive I did not want for anything. With an atmosphere that complimented the food I could have stayed all day. I had calamari whilst my friend had prawns. Both were cooked to perfection with the perfect amount of spice. I was a little jealous of the platters on the table next door so I am thinking of having a party. Thank-you Fishmonger. We will be back soon.

Had a queen prawn @US$10 for a starter then grilled fish and chips; was my first time broadening the term seafood to include prawns and oysters. Okay I’m so Shona and to me seafood is restricted to usual fish such as mackerel, tuna, sardines etc but crabs and shrimps actually give me bumps. If you’re someone like me, I advise you to order the normal according to you tastebuds as well as eyes β€” I mean you can always try lobsters at home, get used, then maybe try them in public lol

I did not require a reservation on the last couple of occasions that I visited, but I know there are days when it can be very busy. We ordered roasted calamari, Prawn cocktail & muscles, as out starters, followed by seafood linguine and Prawn linguine, topped off with Melva pudding. The seafood was cooked perfectly.

Great ambience plus cheerful staff. They actually sing happy birthday song if you request it if you are having celebrations. Rhe whole bream takes 30mins to cook and they advise you on the menu. Their chicken and mushroom pasta is more of pasta with sauce and little bit of mushroom, could barely see the chicken. Otherwise lovely chicken salad.

Used to be way better in terms of service delivery, but now the standards have kind of dropped, I guess it's more to do with the current economic situation in Zimbabwe. Waiters now a bit aged and slow, and in turn a tad bit sloppy. Food is okay, although the salmon fillet we ordered came out dry due to overcooking. Other than that, I'm still in love with the place, the owner is a very nice host, kind and gentle man😊

Ok ok, one of my safe eating zones. This place has been consistent so far and you can afford to take your guests there without worrying too much about wether they will like the food. The menu is diverse and caters for different tastes. My fav starter is btwn their soup n halloumi cheese. Their sea food is perfect for the main and their cheese cake for dessert. The chocolate brownie was too sweet for my taste but the cheese cake is great if you do not have a sweet sweet tooth. So the next time you are hosting some hungry people and you have a good budget, try this place out. I have posted a pic of the cheesecake that i had nibbled on a bit…kkk. I ate it all afterwards. If I did not have a conscience i would have ordered another one for takeout.

I love Fishmonger’s!!!! Their fish cuisine is the very best in the city and I dare say, the country and for those who love sea food they have fresh and diverse stock as well! The service is very efficient even when they have large crowds. The parking is also good and well secured. I highly recommend the restaurant for fine dining and fresh food.

This was my second favorite restaurant for more than 20 years in Harare , I like it so much , but really disappointed by the poor service and quality of the food now , the whole beam is not same as before , the tart is cold inside, it is still cold after complaining and bring it again , kept in the fridge and warm up by microwave and it cost $3 for one tart ! That fishmonger has gone !

What a fabulous restaurant! From the mouth watering food to the beautiful atmosphere, the entire experience was perfect. I loved the Mozambique prawns, the prawn au grautain and my husband loved the beef pan and calamari. Everything was so fresh and flavorful! I cannot wait to go back and enjoy it again. Still dreaming of those prawns!!

This restaurant has a very minimalist approach to the decor. Cutlery on a white table cloth with the condiments in the centre. There is no background music which is great for conversation! We had a family dinner so a sample a little bit of everything. Beef, chicken, fish, prawns were all for the taking! The wait was about 30 minutes but well worth the wait! The meal was exquisite!!! Sadly, the giant prawns were semi raw so we couldn't finish but the medium prawns were done to perfection!!!!! Staff is polite and helpful and the owner regularly checked on how we were doing! Definitely a great night out!

Excellent - service was good, food tasty, food was hot. The new location has definitely added a new vibe, warm and inviting. A great place to enjoy a good meal.

Service was terrible. The starter was OK... Not worth the 1.5 hour wait though. but main is "still coming".... At the 2 hour mark now. We watched the table that arrived after us get all 3 courses and leave. We asked where our food is and got "sorry the kitchen is busy". Avoid coming here if you are used to normal restaurant service.

One of my favourite places to enjoy a meal with family and friends. Great ambience. Service always friendly and pleasing. Ive enjoyed a number of meals from their menu and todays was flavoursome, well presented. However, the seafood linguine is not up to the usual standard which we have come to expect. They had run out of the halloumi as a starter, which was disappointing. A number of us ordered the Seafood Linguine, all of us were disappointed, not with the flavour but rather the content. Pasta portions were sadly on the small side, the sauce consisted of more prawn heads than anything else...i think our prawns went to other diners who ordered them as a main course and the calamari was over cooked. Perhaps the Chef was off today? Consistency in Zimbabwean restaurants is something that one does not get to experience too often. Desserts were excellent, the malva pudding melted in your mouth with hot vanilla flavoured custard, delicious. I am looking forward to having my next meal at Fishmongers again, but im sticking to the prawn and calamari combo or the delicious perfectly cooked salmon.

The seafood was really fresh and the king prawns outer crust was really crunchy and the inside soft. The combination just made the food taste better. The mussels just melted in your mouth. The ambiance was really nice. We really enjoyed our diner.

Picturesque setting, in an otherwise comfortable and homely environment. The waiters go out of their way to make sure everything is okay. Some of the dishes are amazing but some the portions are just a little too small. If you are going to order wine make sure you buy a bottle. Otherwise overall I liked it very much.

The food was amazing, we took some more to eat at home. Their wine selection though was disappointing. And the wine glasses didn't live up to a good wine experience. The waiter mentioned that they only had 3 large bordeaux glasses, the rest were tulips. But I'd go there any day, I loved it

The food is really nice.. the prawns are always a hit. Restaurant is in a nice setting and the staff exceptionally friendly and welcoming!

  • 2/5 Jordan G. 2 years ago on Google
Well, at first I wondered why the place was empty when I pulled up into the parking lot. Figured it was a slow day, but my suspicions were confirmed when nobody came to welcome me by the door. The restaurant was empty, except for one table yet nobody cared that a customer was here. Wait staff aren't exactly the friendliest bunch but everyone has bad days. The food itself was not seasoned at all, salt was clearly a mystery to the chef because I ordered three different dishes and not a single grain of salt was present among my meal. The muscles were sandy and the batter on the fish was rubbery, not a good first impression. Really good atmosphere overall, I'd come back for the decor and ambiance, just not the food...

Had a great time with my family of 6 at Fishmonger. It’s always our go to for celebratory dinners / lunches. The food is always hot and consistent. Although, service can take quite a while. I’d recommend not going on an empty stomach. Some menu items I swear by are : Salmon Pasta, Beef Pan, Portuguese Pan and the Kingklip Fillet. We will continue to come here for lunches and special dinners !

Cosy and elegant....This place is like a hidden treasure. The staff is friendly and all guests are greeted as soon as they enter. The food is incredibly delicious but the portions are a little small. They are on the pricey side but their menu has a lot of variety for both food and drinks. I had a King (?) Prawn as a starter and the Fish and Chips for my main dish. The prawn was good, cooked just right, but I felt that just 1 wasn't enough πŸ˜‚ The fish and chips was also delicious, fish wasn't too oily, the outside was a nice crisp, and chips served were generous potato slices. Service was exceptional, our waiter was very attentive. Will definitely come back!

I was absolutely shocked at the prices at the fishmonger with prawns being sold at USD9 per queen prawn! Truly horrendous, we all know that prices in Zim have soared and inflation is at an all time high but that is simply excessive. 4 famous grouse, 1 chicken and chips, 1 starter portion of giblets and 1 steak USD71. Food definitely nowhere near the price. We won't be going back to the Fishmonger again!
