Important: This place is huge, the ticket is for 3 days because doing it all in 1 day is very hard. it contains many places that are very far away from one another so you drive from one place to the other by car. You can also do it on bicycle if you wish (I saw bicycles for rent including electric ones). If you are really brave you can do a lot of hiking here. Be very prepared to be protected against the sun - sunglasses, sunscreen, hat, long sleeve clothes and tons of water. This place is what you dream about when you think about a desert. You can easily forget you are in israel and imagine you are on mars or some other deserted planet of your liking. We went only to 2 points so we didn't actually see much but our breath was definitely taken away by this alien place. The photos don't really show it, you must come to feel and see.

Gorgeous desert nature and great family time. Don't forget to put comfortable walking shoes, to take with you some food, drinking water and sun protection. The fun in the park can take you almost the whole day - it has several stops for short walking, usually for half an hour, depending on how crowded the park, lake with pedals boats and another activities for kids. The park also has short film at the entrance, and a small museum. The park also has camping options. The views of desert hills are very beautiful, definitely must do when in Eilat.

This lovely national park is full of great activity, beautiful sight seeing. Magnificent nature park. Convenient roads take you to many attractions, there is a variety of hiking options - 30 minutes, 90, or few hours. Plenty trails at different length and difficulties, it gives a good variety selection. Huge natural reserve with lots of landmarks to see and explore, very informative guidence, direction signs all over the park really helping for orientation, alongside the map you get at the entrance.

Excellently organized park with numerous trails for hiking and biking but also accessible by car for those who just want to visit the main sites. Numerous mountains and hills perfect for climbing (though be aware of the signage, as some of the rocks are dangerous for climbers). The colored sand bottles that can be assembled at the end, near the oasis, are a fun souvenir. Expect to spend 2-3 hours here.

This is our second visit to timna. This time we stayed in the rotem camp station inside timna park. In the timna camping website , they didn't provide any information on the camp station. When we arrived there it was just the open space in the wooden shed without tents. The incharge at the camping site had the audacity to explain us "what is meant by camping tent"🤷‍♂️ despite the fact It was their mistake for not providing the description of the rotem camping station. The other types of tents were occupied (white colored tents with all the facilities including fridge, microwave, and air conditioner). So, we drove back to eilat to buy camping tents on shabbat. It was freezing in the night. We felt the cost is too much 85 nis/head/night, just for the open space🙄 Additionally, Cost of a bed is 15 nis. They had common toilet/bathroom facilities with hot water. If your tent is not nearby, then you have to walk like 3 -4 minutes to reach the toilet🙄. They had place for BBQ and we ordered for camping firewood for 40 nis. Apart from the stay, timna is always beautiful. We enjoyed most of the time by admiring the monumental structures. Night time was so much fun with our group enjoying the BBQ and the calmness. Definitely a worthwhile place to visit, a awesome location for ASTRO photographers because of sky being so clean. We had some good pictures.

It’s a breathtaking place, a must-have for hiking lovers. Plenty trails at different length and difficulties, it gives a good variety selection. A choice for bike rental is also a good addition if you would like to boost the experience.

The visit made sence, in a weird way. You think you have seen the mountains, and the park seems like a boring extend to the same mountains, but its not! Friendly people, visualization of the ancient story of the place, and much more makes it worth the visit. Much of the park is accessible by car, which makes it possible to visit, even on the hottest days. There is animals if you look in the shade of the lonely trees. I recommend it!☺️

A desert hiker's paradise! Amazing park! The hiking points are absolutely breathtaking. Advise: lots of water! Comfortable hiking wear and lots of sunscreen and hats! WC points are also limited so best to prepare! Easiest hiking trail points are about one and half hour to two hours. We spent the whole day at Timna Park. Won't advise you to go there if you are in a hurry.

Our second time here, and still plenty to see and do. Huge, majestic rock formations. Ancient temple, and rock engraving. Bicycle trails, and rock climbing. The park is a huge desert valley, you can drive your car between the different locations. Highly recommended.

Be careful there is no water at the basin sightseeing point. You can fill thermos only at the start and at the lake. That said it a nice park, avoid the hottest hours

Just 25 minutes from Eilat. A must visit if you like history and sports in one of the most beautiful deserts in the world. You can drive your car in a loop or do sports:hike, rock climbing, mountain bike (the park rents bicycles too). You can stay the night. In rooms or do camping.

Our time in Timna was exceptional! The park is organized, with marked tracks, a ranger on the premesis to help with suggestions, a camping area with electricity, cold water on tap, clean restrooms and showers with hot waters and a coffee shop that's open from 8 until 16. There's a lot to do, and a lot to see! We spent 2 days there and didn't get to do everything! Will definitely come back!

Timna holds some of the most breath taking spots in the Arava region, the strength of the desert vastness is in full power there. We enjoyed the historical landmarks, that date back to the 14th century BC with Egyptians copper mines and wall drawings. All spots are connected with roads, so that even though it was 40°C we could enjoy the area from the comfort of our car's A/C and take short walks to visit the attractions. If you are in Eilat, it's worth the 30 min drive there, but it's probably best to go early in the morning, as there's hikes and bikes to rent we gave up due to the heat.

Timna Park is a spacious park. It was famous mainly for the "Pillars of Solomon" (Amudey shlomo) and the copper ores that existed in the place and were quarried in ancient times. The place has guided tours and the park is crossed by roads leading between the various attractions and elements. In the center of the park there is an artificial lake where you can go in and swim. There is also an overnight parking area where you can open a tent, place a caravan (RV) or rent a cabin. There are shared showers and toilets and the place is lit at night. The park hosts various events as well as lantern tours with illuminated exhibits. An experience for the whole family. The park is located about 25 km north of Eilat. It is worth stopping.

Huge natural reserve with lots of landmarks to see and explore, very informative guidence, direction signs all over the park really helping for orientation, alongside the map you get at the entrance. The road is mainly tarmac but some of it is dirt, you can drive with normal vehicle just be cautious cause it's a bit bumpy at times, bring a lot of water

Beautiful place. Organized as a park where you can access any landmark by your own vehicle. You can visit it regardless to the weather, even at noon at hot summer day. Take in mind that your ticket is valid for 3 days, not for one entrance. It means that it worth to get the ticket on the road to Eilat and then visit the park next days.

Timna Park is located about 25 km (about 17 miles) north of Eilat in Israel’s Negev Desert. One of the largest attractions in the south of Israel the park sits in a beautifully majestic desert setting. It has amazing history and geology. There are many accommodation options like air-conditioned tents, guest rooms and air-conditioned caravans.

Natural preserve with many rock monuments. In the past this area was used for copper mining and it is said it was an oldest metal mining and working site in the world. If you visit driving a car, count at least with 3-4 hours to briefly check all the places.

  • 5/5 Flaviu R. 4 years ago on Google
I will start with some advice: visit the park with a car if you want to see everything in one day or else either you will have soar feet or you will see only one two things; even if you take a car you will have a fair share of hiking; wear adequate hiking shoes; have some water with you (at least one liter per person). The site is beautiful and spread on vaste land. There are hiking trails suitable for all levels including for professional climbers :) At the visitor centre from the Oasis you can find free drinking water, free WiFi, toilets, and you can buy some food. The price was 490 shekels per person. Don't forget to make your own colored sand layers bottle as a souvenir. Ask for a bottle and fill it up with colourful sand :)

They make a lot of noise and miss the desert silence so special.
