I have been in Greensboro one week for work. I went to this location of American Deli - along with a friend who was going to be trying it for the first time after I told him how much I like the wings - Sunday, April 2 at 4:15pm. When I walked in, a lady working the register immediately said, “We’re closed.” No hello or explanation given whatsoever. I told her the website said they close at 10pm, because I checked before going. She said they were closing so they could take a break. There were about 6 employees present behind the counter at that time. I asked if they all were going on break at the same time, and she replied, “yes.” Then I asked how long they were going to be closed. She said, “about an hour.” I asked if they could take our order quickly, and she, again, replied, “no.” Again, no apology for the inconvenience or anything. I told her I’d NEVER heard of such a thing. Mind you, there were about 5 customers in the store at the time of this exchange. I’m assuming they were waiting for their food to get done, but who knows. This was very unprofessional and unacceptable. What sensible person closes an entire restaurant for one hour in the middle of the day? Moreover, why would you close like that without having a sign or something on your website informing potential customers about that practice - however foolish it may be? I give the lowest possible recommendation. And from some of the other comments I’ve read, this seems to be par for the course at this establishment. And to be more specific, the cashier was the Black woman with the locs. It would behoove you to get someone else to work the register; perhaps she should be in the back cooking where she does not interact with customers. Then again, this is a restaurant that does not have any instructions or links on their website for customers wanting to leave feedback, so it tracks that the business is poorly run. I won’t patronize places that don’t value my hard-earned money.

The manager needs to make more of a presence within the store, the employees feel like they can serve and close whenever they feel, like it's their store. How are your hours stated that you are open until 10 but when you walk in at 845 they tell you they are closing the kitchen down? Good food, poor service..I guarantee if the owner knew the employees were doing this and losing out on an hour and a half worth of business, they would all be looking for new jobs. Lastly, what is the point of them having a registered phone number when you always get the busy signal? The few times I actually get a ring, they never answer. I have never gotten an answer and I call every time I go just to see if something changes..Need to do better

I only like two ppl in that store... The big fat old n the face has to be the worse... She act like she/he don't want to work... The food is always nasty when she works. If I walk in and she shebreast I turn around.. The two I like is the only time I come in!!!! American Deli pls let the big girl go she's bad for business....

The big lady with the dreds is horrible I am a visitor from out of town and she was entirely rude and disrespectful and for a moment I felt very much verbally assaulted. And it ruined the whole experience. American Deli isn’t known for the best customer service but this was the worst Shxt I’ve ever saw in my life. Her attitude was just horrible didn’t even ask to take my order… Idk if she thought she knew me but y’all need to train her or get a new dyke to do the job. She even spit in my drink… I don’t know this dude.

Food is good but what sucks is that they don't answer their phone for any reason. So in order to get food you have to drive all the way there and then wait..they would get so much business if you could place orders to go.

I really wanted to like this place. This was my first time eating there. I got hot wings and fries my husband got a cheese steak, may have been chicken instead of steak, anyway everything we ordered was way to salty, maybe we ordered the wrong thing. The traffic through there was steady so I would give it another try. Definitely order something different. Can't knock the hustle.

My steak and cheese sucked!! The steak was different from last time. No seasoning on my fries. The girl that was ringing people up had poor customer service skills.

I walked in and wasn’t greeted at all!! Stood at the register while someone cleaned looking over me for at least 10 minutes! Smh, i left without getting to order anything!

Did not order! The young lady up front ignored my husband when he tried to ask her a question. She did not acknowledge us at all, not a positive attitude at all. We just left the place.

😨There are more then 1 American delis in Greensboro, lord knows you should not go to the deli on sumit ...when i walked in the lady said can i take your order so i asked can i have a water ,she said we dont have that so i asked can i have some fish ,we ran out of fish , my 3rd quiestion was well do you have any flats she said we are not doing that over here 😳...smh

Food is gross service is slow DO NOT recommend this location Stay way if you don't want to get sick!

The food here is always yummy! The employees are friendly and they have a really great atmosphere! I make sure to bring my family every time they come to visit! We love it 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Food is decent if they have the ingredients to make it. They haven't had fountain drinks in over a month. The floors are either sticky or soaking wet. Not to mention they don't have condiments for anything. Do yourself the favor and go someplace else .

Heavy set worker with locs has a nasty attitude unprovoked no greeting unresponsive to question just nasty smh

I never go to this location anymore because they’re too slow, their customer service is very lackluster and they close when they want to. The food is great though whenever it comes lol. I just left this location at 8:33 PM thinking that maybe this would be a better time to go and they told me that they weren’t taking any more orders… There were only 2 other customers in there(1 who had already ordered), atleast 5 workers in the back and their hours on google say they close at 10… like come on now. Trash

Too much wrong with my experience to list it all. I've already spent too much time and money on this place. If you decide to go, good luck. But hurry... I predict they'll be out of business in a year or less.

I decided to try here to see what the hype was about....nasty. I ordered the 10 wing comb which included fries and a drink. The wings I requested was plain but extra crispy...no seasoning on the at all. When ordering from other places even if they are plain they are seasoned. 2 weren't thoroughly cooked b/c you could pull the skin and it was still rubbery. The spite was flat. The fries were nasty also. I didn't get any ketchup or anything with it. I requested ranch with my wings. They give you 1 little dipping sauce. If I got 10 wings they could've at least did 2. I also ordered Philly steak which wasn't too bad just salty. Overall I will not ordered here again. Not good. You would think being in the hood it would be good ..meh. They did include napkins and a straw so that counts for something but food... its a hard no for me

Disgusting undone food, terrible customer service, rude managers. Health department should shut them down. This is the worst location in the city. The workers don’t even dress for the part they come in there looking how ever. Food and customer service is just as sloppy as their uniforms. Stop eating here they don’t deserve anyones money.

Store closes at 9 but for some reason they say they close early every night. Rude staff and liars.

Good food, but it took long time for food to come out...

It was my first time going there, got the garlic Parmesan wings and they were horrible. I had explained that it was my first time going there and didn’t know the flavor was gonna be sweet. They absolutely were not willing to take the extra step to allow me to choose another flavor and remake it. Very poor customer service. Never had sweet garlic Parmesan wings, they really need to improve that recipe.

This was my first visit here. There was no greeting from anyone in this establishment especially the cashier. She just stood with her body turned to the side. I would have left, but my significant other was paying. Nevertheless, I ordered wings. I did not know that fries came with it. I asked for blue cheese dressing and was given ranch dressing. The fries were bland even with the seasoning on the counter. The chicken was ok. There were not a lot of places or tables to sit down and eat. The bathroom was out of order. Let me mention one more thing about the customer service and that is the cashier greeted other customers and asked them about their sauces for their order. Why didn't she do this for us? I had to ask for my dressing which I was given the wrong one. Our food was in the bag even though we ate in. Not a good experience at all!

Ordered a Philly cheesesteak with fries and a drink. Got a cheeseburger with fries that were extra hard. Only thing right about the order was the drink. Never again.

The PCS and wing combo is good. The wings were pretty hot for medium (which I ordered). People at the front wore masks. Order came out quickly.
