The floor of the ancient mansion looks perfect despite all this colossal time it was buried under the ground. Just imagine this owner that was enjoying this view from the second floor. Mosaic includes not only birds, but it's also a pretty lovely zoo over there. The place is located in the forest zone. It's pleasant to walk and breathe the pine air.

An important archaeological site from 500 AD. The special thing about it is that it is outside the walls of the old city of Caesarea. The floor is particularly large and depicts a variety of waterfowl. Despite the other recommendations, it is not recommended to step on the mosaic, it destroys it, leave some of this beauty for the travelers who will come after you. Around the site is a shady grove suitable for a trip with children. From the middle of February to the end of March you can see in the surrounding grove a lot of flowering of cyclamen and milk thistle. Entry is free and free of charge. The nearest parking bay has room for only 4 private cars, which is a shame. The floor needs to be sanded, currently the floor is exposed to the sun and rain and has suffered a lot of damage. Update Fall 2023. The place has been recently renovated, broken outdoor furniture removed and replaced with new benches and taps. I still have a ceiling above the mosaic.

An unusual and quite unique mosaic, easy to include in a trip to Caesaerea as it is on the way and very close to the aqueduct beach. Pity there are no efforts to protect this historical piece of art from the ravages of weather and visitors

It's nice to come up here and imagine the rich guy who lived here looking towards the sea. He had an amazing view! Unbelievable that all the mosaics stayed here during the years. I could stay here for hours to watch them. We didn't know where we can park the car so just left it on the side of the road. Some sign of how to park properly would help.

Fascinating open-air mosaic from roman times. Free entry may explain why so few people come. Attention to detail in the mosaic is great. Make sure you stop on your way to the dig!

Beautiful mosaic floor. About 15 m^2. Opened to the public in 2002. No admission. Quiz: estimate how many stones in total were used for the mosaic?
