I don't dive with second rate operations, period. I vet, read reviews, weigh pricing, communicate with each, all of it. I've done the due diligence for you; you've found your dive shop. Irma is extremely flexible, understanding, and responsive. Your faith is well-placed. The instruction was challenging and helped me grow my skills as a diver while maintaining firm bounds of safety and an eye to fun.

What an absolutely incredible dive shop! I chose Reef Gliders for my PADI open-water certification; the entire experience was fantastic. The quality of the instructors is top-notch, and they made me feel comfortable the entire time. The shop's location is just perfect as well, right on the water and located next to a great bar and restaurant (The Blue Marlin), which is also owned by the dive shop. I can't recommend Reef Gliders more and will definitely be returning soon for more dives!

Great dive shop. All of the staff is fantastic. Jana was our dive master and was very helpful and detail oriented. Very safe operation. The dive boats have tons of shade and are very fast - making for a great day on the water. The shop has a nice location right on the water and the food at their restaurant is inexpensive and yummy. They even picked us up from the dock of our VRBO which was clutch.

Had a great time diving at Reef Gliders! Most every other shop on Roatan makes you pay to rent gear for each individual dive, but here it's a one time $15 fee. The staff are really kind and helpful. They have 2 different boats so they can take multiple groups at a time. Hot shower outside to warm up after each dive. They have locker bins, but when the shop is full they fill up fast. I enjoyed my dives with Lana the most, she was real fun and always looked out for the cool animals! Was nice to see one of the wrecks!

Welcoming staff, professional service and excellent diving experiences. They answer fast on WhatsApp, make you feel safe and do everything they can to make you have a great dive! Great value, the absolute best dive shop we experienced on Utila and Roatan.

We had a fantastic experience at Reef Gliders doing the PADI Open Water course! Everyone from the office staff, instructors, boat captain, and Blue Marlin staff were very friendly and the dive operation is professional and very well run. Everything you could ask for in a dive shop and more! Will certainly be back soon for more diving!! Update Oct. 2023….another great week diving at Reef Gliders!! Diving with Reef Gliders is always a great experience and this trip was no different. Despite the rainy and windy conditions the Reef Gliders team took great care of us, organizing transportation and a changing area/bar/restaurant space for us on the calmer south side of the island and bringing their boat around to meet us for the two days we dove that side. Above and beyond!! Our dives from the west end shop were also fabulous as always!!! The best dive shop and people on the island! Will be back soon!!!

Always a phenomenal experience at Reef Gliders! I have done numerous PADI certifications through this shop (Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, nitrox) and it is top notch every time. The staff are incredible knowledgeable and experienced. 10/10 recommend whether you are a new or experienced diver!

This was my second trip to Reef Gliders in West End, Roatan because it's simply the perfect dive shop. Professional staff, well-kept equipment, a waterfront location, and an excellent in-house bar/restaurant just steps from the ocean... What else could you want? This isn't just a dive shop, it's a place to hang out, and that's not something you'll find at other dive shops in town. If you're considering a trip to Roatan for diving, Reef Gliders is the way to go.

Can’t rave enough about how great this dive shop is! Irma and the team are incredibly welcoming and turned a week of torrential downpours into what seemed like a personalized dive trip each day by not only booking transportation to a side of the island with better visibility and diving due to the rain, but even coordinated the meals to go with it within less than a day’s notice. The team is highly professional and knowledgeable yet sociable to quickly incorporate you into a friendship and make the experience more than just about the diving itself. An added plus - the dive shop is connected to the Blue Marlin, a bar to grab some quick bites between dives or a couple of barena’s to celebrate the dives of the day.

We walked in as first time divers, and Barbara got an instructor to come out for us. Bryce was our master diver, and after training us on how to use the scuba gear and how to dive safely, took us out to the reef. It was absolutely incredible. Highly recommend this business if you want to experience scuba. They were experienced, helpful, excellent, and personable. Thank you for this breathtaking experience!

Dove with Reef Gliders for a week (15 dives) and even got an AOW. The people we worked with, the dive sites and professionalism were all top tier and one of my favorite dive companies I have worked with. The dives never got boring and I don't think we repeated a dive site once the whole week. Our group liked swim throughs, other divers on the boat where not a fan so the boat was split into groups based on what people wanted to see/do. In between dives we stayed on the dock/restaurant which was a nice change of pace for surface intervals. Most dive sites were somewhere between 3-5 minutes with the furthest might have been 10 minutes away. All the instructors (Jared, Jana, Jim) were a ton of fun and were joking around with us the whole time. On top of that safety was always a top priory. Dive profiles, sites, and skill level seemed to be all top of mind for the instructors.

We went to Roatan to do our AOW course without having decided where to do it. I'm glad we found Reef Gliders, we couldn't have chosen something better. They're super clean and organized. Nico, our instructor is so patient and gave us the best advices with all of his experience. And everyone there made us feel like we were at home. If I come back I would choose this place again!

Top shelf all the way! My sun and I just returned from a 7 day dive trip to Roatan. Barb and her crew were recommended by a friend and I must say the experience was AMAZING!! We are new divers and this was our first real dive experience after being certified last year. We purchased a 10 dive package and to say the least I was nervous about what to expect. From the minute we stepped into the dive shop everyone was attentive and very thorough, and made sure that our experience was going to meet our expectations. My 13 year old and I ALWAYS had our own dive master (mostly Nicco or Ryan). We always had Barry or Roger for our boat Captains, both are also certified dive masters. It was a huge benefit diving with the same DM's as they knew the skills that we could work on each dive and both my son and I improved our skills with every dive. Our briefings were detailed and catered to us. Barb and her crew were flexible and accommodating with our dive times. As our confidence level increased so did desire to dive more. We ended up logging 13 dives each, including a night dive (this is a must). I don't know that we would have received the level of attention and service if we chose to dive with one of the bigger shops. We made some new friends and will always dive with Reef Gliders whenever in Roatan! Thanks Barb and Crew! We will see you next year. Nathan and Griffin Brown

Dove here one day in January 2020, and had a really enjoyable time. It's pretty full-service, they set up your gear and tanks for you for the one-tank boat trips out to the nearby reef. Most sites are within 10-15 minutes travel and look beautifully healthy, with interesting topography. They'll do night dives if you've got three or more divers (we jumped onto one at the last minute that was already scheduled, so it was nice and easy). One thing to note when you're buying the marine park pass, especially if like us, you already have plans to dive with other shops on later days - they sell the $3 single-day pass for the marine park, but not all shops also do that, so if you get the day pass here, you may still end up needing to buy the $10 yearly pass the next day at the other shop you're diving with. Oops. But unless you're in a weird situation like us, you're probably diving on the island enough days to just buy the yearly one.

One of the best dive shops in Roatan The Crowd: Three adults in their 40’s and 1 young teen. The Scene: Dive center right on the beach. The owners, John and Barbara Montgomery, make sure that everyone is well taken care of. Their prices are very competitive and their staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. They take their job very seriously so their customers are in very good hands. My wife finished her Open Water certification there and my son (13) and I finished our Advance Open Water certification there as well. They offer three dives every day (9am, 11:30am, 2:30pm), plus night dives on certain days. The Good: The owners and their staff, the size of their dive groups, the convenient location, the short boat ride to many, many amazing dive sites. The Bad: Nothing that we could identify. The Decision: If you want to be well taken care of, head over to the Reef Gliders Dive Center and talk to John or Barbara. You won't be disappointed.
