If you are thinking about learning to SCUBA dive, you will not find a better, more fun, more inspirational experience than learning from the folks at Clearwater. I am an experienced diver, and I took my son and his girlfriend to Roatan to get their open water certification. I took the class along with them as a review. Aside from how great all the people are that work at Clearwater, consider these things:  We were able to do most of our classroom work online before we arrived, so the very first day, after some shallow water instruction, we were diving on a coral reef. The boat ride to the dive sites is very short - you will appreciate this more after you have been diving in some places where you spend hours commuting to the dive sites, but from the dock at Clearwater, spectacular dive sites are barely ten minutes away. We were able to get in two dives by lunchtime every day. The sea is calm. For a beginner, getting back onto a boat that is bobbing in a rough sea while wearing all that heavy gear is daunting - around Roatan it is easy. The water temperature is perfect, the visibility is great, and there are things you will see that exist nowhere else in the world. My two teenagers had their open water certification after four days, and we continued to make two dives a day for a week, to different sites each time. It was not especially apparent to me online when I was planning this trip was what a unique and wonderful business Clearwater is. Located halfway between West End and West Bay, it is a comfortable distance from all the commercial (tourist) activity, and has a relaxed but very professional atmosphere. You can't find a better place.

Absolutely awesome experience. Our group of 6 finished our open water dives and then we added 4 more consecutive days of diving. We did a bunch of research before selecting them and glad we did, they max out at 6 divers per instructor (and 3 of the days we had one instructor for 3 people). Intimate and customized experience. Other dive boats we would see were loaded with 20+ people. Super attentive caring and awesome group. Shout out to Rags, Merry, Sebas and Tomas who are super pros. And the boat captains Wilmer and Nando, they are true captains (not just boat drivers like in other places). This is the place you should consider when diving in Roatán, and the only place we’ll be using in the future.

Clearwater Adventures is the best! If you value a personable experience then you will want to dive with Denise and her team. They really are the best:) Our 10 year olds were able to get open water certified with Yvonne who is an amazing teacher. My husband who didn’t think he would enjoy diving got certified as well. My daughter was actually afraid of the idea of diving. Now because of Clearwater we can enjoy future diving adventures as a family!! That’s how awesome they are! We can’t wait to go back and dive with Clearwater! We also went on the cultural excursion with Denise and highly recommend this as way to experience local island life:)

I had a great time diving with Clearwater for a week, including getting my open water certification. They made me feel very safe, and prepared! And the diving was great. All their dive masters were professional, safe, and friendly. And that includes the whole staff (boat captains, office folks, and staff). I did my first night dive and felt totally safe in Denzel's hands. Thanks for the great week!

My husband and I had the pleasure of meeting some incredible people at Clearwater Adventures. Denise and her crew are top notch. After our cruise ship canceled our dives last minute, Denise was on top of planning our dives. They are truly amazing. You feel like part of the family. Our dive guide Denzel made us feel completely comfortable. We are planning to visit again and stay longer so we can experience more of the beautiful area.

My wife and I dove with Clearwater over the second and third week of November 2022. I would recommend them highly. Clean and solid gear. We rented BCDs, weights, tanks, and regs. I was very pleased with the condition of all of the gear. The boat was clean and organized. Same with the dive shop. Neat and clean. Our rental gear was always on the boat setup and ready to go. Dive briefings are given at each dive site. The staff are wonderful. They really make sure you are safe and have a good time. They learn your name and preferences quickly. I would recommend with Denise and her crew at Clearwater anytime.

Conveniently located between west End and West Bay, Clearwater Adventures was absolutely awesome!! Instructor and manager, Denisse was very personable, friendly, charming, and is so proud of her staff! Manager Mie was also very friendly and professional. We did a tag along ($10 each)with dive instructor Merry. Merry was funny and friendly and we had a great time! We then took the Cultural Island Tour and lunch with Denzel. Our group consisted of ten people. We had two snorkel stops and then visited the village where Denzel grew up. This was one of the highlights of our trip! Growing up in the fishing village of Crawfish Rock in Roatan, Denzel is a true success story! Denzel was delightful, very knowledgeable, and very likable. He shared his journey of growing up on the island and working hard to fulfill his dreams. He truly was an amazing guide. When we arrived for lunch at his village, it was so heartwarming to hear the little children calling his name. We brought small gifts and cookies for the children and really enjoyed our time at the village. We met Denzel’s grandfather who was holding and babysitting his infant granddaughter. We had a lovely lunch in a Honduran home. The lunch consisted of barbecue chicken, fried fish, rice and beans, Cole slaw, and key lime pie. We would certainly use Clearwater Adventures in the future. Merry our dive master totally slayed and we had a blast rocking multiple dives with her and the Clearwater Crew, what up Nando! She was great at pointing out both macro and micro stuff for us once we showed interest in the big and small stuff. Fair pricing, easy rental of the gear we needed, and flexible scheduling when we wanted to add in a night dive last minute. (Def recommend a night dive if you're ready for it!!) I can't wait to go back to Roatan and dive with the crew again!! Thanks Denisse!

We have been diving with Clearwater Adventures since 2016. Always friendly, helpful, and patient with new divers. They are awesome teachers and truly love what they do. We went back to get our advanced open water certification with this dive shop. The water is always calm and clear. The dive sites are no more than 5-15 minutes away from their dive shop. Diving with Clearwater is always fun and easy. Denisse, Merry, Denzel, Wilmer, Mie are all so wonderful. They also give back to the local community through their cultural excursions.

Finally back to Roatan after Covid. We couldn't wait to Dive with Clearwater Adventures again. Their quality gear, preparedness and purpose built Dive boats make diving super comfortable and fun; for the novice or even an experienced Dive Master. The sea mounts were amazing. Your professional and personable staff made ever Dive super fun and easy. Thank you to Alex, Densell, Issy, Willmar, Mary and of course Denise for another fantastic week of great diving. Wish I could give them more stars.

Best diving experience ever ! Clearwater Adventures has been a blast for me and my kids who got certified with them during our Roatan Xmas break. Everybody from Denisse to Alex, Denzel Yvonne and Junior has been very nice and treated us like family since day one, making the diving experience very enjoyable. The entire crew is extremely professional and the diving equipment is top notch and on top of that the dice spots are incredible ! If you are either considering scuba diving or you are a seasoned diver you have to check this place !

Clearwater Adventures set up so many wonderful activities for our family trip to Roatan. We had a mix of scuba divers and snorkelers, and they planned out each experience with such care. We also all did the Cultural Tour which was awesome. Can't recommend them enough, the Clearwater team is the best!!

You’ll notice there’s A LOT of 5 star reviews… there’s good reason for that. The Owners, Captains, and Dive Masters are incredibly kind and welcoming. If you’ve never dove before this is a great place to learn. If you’re a casual diver or a Master Diver they have all types of dives available. Ask about a night dive, shark dive or adive off the regularly navigated channel and they can most likely make it work! I can’t recommend this shop enough. Thank you so much for the experience! We will be back.

Many reviewers have expressed a desire to give Clearwater Adventures more than five stars, and I agree with all of them. After an unsuccessful attempt at certification three years ago (with another outfit), I decided to try again this year. This time, my children, ages 12 and 14, joined me. Denisse was attentive, patient, knowledgeable, and kind with all of us, and we are all now open-water certified! If you are looking for the best diving experiences, look no further. I know that, on our next Roatán adventure, there’s no way we would go anywhere else for our diving needs. Many thanks to Denisse and the rest of the crew!

We just returned from our pre-Christmas trip to Roatan. The diving, snorkeling and cultural tour with Clearwater Adventures were the highlights of our trip! Denisse, Mia, Merry, Denzel and Nico were amazing to work with and were all very knowledgeable. Our adult daughters upgraded their certification to Open Water Divers and we were able to dive with them on 5 dives including a night dive. We also would highly recommend the Cultural Tour that including some really great snorkeling sights as well as a very memorable tour and lunch in the island village where Denzel, our dive master, grew up. The entire staff treated us like family and we hope to return soon to enjoy more diving on this beautiful island!!

Roatan has so many dive shops to choose from, but we're glad we choose Clearwater. The shop was patient, accurate, and quick in their communications. The equipment and boats were in great shape. The dive masters were friendly and engaging, and made sure the dives were comfortable for our abilities. We especially liked their location, on a calm, laid-back beach away from the chaos and hubbub of West Bay and West End. It made them a bit harder to get to but, after diving, we'd set up a hammock and hang out for the afternoon.

Couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Our group finished our open water cert and then did several days of driving after. Everything felt very customized and intimate. Small groups with instructors and no over crowded boats. S/o Sebas, Merry, Rags, and Tomas! Will 100% come back!
