To reach this place you need to leave your car down in the valley, close to the bridge and restaurant and then walk for about 45 minutes. The hike is pretty easy and at the end you will reach the citadel located on the top of the hill. The view is nice but not stunning. You will be greated be the remains of the stone buildings of citadel. Not many of them, but still smething interesting. It would be great to add some information boards, s tourists could read about this place. That is why before visiting i recommed you to go to museum in Deva, where you can acquire some knowledge first.

I think only few people know the old Dacian culture. Perhaps even fewer know that this over 2000 years old culture and the state left some fantastic artifacts in what is now Romania. This one of those.

There isn't an awful lot to see when you arrive but it's a nice atmosphere and a lovely walk to get there. Worth taking a picnic on a sunny day.

If you like zelda "breath of the wild", this is the place for you !! It's like hyrule field in real life 😱 (luckily without guardians 🥳) I was looking left and right for koroks but could not find any 😓 The way up was quite steep in same places and therefore i wish that on the way back i could have had a paraglider 🫨 More seriously, the place is really nice and worth visiting. Ages of history ... and accidentally, we met a few archaeologists who were there who gave us insider information about this place :)

Bit of a hard walk up a steep hill. Its through a realy nice forest. Worth it. At the top clear stone walls and some remnants of a tower. Make sure to check out the Cistern jympong over the wooden fence by the large wall.

Review is for the forest you must walk through, to teach Blidaru fortress. It's very nice (make sure you let it as it is) and also akward and old. If you're paying attention, you'll see a tree with a strange form, a wolf head, which reminds you of Dacic flag (Draco). Not much about the fortress itself. When you reach the place you can rest sitting on some chairs and wood tables.

An amazing place full of history being built high in the mountains, very rewarding if you get to it because there's quite an hike for about an hour

Really liked this UNESCO site! Info is sparse, but the history of Romania before the Romans is here :) It is beautiful, mysterious and not super popular so you have it for yourself basically. You need to really like old stones and world heritage sites though. Do not visit the capital before coming here or the disappointment will also be capital. But the nature around the place and the walk are nice, it takes a bit less than an hour, uphill, through the forest

The largest and best preserved fortress of all, in the area. It is well worth the 1h hike up to it!
