Its a little off beat but it was a lovely building. It was closed when i visited, but the statues in the courtyard still looked grand. The bell in one of the towers looked like it was missing. A coat of paint would be great.

The architecture of the church is one of the best in Hyderabad. I visited the church on Easter. Being one of the oldest churches, it was built very majestically. The outlook of the church sure makes us feels like visiting it. It was so peaceful here and inside the church. It's also very spacious. Around the church also it was very beautifully built, you can offer prayers inside the church. It felt very peaceful and was quiet around the surroundings. The church being old also maintained well. The outlook of the church feels very artistic. There is also a lot of space for parking. The church also has a lot of open space for prayers and feels very authentic inside the church. A must visit church in Hyderabad that has been built elegantly.

St Joseph's Cathedral is a Roman Catholic Cathedral in Hyderabad, India. It is the cathedral of the Archdiocese of Hyderabad and one of the most beautiful churches of Hyderabad and Secunderabad cities of Telangana, India Established in 1820 AD, the construction of the present structure began in 1869 when Fr. Antonio Tagliabue of the Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions (PIME),[4] bought an extensive plot of land near Chaderghat, in what is now called Gunfoundry (so named for the ammunition centre built there by the Nizam of Hyderabad), to build a school, a church and a convent. Msgr. Pietro Caprotti (Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions), laid its foundation on 18 March 1870, the eve of the Solemnity of St. Joseph. Fr. Luigi Malberti (Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions), took charge in 1872 and completed the main building, which was consecrated and opened for divine worship on Christmas Eve of 1875. Hyderabad was made a separate diocese in 1886 AD, and in a consistory held in 1887, Pope Leo XIII declared St. Joseph's as the Cathedral of the diocese. It was elevated as a 'Metropolitan See' archdiocese[1][3][2] in 1953.

    1. Near the opening you can find the statues of the 12 disciples of Christ . The statues look very real and at the bottom of each statue description about the life of each Saint is inscribed. 2. The bell mechanism of the church is also very old. You may not have seen such mechanism in new churches 3. Inside the church you can find the old architecture . Most of the sentence on the walls or under the statues are in Latin 4. You will be provided with a Bible and a hymn book when you are seated inside when attending mass or adoration or else there is a place where hymn books and bibles are kept you can take one and use it. (Both have to be returned after the prayers). If you are new to church or If you don't have experience with songs, hymn books are really helpful 5. The choir songs are so heavenly. The music they add to the song is really awesome. Even if you are not a Christian please do listen to the choir songs. 6. Do not play or cause distrubance near the church or in the church. Many people come there to pray peacefully or feel the tranquility of the place

One of the oldest cathedrals in India. The church is beautifully designed. The Sunday evening mass is from 6 pm. The Christmas feast here is amazing with thousands of people gathering to celebrate. Easter celebration is equally good.

Probably the best Church I've ever been to. It has the best architecture and is very beautiful. I love this place , it makes me feel some kinda way . And yeah the people in this church are so kind and humble that you might fall in love with them . Every priest enters this parish has always been the happiest. And lastly the youth of the parish is very helpful and active, other parish's youth should learn something from them.

St Joseph's Cathedral is a Roman Catholic Cathedral located at Gunfoundry and is the cathedral of the Archdiocese of Hyderabad. It was built around 1860 A.D. and has a distinctive Italian touch in the architecture. The towering central monument can hold a congregation of 500 people at a time. The ringing of the mammoth bell atop the structure to indicate the hours is indeed a pleasure to hear. In the main alcove inside the cathedral is an imitation of the famous 'Pieta' by Michelangelo. The five giant bells have been made and brought from Italy. The bells have been attached to this fabled construction in 1892.
