Fox Sagar was once upon a time touted to be the largest man-made lake in Secunderabad. It is also called Jeedimetla or Kolla Cheruvu. History records that this lake is about 125 years old & was commissioned by Mahbub Ali Khan, Asaf Jah VI It was the water supply source for Secunderabad for a long time & its water was used for irrigation till a couple of decades ago. It apparently covered an area of 300 acres according to early estimates. If that is true, it is today just a shadow of its original self, occupying maybe ⅓ or ¼ of that area now. Some paths shown by Google Maps are inaccessible by any vehicle. However, with a sense of adventure & a dash of courage, if one ventures along those paths by walk, it would be quite rewarding. One can see a few birds, one can fish where most people hardly visit, and one can get in a good sunset there and wander through the verdant surroundings of the lake.

The sunset at this location is amazing and will make you mesmerised but unfortunately the roadway is not in a good condition.

It's a quiet pleasant place,,, It's better to visit during sunset , or if the weather is cool ,airy then we can get an Amazing feeling..This lake is widely spread and Is covered with water hyacinth plants...It gives us an Amazing feeling as the view is too good nd can click good pics as well... As it is not maintained well the surroundings were occupied by fishermen and other people which makes the lake and the surroundings polluted.. But the route to this place is not that good specially during rainy reason the bike may skid so we have to be very careful and the road is narrow as well... This place looks Deserted during Late evening and night so it's very risky to go after 7:00pm.. Best time to visit is 3:00 to 6:00 pm

This is the second biggest Lake in the Hyderabad City after Hussain Sagar Lake. Beautiful Lake with Greenery around it. People usually come here to Chill & come out from the busy city. Perfect location to experience awesome Sunset & Sunrise.

One of the largest lake in Secunderabad area. It has got a small water bridge for holding old unused pumps. Along the open circumference(be carefully) of the pumps, one can enjoy the scenic view of this magnificent lake. It has also got a long road(not recommended for rainy season) at one side by making it a preferred destination for morning workouts among locals.

Not that good place anymore. Reaching to here is bit difficult as road constructions are going on. If you stay near by then, worth to go a morning walk. But for far way vistors, it will be not much worth. You can go only with Two wheeler. 2 stars for view.

It is good place to visit in your freetime. It is not a crowded area but a lot of people come to visit here. Some comes for fishing. But I say you that fishing is completely banned here, they will take away your fishing rods. So I recommend you to not do fishing here. Morning sunrise and evening sunset looks awesome here, so better you visit here morning or evening. There are total three temples nearby to fox sagar lake. These days water is much increased here. Not a recommended place for swimming and other activities in water, this lake is polluted. Not much but this place is safe for visitors.

A nice place to chill at the lake side and enjoy the fresh air and its one one the oldest lakes in Hyderabad and build by mahbub ali khan in 1897 and it occupies approximately a surface area of 400+acres.On weekends the place will so crowdy i visit weekly more than 4 times at 6 to watch the sunset it gives good view and such a nice vibes.

Firstly, the one you are seeing is the correct location for the lake and while u search in maps the one comes 2nd is the exact location, first one takes you nowhere. Coming to the lake, after the Hussain sagar, I haven't seen this big lake in Hyderabad evar.Its very huge and the best part is the lake is very even and the whole landscape view is beautiful and its like whole lake at one place, no zig zag movements at any where. The road was too small earlier and it was very difficult to for a car to go and the worst part was u can't take a turn, but now the road got extended though its a sand road, the car can go comfortably to the end of the lake, still it looks small, the width is less. Now we can take a turn and go back, but still the 7 seater cars will not be able to take Uturn. The development looks started here, but if enough funds are released, this could be a top notch sight seeing place like good parking, proper roads, boating. Etc. The most difficult thing is once you come on to the lake road, u don't have parking space at point till the end of the lake road and if you stop on the middle at any point, it could be difficult if another vehicle passes away. Lastly, the pump set one which was built many years ago has the attraction point here majorly and they also call it as light house here, though it is closed inside u can go into it very comfortably with proper care as it is completely open in the water and no proper support to hold too.

Fox Sagar Lake is near Subhash nagar, Quthbullapur Suchitra Road. From srujana hospital take right turn after 200 mtrs ans then head forward within subhash nagar from ~4 KM. You can go with friends and family to explore beauty of natural Sagar fox lake. Few Fishman sail their personal boats but there is no provision of boating here. You can just sit on bank of lake and enjoy natural beauty preferably during Sunrise 🌅 and 🌆.

Fox Sagar Lake Look like a Fox head easily accessible from NH44 Kompally and Shapur Road. Seen a Horse riding school too. Every Sunday they sell Fishes there. Good for small outdoor trip

The fox lake was built by Hyderabad Nawab’s in 1872AD with the help of Britisher’s. In those days (18century) this lake was completely surrounded by the forest and huge number of fox’s use to come this lake. So the name is given to the lake as FOX lake.... Rally so beautiful. Fox sagar lake have a shape of fox. The sunset location are very beautiful on this lake.

Big lake, no maintenance.There is no specific point for parking and roaming when we reach it from kompally. Lot of waders can see here. Good place for bird photography. Govt can make it beautiful weekend spot by making premises neat and clean.

Very Peaceful, Pleasant & Best place for an evening walk, Morning walk and jogging for the people who are living in suchitra, Kompally and Subhash nagar. Beautiful sunrise & sunset experience. No fishing is allowed in the lake but you can buy them from fisherman. Sunday is not preferable to visit due to huge crowd.

Beautiful place but government need to develop the fox sagar for families, children's and old people will come and enjoy the nature. People use to do walking, playing, doing exercises they feel refresh ness. And some people will run the business like snaks, icecreams, some other food items. This is my opinion.

Lake are looking no maintaince.. Thanks to HRH Nizam of Hyderabad who constructed gates and over flow control valve to even small lakes in Telangana. Last week rains given lesson to our state government and the people of Telangana.. Maintain and protect lakes and should not construct the houses on low down area..

For person who loves early morning breeze and sunrise then this a must go place. Fox sagar also known as Jeedimetla Cheruvu is the largest manmade waterbody in Secunderabad. Due to less maintenance the lake is almost covered by Water Hyacinths but it didn't cover the beauty. I personally suggest for those who love weekend refreshments and spent some self time connecting to nature. Thank you
