The Hardinge Bridge is an impressive piece of engineering that spans over the River Padma and connects the districts of Pabna and Kushtia. Built during the British colonial period, the bridge was named after Lord Hardinge, the Governor-General of India at the time. It was opened to traffic in 1915 and was the first major bridge to be built in East Bengal. The bridge is still in use today and is considered an important transportation link in the region. It is a vital link for both goods and passenger transportation, connecting the two districts and providing easy access to different parts of the country. The bridge's design is simple yet elegant and can withstand the forces of nature. The bridge provides a great view over the river and its surroundings, it's a great spot for photography and it's also a popular spot for tourists and locals alike. The Hardinge Bridge is a testament to the engineering capabilities of the past and continues to serve its purpose well. It is a must-see for anyone visiting the region and is a great way to experience the history and culture of Bangladesh.Overall, the Hardinge Bridge is a valuable piece of infrastructure that has stood the test of time and continues to be an important transportation link in the region. It is a great example of engineering excellence and a must-see attraction for anyone visiting the region.

During the inauguration of Hardinge Bridge, its chief engineer Sir Robert William Gales said in an emotional voice - 'The bridge that I have built, if properly maintained, this bridge will last forever. ' Today there is no William Gales, no Lord Hardinge. But their immortal achievements remain. People die, only the talented live. Time is also lost in the flow of the cosmos. Only certain moments stand out, summoning hundreds or even thousands of years ago. Informs one's existence, reminds 'was' "I am" "I will be". Rabindranath wrote, A hundred years from today, who are you reading? Hundred years after my poem curiously. Ajika's blood rage is soaked with affection Can I send you a hundred years from now...' Hardinge is like a poem written by Gale a hundred years ago. This is like the blood of the passion of hundreds of years ago. Centenary is a great gift of love for the next generation. A generational bridge built with hundreds of affection and happy greetings. While crossing the Hardinge Bridge, I felt Ravi Tagore's poetry and those moments of hundreds of years ago were floating in my imagination.

Despite its age, this structure, crafted entirely from metal during the British period, retains its newness and robustness. Positioned strategically, it offers a splendid view of the Rooppur nuclear plant and the Lalon Shah Bridge.

One of the great places in Ishwardi, where you can enjoy both the river beauty and the site of Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant. we mostly enjoyed the amateur shooting of spending 25 taka.
