Nice hostel that is not really taken care of, making the state of the place including atmosphere alien, odd and artificial. It is just plain dirty, things are broken and nobody seems to care about how it. Service does not mind mess. They come to the kitchen in the late morning, see the dirty stuff, ignore and leave. Not their job to help. Service minds their own business, it feels like a prison sometimes. Does the owner really works there or a least visits the place? Feels like somebody created this place and left, no hospitality and no ownership. Looks like an "investment", not a place to live. These pictures will show you how it really feels like to live there.

I am not the usual hostel-goer as I’m slightly older but I stayed in the deluxe 4 bed room last summer and although I paid more for this top floor room there were no curtains on the beds despite being advertised as having curtains and more importantly there was no mosquito guard on the terrace door and unfortunately had a mosquito and even a small cockroach in the room during our stay . The staff were very helpful and gave us insect spray but it’s a shame that the owner couldn’t sort these two problems out as it’s a beautiful hostel in a beautiful area .

Don't stay at this hostel. It looks nice and the front desk lady will be friendly upon check in but you will be treated incredibly poorly after that because they don't have good people working there and they aren't maintaining everything the way they should. Safety was also a serious concern during my stay. Sad but it is what it is.

Curtains should be on all the beds as advertised , I’m a bit older than the typical backpacker so I chose this hostel for the added privacy with the curtain but my room didn’t have any curtains on the bed .. bit disappointed but overall nice hostel with nice staff .

One of the best Hostels I ever stayed in! The Hostel itself is very clean, modern and in very good shape. The rooms are very big and with curtains on your bed, where you can create yourself some privacy even though you are in a room with 7-9 people. The lockers work great with a digital pin so you don’t need a spare lock. There is also plenty of room to fit easily a big backpack or suitcase in it. The whole hostels is accompanied by very cute cats which makes the stay even more welcoming. The hostel is located in a very young and cool area in Moda, where it’s not even 5 minutes to the next cool cafe or bar. Also to the metro/fairy it’s only like 10-15 minutes by foot. I give this hostel 5 stars because I absolutely loved it and I will definitely come back next time I am in Istanbul!

That's exactly what you should looking for if you wanna stay in a convenient place and meet people during your stay. The only drawback for me was the works just next to the wall of my room but it was okay anyway. It was just impossible to sleep after 9am but I suppose that kind of stuff might happen sometimes. There are lockers in rooms, curtains at each bed and even a light next to the bed if you're are a reader like me. A very nice hostel, I warmly recommend.

Stayed here two nights in both a 4-bed and 10-bed dorm. Beds are comfortable and equipped with great with a shelf, light and curtain. Lockers are huge and electronically activated, can fit a rucksack and backpack easily. Downstairs kitchen and common area is large, with numerous seating arrangements and an outdoors. Location is fantastic. There’s a fair number of cats on the property too, some cheeky enough to jump on your lap and steal food. On check-out this morning, I told the worker checking me out a cat had pooed on the stairs. It was still there when I passed it 20 minutes later to leave the hostel, and since it was early it was prime time for someone to step on it. He didn’t jump at the opportunity to do something about it it seemed. Overall, the hostel holds a bit of an odd atmosphere.

Unfortunately I lost 69 EUR due to their unwillingness to refund my money. I wanted to stay in the hostel because as a hostel operator myself I love getting inspired by other hostels yet would have arrived 20 minutes after official check-in and asked whether it would still be possible. The special booking request however was "not accepted" but I still had to pay since officially it was "no refund" but my intention was it just to ask whether late checkin was possible and otherwise cancel my booking (and refund, if only particially). Good hostels run by real humans always leave room for negotiation (be it - in that case: late checkin - or particial refund)

Only the location is great. In my room wifi was not working, I needed to go outside every time to connect. And receptionists are not in their room, you need to call them every time ? That was weird for me. And they say private bathroom but there is no toilet only sink and shower. You need to use shared toilets anyways. If you have other choices, I don’t recommend.

Definitely one of the best hostels of İstanbul! It has good staff, good people, free lockers, comfortable beds with curtains and private lights. There are also many common areas with cool view, A/C and wifi. 🐱 - cats! The basement of the hostel is cats. Be ready, they are nice and they are everywhere! ⚡Not every room has A/C or mosquito net, but you can ask about that and staff will help.

The owners obviously spent a lot of time and money renovating this hostel but the actual experience of staying here remains appallingly bad. I didn't think a few bad staff members would matter but this was easily among worst places I have stayed in my life after visiting 75+ countries. Here are some highlights (Google does not give enough space): -I was quoted a completely different price for a long stay (a 50% discount) than what I was told after checking in. -People smoke or do hard drugs in the rooms and no one cares. -I was overcharged without my consent by the night watchman since their bank requires paying an additional fee for dollar-based transactions and he just charged the card when I wasn't even in the hostel and without asking me. This took multiple months to resolve with my bank, and I was still overcharged by about $12. -Multiple air conditioners and heaters throughout the property did not work during my stay. -I was verbally attacked by one volunteer who kept derogatorily calling me a "Pakistani." (I've never set foot in Pakistan.) This could have been funny but the same volunteer later began shouting at me from the roof. -The night manager treats the guests like a prison warden. He stares angrily and in an intimidating fashion at you most of the time and will literally cut in front of you while you are walking. I don't think he's had much hospitality experience aside from the mandatory Turkish army. -He barged in on me and a volunteer while we were in the kitchen to announce "NO MORE SOCIALIZING DUE TO CORONA! THE KITCHEN IS NOW FOR EATING ONLY!" This was never communicated or explained in my three previous nights of staying here nor are these "rules" posted anywhere for guests to see. I felt nervous and unsafe at the way he behaved. The same night manager acted like I was a criminal trying to get in a few nights earlier when I had forgotten the door code and didn't seem to believe I was even staying there. He stares angrily at guests anytime they walk by his office. -They kept announcing new Covid and other "rules" throughout the stay that were almost never clearly written down. -Even though they charge 5-6 euros for laundry, the volunteer did not read the labels properly so my jeans shrunk to half their size and my jacket became unwearable after a year of no issues. -I was told they had no SafeTourism certificate. This meant that if you test positive for Covid - even while leaving Turkey - you will be taken to mandatory quarantine in a government facility. -The lockers did not have batteries when I arrived and so were non-functional. Although the administrator put in batteries upon request, she did this by taking old batteries from a different locker instead of using new ones. - I was told upon check-in that towels could be changed whenever requested after additional payment (they provide thin cloth hand towels against payment but not properly sized shower towels), the reality is that you must chase down individual volunteers to get this done. -I was told upon check in that they wanted a separate 30 lira deposit for the key card), that it could only be paid in cash (requiring a separate ATM trip). None of this is disclosed online. -I was suddenly told - after arrival, again this is not mentioned on the website nor on any posted rules page - that there is to be "no noise on the roof after 11pm." -The argued strongly against changing the sheets and towels even every 3 days. -The email for guests to "report concerns" was not even functional. -Volunteers dominates the fridge and kitchen, playing music loudly throughout the day. I never felt I had adequate fridge space for my food or that I was particularly welcome in the shared kitchen -The kitchen has only the tiniest cups and plates. It was very challenging to comfortably eat on them or have a nice meal there. I am definitely going to give a different hostel a try next time I'm in Istanbul. I liked the owner but staying here was a living nightmare.

Great hostel in best part of Istanbul for young people (Kadikoy). Easily walkable to all bars and restaurants, but also in a quiet location for when you need sleep. Staff is very nice and place is kept clean. Easy to meet other travelers as well.

I stayed there one night in a four-bed room. And the hostel was very beautiful and cozy, almost everything was clean. The bed and blankets were very clean. There was a power outlet and a lamp on the bed. And there was a closet in the room that could be locked with a card and the clothes could be stored in it. The only downside was that the toilet didn't look very clean and interesting. Also, the staff of that hostel were very friendly. If you are looking for a hostel near the airport, go there.

I was younger, I am sure I would enjoy it much more. It is a great hostel in one of the most comfortable areas in Turkey. The bed was clean and comfortable. I stayed at the roof. What a cool feeling. It was also awesome to be able to walk to 'Moda Beach' in the morning.

Such a calm, soothing, comfy and warm place on walking distance from the Kadikoy beach from where you can easily get the bus to anywhere. The best place for tourists and for shopping, to enjoy sight-seeing. All the facilities are available here, the staff is supportive, cooperative and helpful. The beds comfy and there is serene ambience in the hostel. I would definitely recommend it 110%. An economical and the best place in Kadikoy.

I only looked at, did not stay. Only 1 private room. Celing in room was low, would hit my head. No elevator. Other guests where complainting about key card or door issues in short time i was there, could have been a fluke. Nice staff. Old building renovated, not new. Seems like a cool place for young travelers looking for a bunk bed.

Its a good place for staying long. You can cook, there is workspaces, its clean and calm. Not a good choice for tourists who want to visit all the landmarks and touristic attractions. Cheers hostel is good for touristic purposes. In Moda Drei you can actually live in a shared atmosphere.

I was supposed to stay in this place for two nights but end up spending only one. The reason why I am giving four ⭐️ instead of five, is that I arrived very late (3 am because of a delay in my flight) and I thought that the hostel will still be open. Long story short, I spent the night in another hotel and checked in the next day. The room was clean and it has a luggage locker. The staff are nice and helpful. Overall, my experience in this hostel was good and I recommend the place.

The place is good for proactive tourists who prefer living in non-obvious places like Istiklal or so. The room got 4 stars from me since the air conditioner was very noisy and didn’t let me sleep well and towels just did not absorb any water. The common balcony under the roof is cool. Personnel is very friendly and helpful. Lina and Simona, thanks a lot for your help and attitude♥️

Was the only friendly place in Istanbul, lively and lovely, the hostess was very kind and sweet, the whole area is the best to chill in more than any other area in Istanbul. People there are friendly with tourists opposed to other places which made me hate Istanbul to the core. The only reason why I take back what I said about Istanbul in the previous sentence.

I stayed at this place for one night. Yet, I woke up in the midnight bitten by bed bug and mosquito. No essential items like shampoo and body gels are provided in the bath room. The bath room's night are constantly turning off when I was showing. I have to move the door every while because it is motion sensor.

Pretty good price to performance ratio. The hostel beds are really nice. They're clean and have curtains for extra privacy. Bathroom , shower and shared kitchen facilities are quite good and are always well maintained. The hostel has a chill vibe and the staff seem decent as well. Would recommend for sure if staying around Kadikoy. One criticism would be the lack of space to put belongings as there are no chairs etc besides beds. Also , the heater I'm pretty sure makes the rooms a little bit too hot when trying to sleep at night , specifically the room I was staying at. The area is much better than the European area as well.

fantastic calue for money. the hostel is fresh and clean and the staff are super friendly and helpful. dorms all have very big lockers with digital codes big enough for all luggage. dorm beds have curtains reading lights and power outlets. great location in the kadikoy district for bars and restaurants and easy to connect via metro to airport (SAW) and ferries to european side. highly recommended.

One of the worst experiences that i had. No flexibility, especially lady receptionist. Even tho sharing bed and room is empty but trying to put full of bed dorm. The manager is worse. She kicks ppl out when she doesn't like guest attitude. That much arrogant. Plus, it is a super small narrow space, and the price is almost same as airbnb single room. So i would highly recommend staying another accommodation which has better condition. For example, 4 bed sharing dorms are almost 15-20$, and there are so many single rooms for airbnb around kadıköy. (Even price is the same or cheaper than sharing dorms) After i had no positive experience this hostel realized why I stayed there. Super regret upto now. Also I don't even know if the location is good. It was very hilly to go down and up from the center. (Especially with trolly bags) Property has no lift and the stair path is super small and narrow. If you have big luggage or even a trolly bag then it has to carry all the way to upstairs by yourself. That is the most difficult part of checkin step. There are not many hostel in kadıköy that's why their price is bit higher compared to other hostels in Turkey. But absolutely i recommend staying other accommodation with the same value of fee. Sharing bedroom is a very narrow space and path. So i moved airbnb single room around with almost same price. * price system No fixed price by Turkish lila. Calculating by Euro or dollar. Sometimes guest pay more lila. So no surprise even tho local currency price is up and down.

I stayed here for a few nights as I'm looking for a new place to stay in Kadikoy and currently living in Cihangir. The atmosphere is good, there are places to work, a shared kitchen space and more. It's clean and renovated which I appreciate and which you don't often find elsewhere in Istanbul. Keep it up!

Amazing and very friendly staff. The lobby area is cozy and nice to spend some time here. Showers are clean and each cabin has a space to change and hang your stuff. I was in a 6 persons room and - great experience, especially for this price 😊

This is a lovely hostel! One of the best I've stayed in for a while. The staff is really friendly and helpful, lots of common areas so you can find a quiet space, beds have privacy curtains and outlets. Roof deck, hot water, good wifi.

Air-condition are not working (not cooling),so u have to open the windows all the time. And there a lot of mosquitoes. Nearest building are in construction so they make a lot of noise still 8 am. curtain for bed just had one side, the another side to window are just opened. So if you don't have a eye mask, u probably will be wake up in 6 am be the sunlight.

It's very bad behavior that they get you out of bed in the morning when your booking day is over. The beds are clean. It's a nice move that they leave two toilet papers in the toilets. But it is very bad manners to come to your bed and say to vacate the room.

Its a nice hostel, clean bed and sheets, good location. I like staying here although there’s few things that kinda bothers me. When i arrived, i came a bit early like 12 or something and check in is 2pm i think and one of the staff was very nice and helped me with my baggage but the receptionist guy was kinda rude, I know that the check in was at 2pm but i was just trying to make sure if he has my booking yet because i booked it through third party website that for some reason is blocked in turkey but instead of just check and said oh yeah i got it he just was like “you can’t check in yet” in high tone so i was very taken aback but one of the staff i think his name was Chris then showed me the common area where i can stay and just wait. So that was that. The wifi also dont really work in the room. You need to go to the common area to have a better service there. Kinda pointless of having wifi haha. Other than that it was good experience and i met cool people there.

The hostel itself is maybe not necessarily a bad place, but some staff members were really unkind to me. It's not something I expected from the place with so many good reviews and people of the same age as me so unless something changes, I can't fully recommend it.
