It's a 2.5 hotel you get what you pay for. Rooms weren't swept, one bed spread had a small bloodstain and the underlying blanket was also splotched. Desk clerks were fine and location is OK

Absolutely deceptive. Garbage hotel... no fridge... no stove... outdated thick televisions...no microwave....no smoking... straight trash... don't know why it's a red roof plus! There's nothing plus about the place period.... not worth the time considering they have several hotels next door that offer everything I just said this place doesn't.. .. I'll never book Herr again....

This place did not meet my expectations. I paid for two nights a week in advance ($215) before my flight. Got to the hotel a hour early for check-in due to my flight arriving sooner than later to be rudely welcomed by a middle aged women of Asian descent giving me assistance. She asked for a security deposit rudely as if I already broken the law or did a crime at the hotel. Room was humid due to windows being sealed. Them room’s also have poor lighting. They’re currently painting the exterior as well. First night was okay until I woke up the next day and it was roaches EVERYWHERE. I truly want my money back, but they wouldn’t. I’m just going to take the L. I just stayed active and out of the hotel as much as possible, if that helps anyone. A plus, they do allow on pet to stay though. Serious review! Room 503

I stayed here for about a month. The front desk service was great. However, we found 3 cockroaches in our room. The parking area had a domestic abuse dispute incident. Also, many times the cleaners would not take our trash, which would pile up for a couple of days.

We experienced exceptional service, room was clean and welcoming, linens were fresh, and of good quality and furniture was attractive and comfortable. Hotel is modern, convenient and easy to locate with the added bonus that pets are welcome. We stayed one week and just booked it for a second week. The manager, Josephine, is a lovely, knowledgeable woman who excels in her role and truly shines as the star of this hotel (and is the reason I changed my 4 star rating to a 5 ;) ).

I am strongly led to write an addition to my previous review which I believe is fitting since I have stayed here a number of times over recent years. PLEASE READ MY PREVIOUS REVIEW BELOW FOR DETAILS ON WHY I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL! In the meantime, I want to add that unlike so many hotels where I have stayed in my work on the road, my experience with this particular hotel is it is extremely QUIET and PEACEFUL and PROFESSIONAL and WELL MAINTAINED. I cannot thank enough JO the manager and TINA the assistant manager and the front desk staff & the wonderful laundry ladies & housekeepers and maintenance for truly doing an OUTSTANDING JOB with this hotel. No hotel is perfect, but WOW on this one! Please see below for my past review which gives more information on the pluses of staying here!!! ....... Wow! I have stayed at numerous hotels over the years, and Red Roof Jacksonville Southpoint really stands out from the crowd and shines! Thanks to the hard work and care of manager Jo, assistant manager Tina, and a hard-working staff! The hotel has its imperfections as nothing in life is perfect, but its imperfections pale in comparison to the numerous positive points which include: * How hard the staff works who are professional & efficient * Freshly painted exterior * Public areas kept clean * A new security and camera surveillance system * More affordable than many other hotels * An easy approximate 20 minute car ride to the beaches!!!! * Right off the highway so great for people driving to shopping, sports games, Mayo Clinic, events, etc. * Large rooms with a wonderful desk area great for business travelers * Swimming pool * Comfy chairs and umbrellas at the pool area * Restaurants in walking distance * Walmart about 15 minutes drive Red Roof Southpoint is not perfect, but I can honestly say I am so blessed to have stayed there multiple times over the years and would absolutely do so again!

Would happily rate this place a five out of five! Outstanding staff. Place is clean and enjoyable. Weekends can get busy sometimes. But weekdays are very quiet. Super pet friendly. My pet friends love it and wouldn’t want to leave :-) love the grass in the back of the hotel. Perfect playground for my cats. Plenty of parking spaces around. Restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance. Highly recommended if you’re in town!

The staff was not very friendly at check in OR check out. However, we didn't need them thankfully, and we still had a wonderful stay. The room itself was inviting. Clean. Updated. Affordable. Soft comfortable beds. Conveniently located.

The company I am traveling with booked the hotel and I was a little nervous about my stay because I read some of the negative reviews. Wanted to post that my experience was positively wonderful! I had no problems whatsoever. They have an extremely helpful staff, clean/quiet rooms, and I was able to enjoy the clean pool each night after work. Don't believe everything you read! I look forward to staying here next time I'm in town.

Room was pretty much clean except for stained linens. Staff was nice and helpful. Grounds and building were well kept. Did continuously smell the hint of cigarette smoke from somewhere. Don't know if a guest was smoking or not. I have had a huge problem overall with Red Roof Inn having this issue of the room smelling of smoke every time I use one of their locations. But this one is one of the more nicer locations except for those 2 issues.

Haven’t even gotten in the room yet and I want to leave! I’ve NEVER had an issue checking in to ANY hotel 1-2 hours early! Our flight arrived earlier than expected and this lady wanted to charge me $28 a room to check in early, an hour later it was $25. And it was the way she said it. So my family and I legit sat in our car in their parking lot waiting for 4PM! So 4 comes and there’s a lobby full of people waiting with 1 miserable woman working REAL slow behind the counter! Worst Red Roof experience!

Employees are rude. Was kicked out randomly after just renewing my stay. I have been staying at this hotel paying the price that they ask trying, giving no problems, minding my business the entire time the night before this incident I renewed my reservation for another week then that morning woke up to a note saying see front desk management then was met with attitude and excuses then saying they have the right to refuse service when nothing was wrong before.

We are a Family of six and the hotel was great. Rooms were basic and clean no problem at all. Customer service was friendly.

It looks like the hotel was renovated. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Just bring your own pillows or get more from the front desk. They flatten out.

My family and I stay here periodically, the staff are very nice! We use the pool often and it's nice and refreshing on a hot day, the updated pool patio sets are nice! They've did alot of updates lately to the exterior of the building including surveillance which makes for a safer feeling for my family!

Great experience. Front desk in the morning& evening is fantastic & very professional. Everyone is greeter friendly & will get you what you need extra, as fast as they can. The rooms are quiet as well as in the hallways. A good night rest you will get.

My family and I stayed for 2 weeks and the service is top notched. Front desk ladies are very friendly and maintenance is very attentive. Got some minor issues that were resolved in no time. Ms Tina (front desk) and Mr German (maintenance) were the ones mostly attending to our requests. Not to mention since it is a pet-friendly hotel, there are days you get to meet fur babies in the lobby. It was a great Summer vacation coming from Alabama.

I had been unable to sleep at other hotels due to thin walls and low quality beds etc , hear at this location the walls are solid as is the ceiling. The king bed is nice and sturdy and the staff is great professional always a smile ready to answer questions or assist when needed. I will be staying hear when in town!!!

I stayed in a dog friendly room and it was disgusting. It smelled terribly of dog piss and seemed to have been poorly cleaned for a long time, judging from dirt and dust build up on the surfaces of the room. The remote and the floor were also convered in something greasy. I felt like I needed to take a shower just from being in the room. I went to the front desk to see what they could do about the dog pee smell and ended up returning with a can of air freshener that I had to fumigate the room with. It triggered my asthma and I could barely sleep due to coughing. Woke up and checked out at 6am because I could not stand to be in the room one second longer. If I hadn’t been so tired from driving nine hours, I would absolutely have left and gone to another hotel that night. Not only will I never stay here again, but I’m going to be hesitant to book this brand in the future. PS I’m writing this from a dog friendly room at another hotel brand and the room is perfectly clean and smells great. So, dog friendly rooms can be done correctly! It helps if you actually clean them properly.

Very affordable and pet friendly. Millet is very friendly yet professional goes above for customer service. There are two other front desk staff I highly commend as well. Have had multiple stays and every time have enjoyed my visit. Highly recommend.

It's a real shame that Red Roof doesn't run all their hotels like this one in particular. South Point Red Roof is a well managed, clean, modern hotel. The staff were all friendly and welcoming, also an exception for this brand.

This hotel has the best rate, and the best customer service. The location is convenient to I-95 and JT Butler for access to Town Center. Have a blessed day! With kindest regards, Mr. Glass

Very safe location - office park with other mid-level hotels. Well maintained inside and outside. Clean and comfortable rooms. Lots of dogs, ample space for walking them. It's a Red Roof Inn, so just morning coffee in the lobby, but it's drinkable. No red flags - I'll stay again when in the area.

This is hands down the worst hotel I have ever been to. •Front Desk attendant insisted I pay for my room even tho my company already paid for it, had to get manager to correct •Front lobby is musty and dark •Elevators smell •My room had a damp smell to it when I walked in. I noticed a leak coming from the mini fridge. •There were bugs, spotted 4 within the first 30 minutes. •Water pressure in the shower was abysmal •The window in my room wasn’t properly sealed so I could hear all the Highway noise. Overall there was really nothing going right here, but they did have coffee in the morning. Would not stay again.

Checked in to first room, hair on both beds and cleaning indicated they changed them, but then indicated they do not change the comforter unless it “looks dirty”. The 2nd room they moved us to was fairly clean but smelt like an ash tray (supposed to be smoke free). Got a refund and paid a bit more for a clean hotel. Avoid this hotel at all costs. I will say the lady working the front desk was very nice and easy to work with, so we appreciate her professionalism.

I booked through Priceline, which was great. The checking in process was quick and easy. The staff was amazing! But the room was dirty and I’m glad we only stayed 1 night, if I wasn’t so tired from the drive we would have checked out. The bathroom had pee around the toilet, hair in the shower and in the hotel towels there was hair still in it. We found at least 3 roaches 🤮. I will just pay the extra money for another hotel. Fridge didn’t get cold, microwave smelled like roaches. Just a horrible experience all around. We left well before check out time.

I will start by saying the front desk attendant was very nice and kind and offered to change our rooms two times, however filthy and gross can no begin to describe how nasty and roach infested these rooms were. They smell like mold and have roaches and ants everywhere.

Exceptional service, immaculate room and clean facility and grounds! I was made to feel as if I was VIP from the door. The smile at the desk came with conversation, not cold and stoic responses. I loved my stay and will return again.

The staff was excellent, my room was clean and really nice. However, there was mold on the ceiling of my bathroom. The area on first entrance looked questionable, but there are other hotels in the area.

I stayed there for about a week. The manager had a problem with my fur baby and often walked up to the door, just for my fur baby to bark so she can complain about it. None of the other guests complained about my dog except her. My dog didn't bark at all just everytime she walked up to the door. We had a camera in the room because I had to step out for a minute and when my dog barked I walked back and saw her walking down the hallway. And too everyone that said something about the roaches, trust me its true. I found a bunch of them in the room.

Stayed with my son during the Monster Truck Jam. After reading reviews, I almost picked a different spot. Before I could ask my son if he wanted to stay somewhere else, he had hooked up the xbox & firestick and already kicked his shoes off. The room was clean & basic. We felt safe, the beds were comfortable and the water on the shower was wet. I don't think they had breakfast, but there are plenty of places nearby. I liked it, but overall - it's okay.

Room was nice and clean. They were nice in making an exception to their pet policy and allowed our 3 small dogs for one night. Mattress did provide enough support and woke up with a back ache. Also, no one was at the front desk when we checked in. Overall, nice stay.

  • 3/5 Chris J. 1 year ago on Google
The place was clean and didn't feel gross, but was very basic. The walls were so thin you could hear everything. It's nice they allow pets, but if you don't have pets I would look elsewhere. Room maintenance could be better.

  • 3/5 Elle S. 1 year ago on Google
The free pet policy is an amazing bonus. The room was a good price. The room did have a lot of damage like dents in the wall and improperly colored touch ups and it had not been cleaned very thoroughly. The staff was always very polite and when we asked housekeeping for items or to swap out towels they were very accommodating. There is no breakfast and the pool is not in the greatest condition.

Insects in room. Noisy window air-conditioned unit. Floor seems worn and sticky, so bring slippers.Pet friendly hotel is the reason we chose this hotel. No continental breakfast, coffee only. Cracker Barrel 1 minute walk, other eateries 3 mins drive. Gas station close by. Close to I95. Despite everything we slept well as we were very tired. Hardly heard any dogs barking

  • 3/5 Dwayne T. 2 years ago on Google
Reasonably adequate but definitely not quality. The AC was noisy all night. The towels and linens were well used and, I assume, reasonably clean but not quality and pass there prime. The room was clean but the halls and elevate and lobby needed attention. The desk staff was okay but tired. Getting in thru the back door with our key card was a pain and it was only 9:00 and the desk could practically see the door, so I don't know why it was even locked.

  • 2/5 David P. 2 years ago on Google
The manager was OK, nothing special about her reception; acceptable. There was nothing Plus about this place. It's on the low side to say it nicely. The sheets where dingy and the floor was dirty. I was not goung to touching the floor with my bare feet or my kid; I never let her touch the ground. The place could be nice, but it isn't. It needs a upgrade. It's not the worst, but I won't be giving them a second chance. If you are skittish It's not the right place as a few dollars more might get you a nicer place...maybe?

I enjoyed my weekend stay for one night. My expectations weren’t that high but prices were Plus+ due to great weather & bike week starting. Pool is there but you gotta get front desk to let you in. Not a big deal & this helps keep it nice and keep out people who don’t belong there. Room was pretty clean. Walls kind of thin but nut too bad. Non- smoking property. Beds were adequate. Note many restaurants in the area aren’t open on weekends but there are plenty of other nearby options. Many other hotels in the area as well if you want to pay a little more. I would say this is at least a 2.5 star hotel and could even be 3 star with a couple of tweaks.

It is one thing for a hotel room to be simple, but our room was simply unsanitary. The look of the hotel from the outside is very deceiving and the pictures online are not what our room looked like at all. First off we found multiple insects in our room, in the bathroom nook and next to our beds. In the bathroom the drains were filled with hair and rust. There were clumps of hair found spread out all over the room. We also found used utensils and broken finger nails under the bed. Our sheets were fuzzed up and we were extremely itchy when we woke up. There were also stains on the sheets and stains of jam or other red liquids on the floor. I found hand prints from previous guests on my bed frame and chew marks on the tv remote. The walls in between the rooms are not sound proof- we could hear other guests. The floors were so dirty when we stepped on them barefoot our feet were covered in dust and other debris, therefore we had to wear shoes or socks every time we walked. The receptionist was extremely nice, we were checked in very quickly. On the other hand, when we decided to switch hotels because we felt extremely uncomfortable the manager refused to refund half of our stay because she said they were “booked solid”, which doesn’t make any sense at all.
