Absolutely awful experience. We purposely booked this hotel because they had an airport shuttle and we CALLED prior to making sure of it. The day before we have a flight out they let us know the shuttle is no longer 24 hours so our family would have to find other options since we had an early flight. Mind you, our whole intent to stay there with the shuttle was because we have young children and a shuttle is much more convenient than lugging car seats. Really disappointed. Also on a side note, my husband had NUMEROUS bites on his arms and legs the next day which we believe may have been bed bugs. Do not recommend at all.

Our stay went great. The front desk person sent a shuttle for us at the airport but we didn’t get picked up. He sent another shuttle but I don’t know what happened. I ended up getting an Uber cause we were tired and didn’t want to wait. The airport had lost our luggage and when it was delivered, Kendrick (sorry if I misspelled it) went above and beyond by delivering our luggage to our room. That made my visit the best. Thank you Kendrick. Breakfast was busy and packed but the lady putting the food out always smiled and seemed pretty nice. The food was ok. The room was nice and clean. Yes, it’s a little outdated but it was clean and that’s all that matters. Our checkout was super smooth. That person was extremely nice. Will definitely stay again.

Convenient for airport but the hotel is very "run down" and not even close to Marriott standards. I'm not even sure how they are able to keep the franchise!! Trim coming off the wall around the elevator, dirty, chairs with broken wheels and holes worn in the seats!! Plenty of other options in the immediate vicinity that appear a lot nicer!!!

By far one of the cleanest hotels I've stayed at in my travels. Room decor was a little dated BUT it was very nice and comfortable. It's not super modern but it's not 1990s, and I can't knock the place for that. The staff were super friendly. The grounds were well kept, too. I'm no designer but I felt like it was very recently remodeled with designs from the year before. Nothing wrong with that, I enjoyed it, but some may see that as a downside. And those that do expect too much out of this area. If you want that go to New York and pay $500 a night. Pro: clean, comfortable, cozy spot for the price. Con: none that they can control, the roadways around the area may be confusing for some. Overall 9.2/10, would stay again.

Something that I really liked, did not need to use it but liked it, was they have a board with flight arrival and departure times so you know what's up at the airport before even leaving! Anyway. The place was quiet and clean. Pillows were too soft for my preference but that's the only fault I can find so really is a win!

This is my family and I favorite getaway, and we live here. Its very quiet, clean, great price, good breakfast and great service. We come here whenever we need a escape from the city. As long as the price doesn't get high like the Embassy Suites, we will continue to go back

The front desk staff (a gentleman in the evening and a lady in the morning) are helpful, and probably one of the most friendly I have met in non-luxury hotels. Rooms looks surprisingly nice and solid given the age of the hotel, except that my chair was worn out pretty badly and the bathroom looks quite outdated. Understand it's not easy to renew the bathrooms, but replacing some of the worn out chairs would definitely help the room look better. Just a thought. They also offered free shuttle to airport in the morning. Breakfast is good too (with egg bites offered!). Overall great value for its price.

Close to the airport and great for a short commute. Hotel and rooms are a little dated, but the staff is great. One minor hiccup was a morning without forks during breakfast. I would hope Marriott empowers employees/managers to use initiative to buy forks at Wal-Mart or locally to solve problems, but that was not demonstrated.

This is a dingy, old hotel that's in serious need of a significant renovation. Everything is just old and worn out and outdated, and it's definitely not up to the current Fairfield standard. On the positive side, I will say that they have nice equipment in the gym. Also, the price is appropriately low for the quality of this hotel, so its not a terrible value. But with a nice renovation they could definitely charge more.

This was my 1st time staying in this location. Check in is at 3pm.  5mins from Jacksonville FL Airport. My flight was delayed 😑 by 1.5 hrs so I called the hotel to notify them as I would be arriving after midnight. The suite assured me they will mark me as a late check-in. When I arrived around 12:15am the next day, the associate buzzed me in and provided my room key. The property is secure, clean and I will definitely stay again.

We were coming in from our cruise this morning. We had about 10 hours until our flight so I booked a room for the family to hang out until our flight. I was very pleased with our brief stay, had a great workout and we swam in the pool. After checking out realized I had left my sunglasses by the pool and after calling was delighted that Kristen and Kendrick were so helpful to find them and extend the offer to send them to me. They were so professional and handled it with such a level of responsibility that I certainly appreciate. Thank you so much.!!

I can't complain, I've seen a few worse hotels and the best ones Location? I don't hear violence around me, that's a good sign at least. Rooms, they don't smell. Just the outside window is dirty bc of the pollen and we're in Florida after all. Where you clean your car today, 2 mins later, the car is covered with pollen again. The carpet doesn't smell like mold, pillows and mattress doesn't smell like old sweat. No bugs. Bathroom is nice and clean. Again, I've seen worse, where the tub is crusty, bathroom door is banged up like somebody kicked in. This one doesn't have none of that. Like I've said, it's at least a decent hotel. There are just customers who are just absolutely stupid. Normally, before paying the hotel you're choosing, you'll check every single detail about the hotel before you even pay. Even doing that, these customers will not make an effort bc for them, browsing is a handful of work that will consume 70 yrs of their time, then they'll complain when they are here. It's a decent hotel. It's the customers that are usually the problem.

Double charged. No supervisor available to fix. Staff did not know how to use THEIR gift cards for payment. Corporate told me they would start a “ticket” for it as no one was availabe to fix it either. All the while my funds are not available to me!!! Then it will take 7-10 days once someone does fix THEIR mistake for me to get my money back. Just don’t stay here. Rooms smell. Beds are uncomfortable. Breakfast was plentiful, enough linens that appeared clean. But Staff doesn’t know what they are doing, no one with knowledge even available by phone, holding money is not acceptable. Lastly you will wake up stuffy and puffy from the moldy dirty smell

The location and service was okay. Even the bed was comfortable. However, big issue with the room. 1. Smelled like mildew and strong air freshener mixed together. 2. I was put in a handicap room (I'm not) which wasn't an issue. The shower in the bathroom has it's curved curtain stuck too far out to serve any purpose. The entire bathroom flooded when I took a shower. All the water from the shower went outside of the shower. It soaked the entire floor. My husband had to anchor it down when he took his to prevent it from doing it again. This would be extremely difficult and dangerous for a handicapped person. 3. There was a very distinct black hair on my towel (the inside) when I unfolded it. I am a blonde. 4. Went to use the coffee cups in the room and the plastic wrap on them was all torn up. 5. My husband said the coffee in the room was undrinkable. He ended up drinking a cup of my tea (I bring my own - they didn'thave any in the room). 6. Plugs only on one nightstand (this was a minor inconvenience). I have stayed at a lot of Marriott brand hotels and this was not up to what I would expect from them.

Nasty, old, and smelly. Whole place smells like a wet carpet in your car the next day after having the windows closed. This lamp is a metaphor for this entire hotel. Sad, tired, and busted… Update: we left. Floor was soaked from fridge leaking. Hotel was booked so couldn’t move to another room. Staff were very nice about situation. They didn’t seem shocked. Seems like the owners of this hotel just don’t care. Moved over to another hotel.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. Love the fact they have guest laundry which is a big plus. Breakfast is good also. My only complaint is that the room seems outdated. It looks dark.

Marriott is my brand of choice and has been for years. This was a very disappointing stay. Albeit the guy at checkin was absolutely amazing, all else was definitely below standard for the Marriott chain. The room was dingy and stale smelling (could use an update terribly). The A/C did not put out well even after i tyrned it down. The desk chair was worn. The mini fridge was loose and slid out of the space when I pulled the door to open it. The carpet was sticky(good thing I don't walk barefoot). Our TV did not pick up any channels, only static and when we called the front desk, she did offer to move us but as late as it was (after 11pm), we declined due to already being ready for bed. The young lady told us that the only thing she could do was come up and "play with it" but probably wouldn't do any good. The young lady advised that she'd add some points to my account.....have not seen these yet. The outside door closest to our vehicle was inoperable (per the guy at the front desk which meant we had to walk all the way around to the front as there was no parking available in the front. $4 for a 20oz drink is ridiculous. Elevator is absolutely horrible. Not a satisfied customer and that's unusual for my Marriott stays.

We stayed here previously and our room was nice…second time not so much…hence the 2 star rating as soon as we entered the room it had a musty old cigarette smell although I requested a non smoking room. Turned down the air and left for a bit to see if the room would smell better but the air didn’t even get cold. The mini refrigerator is badly in need of repair and defrosting. The room in general needs updating. The only good thing reporting is the chocolate chip cookies.

Shuttle took 45 minutes to arrive after we called first. Called back after a half hour waiting and they couldn't get a hold of them. Turns out we needed to take "Fly EZ" but we're told 'Easy Fly' and the 3 empty 'Fly EZ' shuttles that passed by never once stopped by the hotel shuttle sign so it's not like we could ask. Rooms were okay, bed was comfortable, staining on couch. AC worked well and fridge. Ice machines on floors 2 and 3 didn't work, which was annoying because the sign on 3 said that ice on floor 1 didn't work. Tvs are small, but work. Black out curtains aren't great, let a lot of light in. Hallways smelled like weed, it was very clear someone is smoking in rooms or hallways. We even had the displeasure of getting a visitor at 8:30pm for a noise disturbance while tucking our kids into bed. We've stayed in lots of hotels with the kids. Most hotels have quiet hours from around 10pm-6am, and though our kids were laughing and running around as they got ready, it was extremely off putting to have some random security guard knock and "give us a warning" with annoyance. I use to work at a hotel and we never handled early noise complaints with security guards to intimidate people, and certainly not before 9pm. No one was screaming or crying, they had been sitting quietly watching TV before we started bed routines and we didn't deserve a 'warning'. First time we've experienced this. Handling early noise complaints with annoyed and rude security guards giving out warnings to tired parents putting their kids to bed early makes some parents wonder if they really should rush to respond so quickly at 3am when the baby wakes up crying...

The staff is great. The beds are terrible, the carpet is sticky, the air conditioner is so so loud. I live in hotels more than my own home for work and this one has been terrible.

General manager is very personable easy to get along with and he has an excellent staff lady at the front desk in the morning excellent, staff in the afternoon in the evening I've been staying here off and on for the last 3 weeks and I have enjoyed my stay at the Fairfield and out of all the hotels that I visited in Jacksonville Fairfield at the airport have become my favorite

I’m a rewards member and I’m VERY disappointed with this hotel! I had to pull up reviews on Google to get a chance to write a review because they never sent me a customer survey, which most within the Marriott chain always request. Room was very dirty, musky odor. Hotel staff seemed disinterested in your needs. Breakfast was terrible. And the beds were TERRIBLE! I could feel all the springs. They should not have Fairfield in their name. Do not recommend.

Stayed 9/23-9/25/2022; Hesitated to leave a review, but after getting nowhere and no communication from Marriott want to help anyone else avoid this hotel!!!! When my sister and I moved items from floor to bed to complete packing, noted BUGS (One roach and multiple small white bugs) crawling around on items; Completed packing after wiping off everything to best of ability, alerted front desk and showed pictures, and put items in plastic bags; Had to check all items in order to not carry anything around the airport or in tight quarters of plane and then Uber home and immediately set about sterilizing everything to best of our ability Emailed management with pictures included as instructed by hotel staff Received invite to return and promise of extra points with barely an apology Responded that was a ludicrous response to the added stress and expense caused by the hotel cleanliness No response from second email; No points added to account, Stay has disappeared from my Marriott account so not even points from the original stay were credited - BUT I still have my confirmation, bill, and all emails with photos Fully disappointed and traumatized by event. Completely out of character from my long history with Marriott. Carah Patterson - Gold Elite member

The service was great and the food was what you expect out of a hotel and no bad comments there however the room that we had felt damp when I first walked in and I took my shoes off it felt almost like they had gone through a carpet cleaning but that didn’t change throughout our stay. I don’t know if the AC units aren’t able to keep up with the humidity but other than that the bed was super comfortable I had a great night sleep and we love the fact that this location has an electric vehicle charger because we drive up from Sarasota with our electric vehicle

Room was clean but could have used a new desk chair. Service was excellent and location was perfect for me. The breakfast was nothing to write home about but is worked. I felt safe and comfortable here.

This is a fine hotel if you are passing through. It needs to be updated. It just gives an overall dingy feel. Breakfast was nice. They have vegetarian and milk alternatives. This worked well for my family.

I really like this one, if anything maybe a bigger elevator. It was very clean and quiet. Also they provided a complimentary breakfast which was decent. It worked for the location of things that I needed to take care of in town.

We especially appreciated the free shuttle to/from the airport since we arrived after midnight, with no luggage, and then had to go twice to the airport to finally get our delayed luggage. The customer service at your front desk was exceptional, as well! 5 stars!!

  • 5/5 Sonya A. 1 year ago on Google
I love this place. The customer service was not so great the first day I checked in. The lady was snobby and act like she didn't want to work with me. She didn't even ask me if I wanted any complimentary water, but ask the young man before me. It didn't matter, I had my own water. But you and i both know customer service compliments the company. The next day the front desk service was great. The lady was so nice.

I really like this hotel. I've been staying here on and off since 2020 for work. The staff is top notch, very friendly. I've seen the GM actually walk the halls to ensure everything is running smoothly. Yes the rooms are older but the beds are brand new and comfortable. They have free breakfast and coffee in the lobby and a pool & fitness center with Precor equipment. Can't wait to see what the remodel looks like!

This hotel was clean, beds were comfortable, and they offered a full breakfast. It was the least expensive of 4 different ones we stayed in on this trip and was the least expensive.
