This little coffee shop was right by our Air BnB and has a beautiful back garden. They have an Air BnB too but we didn’t stay here though may if we visit Takayama again. The pumpkin cake and coffee were a perfect mid-afternoon treat after exploring Takayama.

Excellent beer, cheesecake, carrot cake and shaved ice. A restful elegant space to relax for a few minutes while walking through the historic district. It’s on the way to the float exhibition hall. Entirely delightful.

I eat a first time there a carrot cake that was great and after talking to the owner I decided to go back the day after to eat dinner. The meat sandwich was really tasty ! 😋 I talk for 2 hours with the owner and her husband, they are both really nice, and the place is really cute, entirety made by the husband that work in the wood industry. I really recommend you to stop by.

Beautiful vegetarian curry. Made fresh. Nice lady who runs it cooks and looks after guests. We also tried the home made pizza which was nice.

Lovely little cafe with delicious food. しおりさん also manages the second floor as a guest house and is a great place to stay when In Takayama. Highly recommended.

Loved this place! I went two days in a row and the owners were so friendly :) really good coffee too! I loved talking to them about Murakami :)

We stopped here for a bite and we were welcomed by this very nice and friendly lady. We had a freshly made, tasty pizza and carrot cake, very delicious.

Very warm and exceptional place in Takayama for drinking or eating. The old house is so beautifullly renovated. The hosts are extremely friendly and passionate… they love want they are doing and wish to share it with everyone!

We had lunch in this beautiful cafe and it was delicious. The platter of the day and apple tart looked amazing, and tasted so also. The interior of the cafe is a perfect mix of old and new and has lovely views to the street or to a rear garden. The owners/staff are really friendly and helped my husband speak a little Japanese as he’s learning, they were so kind and patient. Would highly recommend this place for food.

Very cozy café with great cakes and drinks situated in the Old Town. Especially loved the green tea latte. Great place to take a rest and unwind.

Very nice guest house - 100years old, recently rennovated carefully. Great atmosphere and kind owner Ms.Shiori, who served tasty dinner with hida beef! Reasonable cost and great location in the middle of old Takayama town.

Super nice spot in the heart of the old town of Takayama, the ladies were really nice and welcoming! They have the best cakes, really recomend the apple pie!

A lovely, quiet, meticulously run cafe. I enjoyed the vegetarian pizza and vin chaud. (The recent one-star review must be about a neighbouring cafe. This place was spotless.)

A super cute cafe in a charming, traditional Japanese wood house. I ordered a delicious vegetarian pasta dish with eggplant. Pasta was al dente and sauce was primarily Italian with a Japanese twist. A bowl of mixed green salad was included. Highly recommend!

Very lovely space in an historical old traditional Japanese home that has been tastefully renovated (including a lovely garden out back). Beautiful details and delicious food and drinks, whether it's a coffee or a dinner. Super friendly and hospitable owners. Worth a stop by.
