Never judge a book by its cover. We were brought here by a friend for dinner. Let me tell you, if not for that, I'm sure I would never have stopped by ever in my life. The facade is definitely questionable. I was skeptical even as we approached this place. However, that all changed once we stepped foot inside. The place was very warm and welcoming albeit very dark until your eyes adjust. The service was very friendly and atmosphere was relaxing. The menu is very limited but nothing wrong with that. We ordered the corned beef and burger. Both were very good although I preferred the burger more. Definitely check this place out. You will be pleasantly surprised.

Always a good time. The food is good and worth the wait. A great place. There were so many wonderful celebrations there. Best burgers around in my opinion.

The classic "hole in the wall" spot but it's amazing, fun, and fantastic service. The drinks are great. The bartenders are friendly. The food is wonderful. Especially the burgers. The crowd is jovial. They have a backyard patio area for eating and drinking. Decor has a wood barrel look. A fantastic local hangout spot drinks and chill.

What a cool place. Like a neighborhood dive Irish Bar, but with actual Irish beer. Very limited food menu, but excellent quality for that they have. We were enjoying a long weekend in the neighborhood, and stopped in the tavern on the first night. We tried to find another like it, but could not. So we ended up there every night! Excellent Irish beer and nice people.

I've been visiting this place close to 30 years! This is one of the few places in Jersey City where you can get ( a flawlessly "poured") pint of Guinness at an affordable price. Also, they make phenomenal burgers and corned beef sandwiches

This is the kind of place you can make your home bar, the servers are super friendly, especially Stuart, he genuinely cares about his customers. Has courtesy to have good conversation with everyone sitting by the bar. Its our first time here and already indulging in the vibe of this place. Don't expect a loud music and crazy crowd.. it's for people who want to enjoy their drink while having meaningful conversations with their loved ones. Do visit this place and you will not regret. Food - 5 Ambience - 5 Client service - 5 Drinks - 5 Music - 5

This place is truly a hidden gem in Jersey city and in the Westside Ave area. We live down the street and always walked past this. I love myself a great bar so I’m quite disappointed in myself for never coming until now. The service was amazing. The bartender I believe her name is Alyssa. She was so friendly, very warm and inviting. She welcomed us and gave us a rundown on the menu. I got an IPA on tap, and we ended up getting two more brews on tap. We also got two burgers and they were so phenomenal. Huge, juicy and fresh. All the reviews about the food were spot on. I want more and will def come back. I would give this place a 10 stars if I could. I love a good classic no frills bar like this. And it exceeded my expectations. Haven’t been to a lot of Irish bars like this around jersey city but I’m happy I got to experience this one. Truly a gem on west side Ave.

I dare you to have the burger and say something bad about it. If you are a burger lover, check out this spot. Straight up burger/cheeseburger. They don’t fancy it up but the quality of the burger is so dope you leave satisfied. The fries are also great. Crunchy and delicious. Always great coming here. The prices are also very affordable. I don’t think inflation is an issue at this place. Just FYI bring cash.

Old school bar with a great atmosphere and great staff. Fantastic sandwiches and hamburgers, but don't expect too much variety with food. Not that it matters. I come for a burger and a beer, and I'm never disappointed. A quite literally hidden gem.

Best place in Jersey city. Amazing atmosphere, great food and better people. It is a bit further away from downtown but worth the trip.

The friendly confines (both indoors and on the patio) are fantastic for a burger and a beer or something stronger. The crowd is super friendly and the staff are top notch at what they do.

Tremendous burger. Great old school atmosphere and vibe. Met owner Bobby, and he spent more time than he needed to talking to us at our table, explaining their 50 great history. Can't wait to go back.

Gem of a place, love how cozy it feels once you step in, even the outdoor set up is really nice . Felt similar to being in a pub in Ireland or small town in the UK. Dog friendly too; would highly recommend coming here.

Great food, good prices and friendly staff. Only complaint I have is the TVs are kind of outdated and too small. Maybe upgrade the TVs to be a little bigger and newer? Not asking for huge 50 inch TVs but something bigger than like 24 inches would be nice lol!

I really like the dimmer lights and wood all around makes a very atmospheric stay. Also the tables made from spools works perfect. Rich options of drafts, good burgers and fries.

I came here for the1st time Friday night 04-12-19 with my sister in law and my friend. She recommended it to us. I ordered the Burger well done, my friend had the corned beef and my sister in law had the burger medium well. The burgers tasted delicious and so did the fries. The corned beef was good as well. The atmosphere was great. It reminded us of our recent trip to Ireland. However, the place perhaps is just a bit too dark to see things. The service from the bartender was very pleasant and he introduced us to the way we should order. Yes we will def come back here again.

GREAT Place! This is a very relaxed, laid back, family oriented, and friendly establishment! EXCELLENT Burgers, Fries, and Corned Beef! Packed with Nostalgia, and an aura that can only be understood by stopping in yourself for a pint of beer, and burger!

A traditional Irish pub experience. Truly a hidden gem. Great service with limited food menu with half-pound burgers, hot dogs, turkey, bacon and grilled cheese with Veg.

I found the people very warm, from the locals and from the lady behind the bar. The bartender looked after me by enabling me to watch the football (you guys call it soccer, English Premiership) Will defo do food next time, looking at the pics it looks really good. Defo going back to the bar/pub

Superb hidden Gem. Dark atmosperic interior just like real traditional bars in Ireland. Roaring fire so great escape from a rainy day in Jersey City. Very friendly staff. Menu set to 3 staple bar meals. I elected for a cheeseburger which was delicious and made from scratch. Good selection of beers. Well worth a visit!

Lighting is dark but for this spot it is tasteful. Cool little Irish pub. The vibes in the back yard are dope. but this is "closed everyday" at first glance. The food is great, and the menu is simple. Looking for a calm night out with minimal noise and a crowd of boomers ? this is your spot.

The Guinness stout from draft is the best I've tasted in a longtime. And the turkey sandwich is awesome, can't tell y'all much about the merits they serve i don't eat red meat. The atmosphere is great it has tables outside if your a smoker with a tent it's very cozy

Yet another little hidden spot in JC. Burger was pretty good. Drinks were straight forward. They have a nice outdoor section as well. Don't come here asking for frilly, trendy drinks. This is not the place for that. Also, cash only so be prepared.
