Well.. is that they don't maintain the place. I'm sure the original owners and the company as a whole are very professional, and I reall... The YMCA Center in Jerusalem cultivates brotherhood and friendship between Christians, Muslims and Jews. There are joint cultural and sports activities. The building is one of the most beautiful and prominent in Jerusalem and next to it there is a bell tower played by a person who is an expert in operating them (it is worth following the dates of concerts where bells are played). There is a hotel, gym and concert hall. The building itself was declared a conservation building.

Very big place, big gym and huge swimming pool, showers and dressing rooms, before signing up i would suggest to try one time and check out the members there, seems to be an excess of a certain ethnicity which is fine but not for all

This establishment openly allows lost kittens to suffer for literally no reason. Refuses help. Shameful. Can only imagine how they operate the rest of their lives and business. I recommend to never give a single shekel to this place. NO stars

Horrible people running this place! A kitten has been stuck on their ceiling for a WEEK and they are refusing to allow rescuers to come in and handle the situation. They have pushed back on every rescue effort. What kind of organization is this?????? And now I see your response. On top of that, you are LYING to people. How long did we chase you until you FINALLY allowed for the poor animal to be rescued. The rescuers begged you to allow for the animal to be rescued for at least 4 days and you would NOT allow it. Stop lying to people. You are vile!

Ideally this place should’ve one of the best sport centers in town but aside from the management working at the front desk ( who are absolutely awesome) the overall management and care given to the location is poor. For one the Sauna has been out of order for almost two months and when asked about it the staff gives you attitude as if you are bothering them. Gym itself is great but the dressing rooms ends up pretty dirty during the evening time and things like no toilet paper in the bathroom, working water tab or filthy water on the floor are common things. Temperature of hot tub is unstable and it heavy chemicals are over used ( don’t blame them on that as it’s almost always full with grown men). You would think that for a place that you pay as much as they charge will make sure this things are smoother it’s a shame it isn’t the case

Very poor pool lap swim etiquette. Reserved lanes are not marked. You may be asked to move midway through your workout. Bathroom smell like urine and lockers are broken. Very expensive to swim here. Pool temperature too high for a good workout. I've swam in pools all over the world only China is worse than this.

Nice clean facility. Quite a bit busier than I prefer but a solid selection of workout equipment as well as other facilities. Large pool, sauna, jacuzzi, and many other rooms for activities

This establishment is currently doing nothing to save a cold, crying, hungry kitten that has been stuck in the ceiling above their basketball court for over a week. If you’re an animal lover or have at least some compassion, this is not the place for you. 25 December: And now they’re apparently lying to people who call asking if the kitten has been rescued! There are rescuers willing to pay for the equipment and service to get the kitten out and they’re not letting them in! Update 26 December: The kitten is still stuck! They have said the kitten will be rescued at 11 am today. I’m waiting for video proof! And they better hand it off to a cat activist so that the poor thing can receive much needed veterinary care! And not just toss it out into the cold like their staff did with the last one found on their property!

A place known for workplace abuse and mobbing now refuses to cooperate with police, firefighters and rescuers to save a dying kitten stuck in their ceiling. They do absolutely everything to make it impossible to rescue the suffering animal which will soon die agonizingly. Think twice before you leave a shekel in this place!!!!!

Huge sport complex in the middle of Jerusalem. Basically you have any thing you need— fitness room, swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi, basketball court and studio classes. Open 7 days a week. Well recommended

Absolutely awful customer service, would steer clear from joining. Ignoring emails/messages/not helping on the phone and even hanging up the phone once, have been trying to get in touch for 3 weeks over an error they did, absolutely useless and unhelpful. Frequently cancelling classes. If you want to experience the worst management, customer service and administrative team in the entirety of Israel - this is the place for you. Have proof of multiple attempts of contact through messaging/emails and being ignored as well as frequent and multiple class cancellation notices before management wants to come on here and call this review a lie.

Don't know why the picture is of the ymca auditorium. Modern sports center, great pool, lots of equipment, classes, basketball ground, small cafe and more. Recommended although now access is limited due to extensive roadworks in King David st.

Great gym, great people, however I joined for the pool, which can be frustrating for normal swimming. During prime hours lanes are blocked for lessons, training and aerobics, leaving only 2 lanes for all other swimmers. I think more thought needs to go into the planning for the pool.

Great gym, been to three in the town area. Only issue is they randomly close the gym and don’t notify anybody and it’s extremely frustrating. I’ll change back to five stars once something is done about that.

It was good at the beginning... Now you can't invite guest anymore...they need to pay 95shekel while it was 50 shekel. Pool was closed a lot of time... Some of the equipment gym is broken. Sauna for Men is not working.

Rundown weight room that’s dirty and usually very busy. Machines are poorly maintained and frequently out of order. The changing room is probably the worst part—the whole thing smells of urine and mold. Overall, the facilities should be much, much, much better considering adult membership is 590 NIS for a month.

Spectacular views of the city from the tower of this stunning Byzantine building. Didn't stay here but we chatted with the friendly staff and will definitely spend more time here next time we visit Jerusalem, based on what we learned.

Expensive, but worth it. If you want to be serious about it. Good pool, more than decent gym. Good opening hours. Good spirits: people come here to do sports rather than to have a casual chat. Come sweat some!

WELL EQUIPPED – BUT IF ITS THE POOL THAT IS YOUR MAIN ATTRACTION, THINK TWICE … First, I will give the place credit where it is due: It’s a very large and very pleasant to be in. The gym itself is very well equipped, and the pool area also offers jacuzzi and dry sauna. Open 7 days a week, with the wide range of hours, and the extras like towel dispenser (although for additional charge) are very convenient… HOWEVER….. The POOL, which was my main reason for joining has proved to be a major disappointment. Its large, BUT… If you are not coming after 9pm, you will find that most of its 8 lanes are not available for regular (PAYING!!) customers, rather allocated for pool instructors PRIVATE LESSONS. Combining this with the fact that the large lane sometimes occupied by group water aerobics at the same time, one is faced with a choice of either share one of narrow lanes left with 3 to 5 people or leave… Even more annoying is the fact that there seems to be a group of individuals claiming to be on some sort of “swimming team” ( נבחרת) and have the audacity to demand that you will leave the lane for their SOLE, INDIVIDUAL USE, and INSTRUCTURS DEMAND SO AS WELL ON THEIR BEHALF. Quite frankly, I don’t particularly care, if they do indeed belong to a real “swimming team” of any description or just happen to be on a good terms with instructors – I find this ABLOSUTLEY UNACCEPTABLE!! Another drawback, (however minor if compared to the pool situation) is the fact that the (male) changing / locker room area is super crammed, making changing, especially in the busy hours not a particularly comfortable experience. Also the lockers themselves are very tiny with a bizarre L-shape design which makes storing your belongings rather challenging, and you will need to find other storage alternatives, when, for example planning to hit the gym / pool in the early hours before work to which you do need to wear (and consequently store) a more formal attire.

Amazing place with an awesome vibe. I suggest you all visit and sign up immediately..OH and join Chaya's class (that's me)! No seriously this place is amazing and warm and the staff is stellar.. Love Rena and Estee and the front desk that makes you feel at home. The place is clean and happy and the trainers are sweet (see Mary) Enjoy

Great facilities compared to others in the country. Interesting activities, but no martial arts as is offered in many other YMCA's across the globe. Clean, English speaking, friendly. Looking to sign up for gym and pool here and do Krav somewhere else. Must add, my partner was enthralled by the activity choices so each their own.

Poor maintence of locker room: soap, operational facets, paper towels Some swimmers are rude - - life guards ignore Life guards fully dtessed: long pants, shirt and jackets

One of the best gyms in town. Includes a swimming pool and 2 saunas, although one of them has been closed since the Covid crisis.

Good for traveling triathletes. Good hours starting at 0600. Large pool. Plenty of cardio including some spin bikes that measure power and will send it to your device via Bluetooth. You can Zwift but resistance is manual. Pool is a bit warm. My garmin read 86F but felt more like 90F. Cardio area is a bit warm also but you just sweat more. Bring your own towel, lock, and flip flops for the locker room. It’s not super clean in there. Gets a lot of traffic.

Generally speaking the facilities have been built very well, offering a nice gym, basketball court, jacuzzi, pool and sauna. The only issue with the maintenance... Well.. is that they don't maintain the place. I'm sure the original owners and the company as a whole are very professional, and I really don't intend to harm their company or accuse anyone of anything inaccurate, but it's a known fact throughout every member, and even every worker, that the Jerusalem branch has been very lousy and unprofessional for years now. I'm not sure of anything that goes on there behind the scenes except for what I hear so often. But through my experience, the facilities are generally very messy, in particular the bathrooms and locker rooms, there's constantly issues that take long till taken care of (including a broken sauna for more than a year), being kicked out early, sometimes even half an hour earlier than the time they close on paper, on almost a nightly basis, and some specific staff members that are inconsiderate and extremely unprofessional (screaming, cursing, and fighting each other like children). I'm always still very positive and appreciative to work out here, but considering the expensive price, it doesn't seem to come close to worth it. And that's why I feel for once in my life that I have to be a Karen.
