An ancient and impressive tomb located in the middle of a central residential neighborhood. The tomb was discovered accidentally while doing construction in the mid 1950s. There used to be drawing of a rowing ship inside the tomb, which is now in the Israel Museum. Other findings date to the first century before and after Christ.

Amazing feeling to find a small pyramid in Jerusalem!!! Breathtaking

Tucked away in the neighborhood of Rehavia, Jason's tomb is unique find. A tomb of a Hasmonean king of Judea. This tomb displays hellenized influence, with an inscription written above the door in perfect Greek verse. The pyramid at the top is called a nefesh, due to the belief that this is where the soul would wait until the end of days. A cool story about this place: when walking to school one morning as a small child, notable Jerusalem archaeologist Gabi Barkai passed construction workers who had stumbled upon this find. He never went to school that day, and this archaeological discovery captured his imagination. Barkai went on to discover the Silver Scroll, on display in the Israel Museum.

My kids, one was interested, she's 12, gave it 3 stars. My son who is 7 gave it 5, because it's 'cool', don't ask me what that means. But the average of those 2 reviews is 4... I hope this post inspires future generations of historians.

Great pit stop if you're in the area

Its great to pass by or to stop when you on the area there isn't much to see but it's great if you are Archeological freak. On the other hand it's great that it's keept an preserve in a middle of the area Here some information on the Tomb of Jason : is a tomb dating to the Second Temple period on Alfasi Street in the Rehavia neighborhood of Jerusalem. The tomb is located in the center of the "City of the Dead" of Jerusalem during the Second Temple period, which spread throughout the region where the Rehavia neighborhood is now located - on the road leading to the city of Jaffa. The grave was discovered in February 1956 when the rocks were blown up in order to clear the ground for the construction of a building on Alfasi Street 10, and after it was decided to preserve the site, the grave was given the number of the building that was supposed to be built there. The contractor Maurice Rajuan was the contractor who discovered the grave.

Well restored tomb in a nice small park. Located half-way between Knesseth and monastery of the Cross and the Old City. For archeology lovers.

Quiet historical spot in the heart of the beautiful neighborhood of Rechavia. Nice grassy area to bask in the sun or have a small picnic.

The best tomb I have seen today. I always enjoy visiting Jason's tomb. Close by are the Katzefet luxury ice cream yogurt and crepe shop. Tommy's sophisticated street food for meat, And zomick's pizza.
