We discovered this amazing ceramic center when we were in Jerusalem at St. George Episcopal Cathedral. We admired their Stations of the Cross and were directed to Balian Armenian Ceramic Center. We ordered these Stations for our own Episcopalian Church in Texas. We received stellar service. Everyone is so lovely in this shop especially Neshan and Kegham. Our tiles arrived well wrapped and safe. Thank you, Balian, for a forever gift to our church.

We ordered tiles for a feature element in our kitchen backsplash and are delighted with the final appearance. While visiting Jerusalem in 2019 we had visited the Armenian Ceramics shop and remembered how beautiful their products were. We found their website and sent an email to them to order our tiles. After seeing the beautiful hand painted tile of Balian Ceramics online I reached out to them to see if I could place an order and have it shipped to the USA. Nashan and the whole team were super helpful, sending me samples and aiding me to come up with a custom tile design for my backyard. This was a large order (>900 hand painted tiles) and I had no problems purchasing from Balian via wire transfer. The order came faster than I expected! We saw a beautiful tile in a pool magazine and tracked it down to Armenian Ceramics. We live in California and had no idea how to purchase the tile all the way from Israel and get it here for our huge pool. But we worked with Nanor who promised us fast service, and boy was that so true. They custom made us 600 tiles and shipped it out on a Monday and it arrived to our home via DHL in two days! This is faster than getting it from another state in the US! We did have to wire money directly to them and at first this was a bit uncomfortable, but they reassured us they were a family-run business with a reputation they want to keep as great as possible. We trusted them and made the order and their communication was stellar! I would order from hem every piece of tile I will ever need. Hats off to your company! So professional and perfect!

The door is easy to miss and you have to ring to enter. You can see the artists at work and walk through a gallery of large pieces. Of course there is a shop which is a beautiful gallery in itself. You will see their work on pretty much every wall or sign you see. No charge to enter.

I am very pleased with Armenian Ceramics. They are customer focused, easy to do business with and very professional. The pool tile we received, on time as promised by the way, is absolutely beautiful and I can’t wait for it to be installed. They have been totally honest in our dealings and I would recommend them to anyone and already have! Also Nanor and company are very responsive even though there is an 8 hour difference in our time zones.

In June I traveled to Jerusalem from Pennsylvania with my church group. Before I left home, I was told that I must buy Armenian pottery. So, one day I set off into town to find a pottery shop. A friendly local man directed me to the Balian Pottery Shop. What a treasure I found inside that door. The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful and carefully wrapped all my purchases to take home to my children. I cannot say enough good things about my experience at this wonderful family-owned shop. You must stop in and meet them. Their work is original and beautiful!

My family had ordered near 200 tiles and every single tile arrived in perfect condition to the U.S. I encountered not one scratch or broken tile during unpacking. The tiles were used to create two tables to enhance the ambiance in the yard. With the help of the Balian’s, we were able to carefully select specific colors and design to match our yard and house. The tables are mesmerizing and an attraction to all visitors. A trip to Armenian Ceramics of Jerusalem is a MUST when visiting the area. You’ll be amazed at the traditional technique and unique designs the family-owned pottery shop has to offer.

It was the treat of a lifetime to be able to go to the Balian Shop on Nablus Rd 6 weeks ago. We had a wonderful visit and conversation with the Balians who were kind, generous and attentive for our visit. I was thrilled to buy pieces to continue the collection my parents started in 1960. I was born in Jerusalem in 1963 and lived just up the road, across from St. John’s Eye Hospital. My parents bought many pieces of pottery during their nearly decade in Jerusalem and my father bought many pieces during his trips to Jerusalem in the 1970’s and 1980’s. When my father concluded his 25 years of work with and for the Palestinian people he was gifted a beautiful tree of life which hangs on my wall. The Balian (and Karakashian) pieces we have are the heirlooms of our family. During our visit in March we purchased beautiful pieces for ourselves and our children who have now started their own collections! The shipped pieces arrived in perfect condition! We will continue to add to the collection as we celebrate life milestones and seek to continue a family tradition. Thank you Balian Family for being part of the fabric of my life.
