It's
the
oldest
park
of
Jashore.
It's
a
government
park.
So,
it's
free
to
enter
into
it.
It
was
the
only
source
of
entertainment
of
the
general
public
of
Jashore.
It
was
a
sanctuary
for
the
drug
addicted
people
and
snatchers
once.
It
was
changed
during
the
period
of
Mayor
Mr.
Rentu
Chakladar
in
2019.
He
took
a
project
of
about
30
crore
taka
to
modernise
it.
There
are
two
ponds
in
the
park.
There
are
many
stories
about
the
two
ponds.
There
is
also
a
legend
that
one
cannot
swim
from
one
side
to
the
other.
People
often
take
permission
to
catch
very
big
fish
from
the
pond
by
their
wheel.
The
park's
pond
is
surrounded
by
coconut
trees.
Day
and
night
equal
Jessore
Municipal
Park.
Adequate
lighting
has
been
provided
here
during
the
day
as
well
as
at
night.
There
is
a
historical
monument
in
the
park.
That
is,
in
1972
Bangladeshi
architect
Bangabandhu
Sheikh
Mujibur
Rahman
set
up
a
memorial
plaque
in
memory
of
Jessore's
Shaheed
Masiur
Rahman
in
the
liberation
war.
The
park
is
entered
through
the
gate
on
the
east
side
and
exits
through
the
back
side.
Abdur
Razzak
College
is
on
the
west
side
of
this
park,
a
high
school
is
next
to
it,
Public
Works
Circle
office
and
residence
is
also
there
on
the
north
side
and
the
residence
of
the
District
Judge.
There
is
enough
sanitation
but
no
pure
drinking
water
here.
