Monument to the catfish who lived in Pregol when the bridge was built. The huge catfish scared away and interfered with the work of divers. Nearby there is a pier from which they sometimes catch catfish, as well as bream, pike perch and other inhabitants of the Pregolya River.

It’s a beautiful monument, but the most interesting thing is how it got there. Several years ago they began to restore the bridge and this huge catfish interfered with the restoration under water and because of it the deadlines were greatly delayed. Nobody knows whether it’s true or not that the catfish was in the way, since no one saw it, but in honor of this event they decided to erect a whole monument to this large catfish.
