The stay would have been ok until we realized we were robbed on different occasions by the house keeper (from personal items, purses, clothes etc). Sadly management did nothing about it when we reported not even a follow up (its been almost 2 months since we left, we stayed there a whole month). They did narrow it down to who they suspected it was but did not follow up with us at all. Then there was several occasions of non working appliances (fridge, stove, no hot water) in the apartment. Our stay gradually deteriorated in terms of services we were paying for. Thanks to the House keeping lead/supervisor (can't exactly remember his name or exact title) who attempted to resolve our issues the best he could he each time we called although he was also very limited in his role. To say the least I wouldn't recommend staying here as a family on vacation..... The 3 star rating is for the location. I would have given a negative start rating if that was possible for service. The restaurant and bar were great. Everything else could hugely be improved. Management can at least follow up with customers especially with incidents like these. The fact that people take for granted customer experiences is very appalling.

Kabira Country Club has a Great location, easy to get in and out of the city. The restaurant was fantastic, The food was good, when it comes to rooms you don't want to leave,The beds were very firm, too firm for my liking and staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is well maintained. . . I, especially, enjoyed the view of the sunset - Steven Musoke

Located in the middle of town and busy area, very easy to access. 5 start experience and service. The indoor gym is always a good experience with no congestion and lots of spacing

It was a wedding reception at the hotel. Everything was perfect. The staff were very helpful during function and the accommodation was beautiful and the food was superb. It couldn't have been better. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Thanks, Kabira Country Club!

I enjoy coming here as a local day visitor, not to stay at the hotel but to use the amenities. The pool and gym are pricey if you don’t make a day of it, but 10k can get you use of the basketball court.

This place is phenomenal! Everything about it... Service, rooms name it, is just good. I had a taste of their milkshake and grilled chicken, oh my god! I loved it.

Come relax by the pool. Entrance price is slightly high, but the place makes for a nice few hours to rest, morning OR evening! There is also a restaurant adjacent to the pool....and a construction site right next door. It was not crowded when I visited, which made it a very enjoyable time.

We had the family 2-bedroom cottage (Gardenia) for one night. With a price double that of surrounding Hotels (even on a holiday special) I would call this completely overrated: - It took the staff 20min to get our room opened. The key card I ultimately got in hand for Gardenia looks like it's been used for years. I would ve preferred a cleaner one. - There was no hand-soap in bathrooms (even after I called the reception twice). - I saw cockroaches in one of the bath rooms. - My room was infested with mosquitos but had no net. - The grass around the pool is very muddy.. you'd think after so many years they're get that sorted? And towels indeed also very dated at pool area. The only things I really liked was the friendly staff around the pool, and decent quality/tasty food of the buffet. Also the sport area, sauna and steam room are well kept. But I've stayed in various places around Uganda, in placed at half this price, where the room and conditions were far superior to this!

I am currently on my third business stay at the Kabira. The apartment is fantastic with a separate bedroom, comfortable bed, lounge area with television and comfortable sofa. I would thoroughly recommend the Indian food in the restaurant and room service in particular the curries, chicken tikka and naans. The gym and fitness facilities are exceptional. Overall a fantastic stay. If I had to be picky I would recommend more choice at breakfast and the building works were a little noisy. However these are minor disruptions and would recommend.

It's a nice looking place that has a natural touch. It's located in Bukoto and it's about 5km from the city centre. The club has a swimming pool with a Gym that is well equipped. The swimming pool and gym gave got instructors that are available. There are meeting halls that can accommodate about 100 to 200 people. I liked their Mongolian dishes that are serviced by their chefs. Besides the Mongolian dishes, they have a variety of dishes that cover both national and international guests.

It was quite an unbelievable experience. I mean, at some point you need a place where you can sit and be in the quiet. There are lot alot of noises coming in even if it is in the center of the city. Kabira has great sports facilities incase you like balling πŸ€, tennis🎾, swimming πŸ₯½ etc. I mean it's quite a great experience to have. Definitely worth the cost.

Kabira is a truly spacious and welcoming place, though the prices are slightly high they more than make up for it with their great customer service and splendid food. During the Weekdays it’s a great spot for business meetings and dates with a loved one. During the Weekend it’s a great Family Spot especially if one looks to take the kids out for swimming.

Great facilities I usually use the premises for sporting activities because of having fully equipped areas right from a football pitch, basketball court, tennis and of course their gym is just on point... The Restaurant is great with all kind of meals. And just close to there is a swimming pool up to the size... for both kids and adults Conference facility is another amazing aspect as it's equipped with everything right from sound, lights, cameras, screens etc though the main center has pillars in it but that's compensated for by screens making it perfect as a conference center... Parking is up to the mark and ample and location is undergoing expansion... Rooms renovated giving one a perfect stay and rhe best thing about them is the "shade areas" to view everything In place Security is to the mark right from the gate to accessing the common area..

Good pool, not big but ok for the weekdays. Nice restaurant and bar (3 cocktails at the price of two during happy hours). Many expats. It's a spa and tennis and squash courts there. Big parking, not a problem to find a space. It's a new facility construction near the pool, so it can be noisy.

The swimming pool is of the standard size. Loved it cause it was less congested within the week days. Swam up to 7:30pm. Then it was time to treat the water for the next day.

This place is funny πŸ˜‚ I ordered the lentil salad with sun dried tomatoes. However I got a salad with red onion, chick peas, carrot and peppers. They didn’t understand my complaint. And then they said they were gonna make me a new one, but I got exactly the same πŸ˜‚ would not recommend for food. Gym facilities are okay though.

Hello its your favorite local guide/critic I’ve stayed at kabira club for 1 week with my husband and it was a roller coaster to say the least it was both a good and a bad experience First lets talk about the welcoming: it was good the receptionist was an expert at her job but the manager was a tad rude ( a manager should smile at all the guests not a portion of them) Second the rooms we got our first room and it was nice the bed was really soft and comfortable but the AC was not working at all and we were sweating… we notified the reception and they gladly gave us another room with a view to the pool…. The ups were the view and the AC WAS WORKING like it should but the downside was the bed…i felt like i was sleeping on a rock and i could not sleep well… I notified the receptionist and she told me she will do her best to find another room until the manager came and told me that all the rooms are like this and i said nothing. The service was great nice staff they clean up well The rooms are clean i read some reviews that say the rooms are outdated but i did not see that they were good and the kitchen has everything you need The breakfast is the same every day but it is delicious The food was good especially the indian food The pool is nice but the service at the pool was very poor you need to beg for a mattress and some water… rented some goggles that dont work for 5 minutes and they charged me 10.000 Overall its a nice hotel that needs a better management and some nice mattresses other than that it was a nice stay Price per 2 persons 165$ per night

Am always here due to proximity from home. With the new trend of working at home, this place is my home office. Strong WiFi, mega screens by the bar, friendly faces and good ambience. Except one has to carry mosquito repellent if you plan on staying on after 6pm. Those mosquitoes are trained to bite. And something is not right with the live band. Also that 5% service charge for every order made, I used to call it school fees until I asked one of the waitresses. It's from this 5% that all employees are paid salaries. Well, am not so familiar with it but I assumed that when I make an order of an over charged item, that is were salary employee comes from. Instead am charged extra 5% for employee salaries. Anyway, be sure to tryout Mongolian night on Friday.

Great ambience, need to improve on their fast food especially the chicken drum/wings, very dry unsalted fries, I think their speciality is in Indian dishes since it's owned by an Indian & mainly I see the kitchen is mainly Indian Chef head dominated

I have been here very many times for workshops and rotary meetings. It has the best service in Kampala and they are effective and efficient in all they do. You will enjoy their meals that are served real hot. They have several lavatory rooms that are sparkling clean 24 hours. They also have a huge bar and restaurant, swimming pools, gymnastique centre and arrange weddings and any other parties. They also have a thursday night where they prepare all intercontinental food; you walk to the chef after choosing all that you wish to be included in your meal. Those who enjoy cold beers and sparkling wines, it's the place for you! The place is well-lit, both day and night. I can go there a hundred and more times.

Despite being a costly place for the services and luxuries it provides, it has now lost it’s greatness. Some items are not even maintained. The pool table for example. Otherwise the restaurant, the gym and the pool are pretty great. You can also book halls if you wish to hold a small conference.

We came to the club for a meeting and a meal, but we didn't stay in the hotel. We certainly enjoyed the food, and the service was good. Only issue: the chips (French fries) were tough, not crispy. Maybe an issue with the type of potato, or maybe the cooks don't know how to make crispy fries?

Really great place with a great ambiance. Didn't have the opportunity to experience all areas but the few areas I reached were great. Big, nice pool and kitchen areas close by. The food was delicious πŸ˜‹. The conference room/ballroom was okay except for the huge pillars that were obstructing.

  • 3/5 dhh002 11 months ago on Google
The staff are responsive and helpful. The air conditioning and internet were reliable. But the construction is loud and disruptive. The pool is nice but dirty under the surface. The rooms are falling apart and repairs only addressed street repeated requests. Don't use the patio or open your doors in the evening unless you want mosquitoes in your room. The beds lack mosquito nets and other preventative measures.

Was only there for breakfast. It was busy with everyone enjoying the pool, business meetings and casual meetings. The staff were attentive and service was quick. Place is clean. Just a little incident happened. I asked for my bill twice from two ladies with what I had had that morning. All said the same price of shillings 45,000 I waited hoping they would bring the bill but none came. I then insisted to get my bill, and when it came the total price was far much less that what the ladies had told me verbally.ugx 34,400 I was irked by this, I hope this is not happening on a regular basis. Aside from that everything else was ok.

Great quiet place in the Kampala suburbs for a semi-quiet residential stay. Has a well equipped gym, playground, swimming pool located right within the limited area. I wouldn't call it a fun place though, a little drab and dull, frequented by the higher class of business people. Kitchen produces a good menu and is a little pricey but acceptable for the standards. Wouldn't recommend for a family stay but for live-in conferences, parties, and small public events, it suffices.

I frequented Kabira Country Club for years to swim and play tennis. In November last year however I was charged an incorrect amount at the reception. I immediately realized and the receptionist cancelled the incorrect transaction and made the correct one. However, the refund for the incorrect transaction (100 EUROS) never came back to my account and I asked Kabira to resolve the issue multiple times. Every time they just made up a new excuse and up to now, nearly 4 MONTHS LATER, not only I have not yet received the money back (100 EUROS), but they have not even managed to show me proof of being 'working on it' as they keep saying. And they have not shown any willingness to make up for the inconvenience, like for example giving me a free entrance or anything of the kind, just something to show that they are sorry to still be holding to my 100 EUROS 4 months later. Nothing at all. Incredibly TERRIBLE CUSTOMER CARE.
