Freedom Beach is a public beach but to get there you will have to enter through private land. You can park at The Lek Sand Beach Bar which is owned by the landowner and walk down to the beach from there. Note that it is “FREE” no entrance fee, no parking fee. There is other entrance to the Freedom beach but they charge you 200 baht/person

Really enjoyed Freedom Beach. We didn’t take the paved way up so our journey was a bit bumpy on a bike with two people. Once we parked we saw lots of pigs and were directed to the path leading down to the beach. No one asked for payment for parking. We then took a bit of a downhill jungle hike. Took around 15-20 to get down. Very pretty! But, hot. Wouldn’t recommend with any kind of sandal or something you might slip around in. Beach was beautiful, white sand. We snorkeled around for 45 or so minutes and the visibility was great. Saw a few fun fish! Enjoy the sweet local pup who begged for food. For the trek back out we went barefoot and it was much easier. We then took the paved way back down the mountain which was way nicer of a ride and also took us by a pretty stunning viewpoint. Definitely recommend, it’s worth it!

Nice beach. More like a little cove. Not as many tourists here, but that doesn't mean there are none. There are no trash cans available but the beach is surprisingly clean. The water is so blue! There are a few food stands. Beware that if you order drinks and food they may be from different vendors so the total you get might not be the whole total. We almost left without paying for our food! Prices are comparable to others in the area.

Top tier beach. I loved coming here and chilling for the day! You can walk around to other beaches, resorts and 2 viewpoints are nearby too. They have a bar/restaurant on the water. 50 baht was a fine price to pay for the vibes and chilling. Free sun chairs, regular chairs and tables you can fully relax with good tunes in the background too.

The beach is good and not too crowded. There are a few locals selling drinks and grilled goods. All on all it was not worth the hassle though. Depending on which way you go it's quite the long and steep walk through the jungle. We went one way down and up the other. One has a small cafe at the top, that is the harder/longer one, I'd use the other. There was nobody collecting an entrance fee either.

It was worth it. 15 to 20 minutes of trekking in a hilly area then downhill you see the freedom beach. Fine sands, clear waters, lots of greenery. It's a secluded area, a few people and the water was good. There's no actual entrance or gate, but you have to pay 100 baht fee per person, a child is free of charge, they say it was for maintenance, etc. They offer a 4-wheel drive SUV ride at a cost (100 baht per person). At the beach, there were plastic chairs and big umbrellas for rent (2 chairs + umbrella) 100 baht. You have to pay more if you need an extra chair. I suggest you bring a picnic mat and extra towels. Please note that there's no toilet, changing or shower area. The locals offer coconuts and alcoholic beverages at a cost. You have the options to walk back or ride the SUV or boat (at a cost). And please don't leave your trash behind. ☺️

DO NOT PAY TO GO TO THIS BEACH! You can walk to this beach for FREE if you go through the Lek Sand Beach Bar which you can search on Google. It is a family who is fighting to do what's right and keep the way to the beach free. It's all the way at the top of the road and others will try to get you to go down the trails you pay for 200+ bht. Just keep going til you see Lek Sand Beach Bar. They have a well maintained trail through the jungle and it's about an 8 minute journey. It is a solid hike but worth it! Be sure to donate or pick up some snacks at Lek Sand Beach Bar. They also have beach mats for rent for 50bht! Freedom Beach is the prettiest beach imo to visit in Phuket. They do have a few local vendors selling drinks and beers on the beach. And some beach dogs! It's a much more raw experience to hike to and from (for free) than pay 200+ bht a person or 1500bht for a boat. ✌

We took a long tail boat from Patong Beach to Freedom Beach which took all of 15 minutes and a cost of 200 Baht one way per person. The facilities on the beach are awesome, there is a beach bar, snorkeling equipment to rent if you don't have your own as well as a restaurant and vendors with street food on the beach. Spotlessly clean and so chilled, relaxing and beautiful. When you arrive at the beach, you arrange a time with the skipper of the long tail to come and collect you, and voila, you get taken back as smoothly as when you arrived. It was awesome x

I got here by getting a lift up to the top of the hill to go down 1 of the ‘free routes’. This is where the fun began. To start on the pathway that leads to the beach, I had to duck under a fence and then began the walk down on a pathway that is rather steep downwards and upwards. After around 10 minutes or so I reached near to the bottom steps that lead to the rocks but not to the beach. I could see the beach but I couldn’t see anyway to reach there, going via the rocks looked dangerous. So I started the arduous task of going back up the pathway to find an alternative route. As I got back up to the top of the hill, I bumped into someone who had been to the beach before and he advised that there is a small pathway on the left of the last steps and that leads to the beach (the 1st 2 pictures I have put up show the last steps and pathway to take to beach). So following him I finally made it to the beach. The raw natural beauty of the place hit me like nothing else. The sand was white, the water clear on the shore and light blue in the shallow. Some parts of the beach did have rubbish strewn around but the majority of the beach was clear. The beach had a few People around and was not busy. There was only snacks and drinks for sale and there was no pressure to buy unlike other beaches. Red flags were raised and speaking to the lady who sells foodstuff, advised that you shouldn’t swim in some parts and if you do, it’s at your own peril. There is no Lifeguard on duty. This really is the closest I have felt to nature on any beach. I must advise that if you have bad legs or any medical issues then maybe you should seek an alternative route. I did the trip twice down and twice up and needed a breather a few times on my last trip up after my visit ended. There usually is a taxi at the top of the hill, if not top then slight walk down towards the shops. The hard time getting there is worth it as this definitely is the best beach in Phuket I feel and I believe anyone visiting Phuket needs to come visit this beach, even though it’s probably the smallest beach.

A very nice beach but has minimal services. Walking is a serious hike up and down a steep hill that is not truly worth it A private long tail boat from Patong beach that waits for you to enjoy the beach for 3 hours costs 1000 baht, and again the beach is nice but not that nice. It was fun.

I went there and paid 100 to enter the beach. The entrance was good but a little bit dangerous but after that, I got relaxed at the beach and there is too many places to serve you everything that you need after I finish it was so difficult to climb the mountain to get out of the beach so keep that in mind.

We hiked it from our nearby hotel, and it is very manageable down, and a bit of a trek back up. There are "shuttles" up and down in 4x4 trucks if you don't want to kill yourself but definitely doable if you want to save a few bahts. Pretty well marked so tough to get lost. Seems a ton of other folks accessed the Freedom beach via long boats from Pantong so that's an option. The hotel advised us about the 100 baht entrance fee and to not bother fighting it even though it is a public beach. They gave us a bottle of water with each paid "admission", and our kids were allowed in free. We were there around New Years, and the beach was packed! Every naturally shaded area was packed, and they even ran out of umbrellas, which were being sold for 100-300 bahts depending on the vendor. We bought chairs in the shaded area behind a vendor for 100 baht each. Recommend to check out as the sand is great and water is clean, unlike some other more popular beaches.

I was there on the pandemic!! And it was a blessing 🙏 🙌 ✨ not cloudy, just me my friends and a very few tourists. There are 2 ways to reach this amazing beach ⛱ 💙 BUT! One free and one costs. I myself recommend you the free one. Dude! It was incredible 👏 i was gonna die on the way to the beach but then the way back to the parking was like it's written by Steven King 🤣 the mosquito monster, the mud that sucks when wet but the happy ending was when i reached and my watch happily informed me how much i lost my calories. So if u love adventure. Trust me go to the free way! 😘 TC! Btw I'll bring my date there 😝 pray for me and my love life 🙏

(Translated by Google) Freedom Beach is a beach like Oh My! Before walking down to the beach Tired Must walk down the hill Going up the mountain is like going on a pilgrimage to Khao Kit Kood. What is difficult to walk up to? Walking down that difficult Ask if it is beautiful or not, is it beautiful, worth that it should go? If so, it should come once in a while, but if you have to come to swim here every day, you probably won't go up and down every day The beach is full of tourists. Russia seems to be a big crowd on this beach. Looks so famous Among Russian tourists Way to the beach outside Is quite tough, not losing the way to the beach, so I don't mind driving up Park the car downstairs and walk over. If you are going there by Grab/Bolt, do set your drop off point as the Lek Sand Beach Bar. This is a free entrance and do not need any entry fee. The trek down and up is quite trying but absolutely manageable. Went on a Monday and the beach was not packed! Beach Vendors are sufficiently stocked, so you do not need to worry about lugging down snacks or water that may add weight to your trek! Definitely recommend!!

We came to this beach by recommendation. I have to say we weren't disappointed. It's one of the most beautiful beaches we've been to so far. We got to it down the trail from Lek Sand Beach Bar, which served a great smoothie. The trail through the jungle was quite an adventure and made the whole experience feel like something from The Beach. The sand is so soft and the sea beautifully clear. There was quite a lot of broken glass on the shore line, however the life quards were picking it up. They were also very strict on where you could swim, I'm assuming due to sea urchins in the rocks. If you do go via Lek Sand then be warned, the road to get to it is a gravel, mud and rock road so take care. It's worth it though!

Beautiful wild beach during this covid time. Around 30 min for go down by a short and amazing trek. Beware of snakes and massive spider! But really beautiful. I have done with flip flop but better to take shoes. On the beach we find some step, I guess there is another entrance but maybe not free. We have take the way true to the forest and was free to get there.

One of the good beaches in Phuket. It secluded and clean. Reaching the beach is quiet a task as one has to do a bit if trek - descent while going towards the beach and ascent coming back. But it's all worthwhile when you reach the beach. Be cautious while doing the trek. It's better if there are no children. Approach to the beach is through jungle/bushes so one must be cautious always. There is also a stairway but we didn't explore that hence cannot comment on that.

We stopped at the 7eleven shop which is 10 minutes walking away from the beginning of the freedom roadway. 100 baht for one road of 700 meters down to the beach. Wear good shoes for the hike up and down. The beach was cute. I believe the beach would have been stunning if the sea was calm without the storm. Liked the vibe. There is all day drinks and food.

This beach is one of the more popular beaches. The sea and the sand are beautiful. There are two ways to get to the beach. It is possible to reach The Lek Sand Beach bar by boat from Patong Beach or by car. You park here. You can walk through private property to the beach. The road is not very easy for those who go with children or for elderly people. The descent is steep and you must wear sneakers. You have to walk about 600 m. In the pictures you also have a video of what the road is like

Serenity and tranquility at its best at this place. The beach is downhill somewhat around 300-400m and it is steep and tiring when you walk uphill but this is a beach not to be missed if you are in phuket. Carry your own food as there is only 1 shop over there. They charged 100 baht per person for entry which I feel was a scam and there’s no fee as no ticket was given, so be careful about it, I visited on the day of storm and it was raining and the waves were high but the lifeguards were very alert. I enjoyed my 2-3 hours of the beach time. This is a must place for peace.

This is well worth the effort to visit if you don't like the crowds and swarms of boats on other beaches. At the time when we went, the taxi can only do you at the entrance. From there you have to walk. It's 100bht to enter but you get a free bottle of water as well. It is a very steep walk down and not ideal in flip flops! Also not greatly signposted so we missed the steps and climbed down some rocks which was a bit precarious. Lots of people did this! The beach is pristine but get there morning time if you want a sunbed. There are shady places but watch the tide as it does come in a long way and won't hesitate to take your possessions away! Two restaurants there and just a freshly relaxed vibe. Conscious by writing about it, more people will go but it already is covered in Lonely Planet and Google searches rate it highly. We spent the whole day there and people were still arriving late I think to watch the sunset.

First something important: do not take young children to this beach - the path from the parking lot to the beach is too steep. Secondly: I don't recommend visiting the beach after rain - the stairs are mostly cut in clay. Besides, the beach is really beautiful. It is worth seeing. From parking to the beach is 0.5 km. Car park is not big and location on Google maps points to it. After you pass the cottage concrete road will end. Then turn right - before three stones. This is a more comforetable path. Part of the stairs is made of stone there - on the left is jungle only and clay. It is wild beach. U can't find there sunbeds and bar or shops. Enjoy freedom there!

Right word of warning this beach is free but there is a local scam where taxi drivers drop people of 1km from the actual beach and they tell you there is an admission of 100/200 baht. Yes we got caught, we then walked down the dust track for about 20 minutes beware steep incline. When you reach the bottom it is all rock no beach. Met a couple they explained the above and we then had to hike over the rocks that were slippery to get to the actual beach, once we eventually got there the views were stunning. There are some beach vendors you can get a drink, just remember you have to climb back up to the top of the rock that took about an hour. Is it worth yes … but not for the faint hearted

A really cool and scenic beach! I had a really good time here chilling and relaxing. I was here for 4-5 hours. You can get free access to the beach from The Lek Sand Beach Bar, other shacks charge you around 100-200 Baht. All The Lek Sand Beach Bar ask is that you buy something from their shop. It's OK if you don't buy anything also. The trek is around 20-30 mins and goes through a forest area. It's nice but you have to be careful. Once you get to the beach there are food/drink stalls and they give you a space to sit under an umbrella and also a mat on the beach as long as you buy something from them. They don't pester you if you buy something and sit for hours. I liked my time on the beach.

The hiking trail is not abandoned. There are ropes to hold. I think average people could manage to go down. There are local sellers at the beach that sells delicious smoothies (80 baht) and corn (50 baht). I even bought waterproof bag for my phone for 100 baht. To leave the beach, we did not follow the same trail. We took the stairs next to the shower and then paid 100 baht for transport to only go up. Then we took another transport to Patong. Underwater is really amazing here. I only know the fish in Mediterranean area. Here there were amazing fish. The beach is not so hidden tho. Not crowded but also not super isolated as well.

This beach is worth the trek or boat ride; however you get there, just make sure you do because it is gorgeous! My favourite beach in Phuket that visited. I got there by scooter. Turning off from main road, which I probably wouldn't recommend doing lol as it is very bumpy and up hill but I made it! Then I walked down the pathway through a bit of jungle for about 15 minutes and it was gorgeous. There is a little stall before you go down that sells fresh fruit and bottled drinks which I stopped and had some delicious watermelon at after the tiring trek back up. The water was pristine and just a really nice spot on the right.

The whole process made the experience that much better. The beach is beautiful , a good size, good priced food stalls . Just be careful with the rocks in the water. My personal favourite part was the entrance. There is a sweet local home with pigs dogs cats chickens running freely right before the 600 m trek through the jungle to get to the beach. The trek is very scenic and if you enjoy hiking you will enjoy this little wirkout through nature.

A beautiful beach to swim and relax at. Just be ready for the entrance fee, the steep hike there and back and the cost of hiring beds (which isn't expensive). We had such a lovely day relaxing on this beach whilst enjoying drinks and food from the local vendors. Bring LOTS of sunscreen as there is no hiding from it here.

Its nothing around that area and takes time to go down and back! so get ready to work out! if its rainy it gets slippery as well! so watch out! one of the best beaches around phuket! it will be closed after the susnset! cheers!

It is Private beach. You need to pay 100 baht person to access. But it is very steep. Suggest to use their van transfer. All of us (6 ppl) they charged 500 baht and they picked up usaswell. It is fun than walk.so we happy with this trip. Only downside, the beach has lots of garbage flood from the wave.

The beach is accesible free of charge. Get ready to hike down to it in a jungle and back up hill too (both ways around 10-15 minutes). The view, water and sand is beautiful. We arrived at 11 but around 12 there were coming lots of people by longtail boats (around 3-4 boats) and the beach got a bit crowded. Water is getting quite quickly deep, so if you are not good swimmer and prefer lower water, I suggest some other beach. Water is crystal clear, you can see different fish in there. We saw some jellyfish too

If you plan to visit this place, make sure it's before evening as it gets dark. There's a steep downhill that leads to the Freedom Beach. If you're a hiking type of a person, won't be a problem to you as you have to hike about 2 km. The view is phenomenal, as you can see the sunset and very little people go there. The tickets are 100 Baht per person, which I think is a bit too much.

You can follow the Google Map and drive up to the mountain to the car park. From their downhill, I strongly advise you to take the SUV 300 Baht return fare to go down and come up with the steep trail. Alternatively, you can walk down, and while coming up, use their SUV service (100 baht per pax). You can't use your own SUV to drive downhill to the beach from the car park. Very steep and rough terrian. They are using modified Toyota Hilux. If you choose to walk down, be careful and avoid smooth surfaces as it is very slippery. The entrance is 100 baht (SUV not included) per pax (which I seriously doubt if it is government fee). Secluded beach, very beautiful and scenic. Very good for swimming.

Before coming here I heard that is really nice, beach is nice ... until I get here, not sure is really worth it or not...but I'm not going to come again. Beach was okay la not really nice...with seaweeds floating around and have lots of rocks and makee hard to enter to the sea. And the way to the beach was not easy to arrive. The road was rocky and sandy, then you need walk dfrom the hill to the bottom of the sea need take 15-20 minutes. If after rain highly not suggest to go will be very dangerous for the road.

(Translated by Google) One of the most beautiful beaches in southern Thailand. Crystal clear water without a boat of any kind, sandy bottoms and immediately deep so be careful of those who do not swim very well. Absolute peace on the beach with about 8 euros you have the opportunity to take an umbrella and 2 sunbeds completely immersed in the green of the jungle. Zero children, zero noise, chaos and anything else zero. All this, however, has a price, the arrival at the beach is almost inaccessible because after having traveled a loooong steep path you have to go down with the help of a rope along a road at the limit of practicality, so do not make my mistake and bring gym shoes because you will have fun. The best beach you can find in Phuket! The clearest water I have seen around that area, beautiful corals with beautiful fishes, (you can bring your own snorkel or rent one there for 100 baths), there are not too many people and the water os so peaceful. You only can get there by boat or walking. I was staying at the Hotel Buri Resort, which is 3,4 km away from that beach and I decided to go by walking which I recommend, it was a little tiring, but everybody could make it (boats charge you 1,000 bath to bring you there, and Taxis charges 400 from patong beach until the last point you can reach with a car). Oh, bring your own food too, because there is only one restaurant there, and it was closed when I was there. I recommend to leave before 6 pm cause there ia not electricity in that beach, and mosquitos are so hungry.

Beautiful beach and not as secret as it once was. People say you have to walk through woods to get there. Lies! Truth is if you don't want to pay to enter shortcut and walk down stairs you have to walk through the freaking jungle down a steep mountain side for about 15/20 min to get there. It was not worth it! Waves were strong which created cloudy water which wasn't good for snorkeling. More people than we expected. Got beat up by the waves so It was not enjoyable.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful beach. Would recommend for people who come to Freedom Beach. Please keep the garbage that is brought back to the outside as well and should wear sneakers because sometimes there is a steep slope between steps. But getting tired when I get up, I barely breathe, have to rest periodically Crab fish can be seen on the beach. Recommended for young people who are physically strong. Children, old people, if coming to take a charter boat from Patong Beach and come to the beach front, Freedom is safer. (Original) Beautiful beach.

Clean beach with white sand, very soft, very few visitors here. It was high waves when we visited, thought to stay couple of hours, ended up spending the whole day. Free entrance just use your google map, parking area available for vehicles. You may want to bring some drinking water with you as well as good shoes, walking thorough the jungle pathway up & down. You will get a good sweat by the time you reach the beach and more sweat when getting out on way back. Couple of local mini stalls selling drinks & snacks. Bring a mosquitoes repellant spray if you plan to leave the beach in evening.

Good alternative to Patong beach. Now, due to covid, very quiet and lonely. Sometimes dirty when ocean current is unfavorable. Big waves sometimes - and some sharp rocks in the water. There are two little shops where u can buy drinks and snacks. Access is from a steep small path.

Absolutely stunning. Caught a Longtail from Patong Beach, 15min trip (can only access by water). Paid 500baht pp for a return, you tell the guys what time you want to go back. Spent the day relaxing on the peaceful beach, a few vendors/ stalls to buy drinks (soft drinks and alcohol) and snacks. Has a few paths up into the mountains where you can get a better view of your surroundings. Loved the day we spent on this beach.

It's amazing beach. Clear water, nice beach which is good for sunbath. Local people is nice, they prepare mat for free. Food and drink are reasonable price. But you need to walk into forest around 10 mins to this beautiful beach or rent long tail boat from Patong beach is the option

Beautiful spacious place. Just keep in mind that you will have to walk down the trail (10 minutes) if you come by a car. There are entrances (main for free) other one with google map (100b) I guess it was shorter. If you are planning to go back through the boat, you will have to stick around till the boat comes and pick his group and then u can join them, otherwise, you can’t leave whenever you want.

The place itself is amazing, but prepare yourself to be exhausted after the return climbing, specially if it rains. I enjoyed a lot the beach and the views, but for sure this year would climb it back again until I remember. There are lifeguards and locals selling beverage and some food.

Place was hard to get by and had to pay an entry fee of 100 Baht per person to get down. Road is slippery and pretty dangerous to go about. Beach was covered with litter and was so polluted. The waves were really nice though.

Beautiful beach that is in a little bay. It costs money to walk down the main entrances (just to use the foot paths) however there is a free entrance on the other side which is a bit of a drive to get to however it is a beautiful walk through the rainforest

Incredible beach. It's definitely worth the hike. I took the free trail thru the jungle, and it was quite the challenge. It's very steep in spots, rocky, and slippery as well. There are ropes in place to help you along. I'm not sure how the paid trail is, but I hear it is a challenge as well.

Tiny beach full of trash. Big rocks in the water , swimming section between red flags so narrow and crowded. You have to pay 100 tb per person if you wanna take one of shorter path. Or pay nothing and take a long challenging path. On your way back you can also take a ATV ride from special point just in 100-200 yards from beach uphill. It will cost additional 100 tb per person as well. I wouldn’t recommend this attraction to anybody. Worthless. Dirty, small area for swimming, difficult access.

If you fancy a small adventure during your time in Phuket, then this cove is ideal. It's a 0.5km Trek down to the beach but is totally worth it. Pristine blue water with a white sand beach, the water is just perfect for a swim.

Beautiful chilled beach. After reading reviews of the trek to it we hired a long boat in Patong to get there and back. It was worth every penny ☀️🇹🇭

Nice Freedon Beach. There is a checkpoint by the path to the beach. Local landlord asks money for passage 150 bath :) Do not pay and walk about 500m and use an other trek down to the beach. On the beach locals ask to keep clean. Its good BUT there is no trash can on beach. If you buy something from bar you can use bar trash can. Amazing.

This was a nice beach if you have some extra time! We swam, laid out and watched the sunset. We caught a lot tail at the southern end of Patong Beach for 1500 Baht and they took us there and back to Patong Beach. Great beach for swimming! It was a little packed though. I was expecting it to be a lot calmer based off of Reviews I read, but was surprised by the amount of people.

I loved the beach in the morning, very few people, great snorkeling, but you have to be a good swimmer as the waves are strong you might get hurt on the corals so prefer to wear swimming shoes. In the afternoon there where a lot of people so make sure to go early! It’s also a bit hard to get there but in my opinion totally worth it especially if you bring your snorkeling equipment!

Entrance 50 THB, then walk several minutes down the hill. The view is amazing with the rocks on both sides of the sandy beach. I didn't want to leave this spot on earth. Check the pictures.

One of the most beautiful beaches in Phuket. I recommend taking a taxi or motor bike to the hike area and also recommend wearing good shoes as the hike can be quite tricky with uneven paths and stairs. The hike area is strongly affected by tourist traffic as you will see when you go there. The beach was very relaxing and the sea water was pleasant, but it was a bit too crowded. I strongly recommend to go there first thing in the morning around 7p.m to really enjoy the beach.

Beautiful setting though the mounds of rubbish arriving at the beach and on the beach itself is a huge let down for this beautiful beach. A clean up is sorely needed. This would be 5 star if not for the rubbish.

  • 5/5 Prairie Y. 3 years ago on Google
Stunning location, quite the hike to get to (10-20mins) but 100% worth the effort. However there was a lot of plastic waste washed up from elsewhere and I'd assume since we visited in the low season there was no regular maintenance or cleanup crew that would otherwise be there during regular non covid days.

Is a very pretty beach to go to and spend time with the family. The surroundings is scattered with rubbish and it's kind of sight for sore eyes. There is drinks available and also you can order food from them. Also a very nice spot to snorkel.

The beach is breathtaking, peaceful with white sand. However need 250B each to enter with their truck(pretty rough ride)since it’s private, or take some hike down which heard of very steep and no sign for it.

Beach itself is nice, but the there are some people charging 100 bhat to get in and it's quite a walk if you arrive bar car. Best option would be to take one of those long tail boats (1000-1500 bhat including return fare) from patong beach.

A nice beach.... To spend an entire day with your loved ones. A small food stall where you can get corn, chicken barbecue, coconut water, mangoes, pineapple.. *Tropics at its best*

  • 5/5 Chad 1 year ago on Google
Definitely one of the top three beaches in all of Phuket. A bit of an adventure to reach but worth the effort. I'm aware of three entry points. Two charge 100bht per person and the third, and best trail, is free. Travel further up the dirt road to reach "Lek Sand Beach Bar" for free entry. The beach has an excellent sand base and is kept super clean. The workers offer free mats for laying out and multiple food and drink options. Also, a good place for snorkeling.

  • 5/5 Ranu T. 11 months ago on Google
If you're looking for a serene and less crowded beach experience in Phuket, Freedom Beach is definitely worth the 100 Bhatt entry fee. To get to the beach, there is a 2 km trek down a cliff, but the stunning views along the way make it well worth the effort. One of the best things about Freedom Beach is that it is less crowded than other popular beaches in Phuket, making it a great option for those looking for a more peaceful and relaxing day. However, it's important to note that there are fewer food options available, with mainly fried rice and noodle dishes being offered. On the bright side, there are coconut water and shakes available to keep you refreshed throughout the day. The beach offers free umbrellas for sunbathing and the water is clean, making it perfect for swimming or snorkeling. Snorkeling is especially enjoyable as there is a lot of marine life to explore in the clear waters. Overall, I would rate Freedom Beach a 5 out of 5. While the trek down to the beach may be a challenge for some, the stunning views and peaceful atmosphere make it worth it. The lack of food options may be a drawback for some, but the refreshing coconut water and shakes make up for it. Additionally, the beach is perfect for snorkeling and swimming, making it a great choice for water activities.

Absolutely stunning beach. You do have to walk down a very steep hill that has uneven ground to get to the beach so I'd recommend wearing trainers to climb down. On the way back up there was a jeep charging 100 baht to drive you back up to the top. So thankful for that option giving how hot and humid it was. You do also have to pay 200 baht per person at the entrance to the beach so make sure you have cash with you.

  • 5/5 Alexander L. 1 year ago on Google
Awesome beach, the ticket is 100Baht including a water. The transfer to Patong with negotiations was 200 B. (started from 400). The boat is terribly expensive... Above the beach there is a very good restaurant, with wonderful view and foods. In the beach there is another place where I bought beer and smoothie in real Coconut, all price were very fair. The beach, the rocks, and the forest, the see are really beautiful. Have to see!!! We have seen some garbage in route to the beach, and between the rocks. There was some friendly dogs there-we loved them.

100 THB to enter, unless you find the free entrances. Don’t be fooled by the signs that tell you it’s only 200m to the beach, because it’s definitely not. Wearing thongs/sandals or whatever you call them, is sufficient, you don’t need closed in shoes, however just watch your step. It’s a pretty steep climb down and up, so be prepared for the walk. The beach itself is beautiful Very popular, however minimal food and drink options. One of the locals/umbrella men yelled at me for putting rubbish in a rubbish bag (a plastic bottle and a plate) because he said I was making it too full and heavy…. When asked where I put the rubbish He told me to go away 😑 And here I was thinking the better option would be to put it in the bin myself rather than leaving it on the beach like most others… The water was rather wavey the day we went , although you can still stand far out into the water before it gets too deep. The kids loves playing in the waves and surfing them into the shore. Over all, a great beach Just pack some snacks and water And be prepared for the walk.

  • 5/5 Richie k. 11 months ago on Google
There's a small entry fee to enter this beach. The trek is small but tiring as it is a bit steep. But the location is totally worth it. Good place for swimming, not good enough for snorkeling though.

  • 4/5 Oleksandr P. 8 months ago on Google
Amazing beach. One of the best on Phuket during the high waves season. But the surroundings are so littered and polluted. It would be good if the beach management to clean it up.

  • 4/5 Rick 6 months ago on Google
Great beach. Quite and not too crowd! If you don't wanna pay 300b just for transferring between the parking lot and the beach, you have to follow the wooden instruction at the entrance and get there through the trail. It's quite steep and slippery, so I don't recommend wearing flip-flops. Also make sure you bring your own snacks unless you want to pay 200b for pringles chips.

  • 5/5 JM633 B. 5 months ago on Google
Well worth the hike! Be sure to use the free access path from Lek Sands Beach Bar and support this local family by buying a drink for the walk down! Immaculate litter-free beach, well maintained and beautiful clear waters! THE BEST BEACH IN PHUKET!
