The glory of Kathmandu Valley is said to have started from this way. Swayambhu is one of the holiest Buddhist stupas in Nepal. The swoyambhu nath temple is one of the must visit places in kathmandu. The temple is also known as a monkey temple. There are some steps we need to take to reach the top of the temple and it's not a big deal. When you reach the top you can see the whole of Kathmandu.

Swayambhu Bhagwan Pau, the venerable Swayambhu Buddha Footprint, stands as a timeless testament to Nepal's spiritual heritage. This hallowed ground transcends the realm of religion, drawing souls of diverse beliefs into its embrace, united in their quest for transcendence and connection. At the heart of this sacred site lies the revered footprint of Lord Buddha, an indelible symbol that transcends time and space. Positioned towards the eastern horizon, this imprint radiates the essence of enlightenment, compassion, and profound wisdom. It beckons seekers to tread the path of self-discovery and spiritual evolution. Within the sanctified precincts of Swayambhu Bhagwan Pau, the air is thick with devotion, woven through the tapestry of rituals, meditative practices, and heartfelt prayers. Pilgrims come not merely to visit but to immerse themselves in a spiritual journey. The site becomes a canvas upon which the stories of seekers are painted, each brushstroke revealing a yearning for inner peace, harmony, and truth. As incense perfumes the air and soft chants mingle with the breeze, Swayambhu Bhagwan Pau becomes a portal to another realm—a realm of self-purification, mindfulness, and soulful awakening. It bridges the earthly and the divine, inviting individuals to transcend the mundane and touch the infinite.

Obviously world heritage site but it’s quite dirty. If you look over the edge you see trash. Western tourists pay more to enter but why are there tip boxes when you enter? Dear whoever runs this place, take some of the tourist dollars and clean it up. If the revenue is not enough then increase the price. It feels like a market place at the top.
